Kvetka 3.18.1 released

A new version of program is released - Kvetka 3.18.1. It is mostly a bugfix update. Some of the fixed bugs could cause Kvetka to crash. We also updated a number of plugins to make them completely compatible with the new version of the program.

A new version of program is released - Kvetka 3.18. We add a keyboard moves input in it. Now in order to make a move you can just type it either in main window or in "Moves" window. We try to add as many different notations as possible however there can be problems with recognizing some non-standard notations. Additionally a warning message is added if an impossible position appears after placing pieces, recognition of the games from chess.com is improved and some other minor changes and bugfixes are made.

A new version of program is released - Kvetka 3.17. Now it supports the chess base format used in SCID program. Additionally a dozen of other minor changes and bugfixes were implemented which make Kvetka more comfortable to use.

Final version of plugin "PGN handling".

A final version of the "PGN handling" plugin is released. We tested it quite thoroughly, fixed a number of bugs, add some new features. And now the plugin is ready! Recall that this plugin produces all kind of manipulations with the collections of chess games in pgn files. Plugin "PGN handling". beta version.

A new plugin "PGN handling" is released. It allows you to perform different manipulations with game collections in PGN format. Plugin can unite several pgn files into one, split them, select certain games from the collection in accordance with various criteria, add useful and remove redundant information from the game. In other words, it can do almost everything which can be done with pgn files. This is beta version yet so probably sometimes it could show some unexpected behavior. A new version of program is released - Kvetka 3.15. Now it allows you to hide move comments and variations. This can be done in one click by pressing the corresponding button in "Moves" window. Additionally as usual all found bugs were fixed and some othe minor changes were made. Finally we replaced the default chess engine by its newer version (Stockfish 2.2.2).

A new version of program is released - Kvetka 3.13. It supports new features to work with chess comments (in particular the comment can be added before move). Also the annoing dialog which appeared before deletion of games is replaced by autosaving. Finally some changes were made in appearance of captions of "Games" and main windows together with engine output.

A new version of program is released - Kvetka 3.12.2. It allows you to tune plugins via plugin "Options...". So you don't have to search all the menu for that. There are also some small changes and fixes made.

Plugin "Endgame Bases"

New plugin "Endgame Bases" is released. It shows you the exact game result in endgame positions where at most 6 pieces are left on a board. You can also see which move will cause which result. All the information is displayed in "Engine" window. You don't need to download Tablebases themselves (they are very huge), they are stored online by the address www.k4it.de. Plugin "Analysis" updated

A new version of plugin "Analysis" is released. It contains some new features related to opening books. For example in a new version there is an option to store chess moves instead of positions. It makes book smaller and allows you to find all games with given first moves. Additionally a support of recommended and not recommended moves (they are displayed in green and red) and games filtering according to the number of moves are added. Plus some other improvements. Finally all the discovered bugs, some of them were quite important, were fixed. An update can be found here.

Kvetka 3.11 released!

After a long summer delay a new version of program is released - Kvetka 3.11! We have added only one new feature: support of fns files which contain a lists of chess positions. On the other hand we polish a number of existing features: add automatic correction of some invalid FEN positions, improve the recognition of player names and game results in online games from chesspro and make many other small improvements and bugfixes.

A new version of program is released - Kvetka 3.10. Now it shows hints with diagrams if you direct a mouse cursor to the move in "Moves" window or to the possible continuation in "Engine" window. Additionally in new Kvetka every engine can be tuned independently. And of course we've made other small changes and bugfixes.

A new version of program is released - Kvetka 3.9.1. It is mainly a bugfix update. In particular it fixes the problem which caused Kvetka to crash if the list of the last opened games was empty. We also replaced the default engine by its newer version and made some other minor changes.

PLugins "Options" and "Windows Service" updated

Together with update of Kvetka two plugins are updated: "Options" and "Windows Service". In "Options" some variants of color schemes of the board are changed and a couple of bugs are fixed. In "Windows service" a number of new extensions supported by the last version of Kvetka are added (*.cbh, *.ctg, *.kob, *.bin).

Kvetka 3.9 released!

A new version of program is released - Kvetka 3.9! Now it understands the format of Chessbase chess archives (cbh files). Aditionally we have changed the appearance of the board by default, so now chess pieces will look better. Finally there are some improvements related with the list of recently opened files, recognition of empty moves in pgn files is added and many other minor changes and fixes are made.

Opening book support, final release.

The final version of "Analysis" plugin with support of the opening books is released! It will enable you to view what moves are the most popular for the current position and which of them are statistically "better". Chessbase (*.ctg), Polyglot (*.bin) and Kvetka's own format supported. The final version is quicker and more stable than beta. It also has some new features like ability to view the moves recommended by opening book in "Engine" window; moves ordering according to the statistical chance of winning and more. Kvetka starts supporting the opening books! Now it can recognize the books from Chessbase (partially, read only), Polyglot (read only) and Kvetka's own format. It will enable you to see how many wins, loses and draws were made from the current position. Moreover you can open the game which contains the position if the book can provide this information. The book will be displayed like that: screenshot. "Analysis" plugin is in stage of beta testing yet, but on the other hand this is the best time for your suggestions. Download "Analysis" plugin.

Kvetka 3.8 released

A new version of Kvetka is released - Kvetka 3.8. Firstly there are two new engine modes: analyze the opponent threat and lock engine to the position. Secondly Moves navigation with the mouse wheel was implemented. But the main purpose of the new version is to make Kvetka ready for opening book support, which will be released soon (now it is available in Russian only). Traditionally there are also plenty of other minor changes and bugfixes.

Kvetka in Esperanto

Somewhere the recognition of downloaded games were improved, somewhere an update started working properly. However for some online content like Kvetka information an update was switched off. Also a bug which caused Kvetka to crash while installing an updates in Windows Vista / 7 was finally fixed.
