So a week or so ago on my favorite marketing forum Wicked Fire the infamous nickycakes needed a little help from the members in putting together a list of the top 10 worst make money online sites.

Nicky’s blog NickyCakes is pretty popular in the affiliate marketing circle in case you haven’t heard or seen it.

Brief history check in case you didn’t know mlm and business opportunities are how I got my start into all of this. Now of course if I knew then what I know now I would have never made that horrible mistake but everyone has to start somewhere…But needless to say that little stunt in my life allowed me to experience TONS of terrible MMO sites. Some even worthy of potentially landing on the nickycakes list of top 10 worst sites. Top 10 Worst MMO Sites

So I chimed in and let Nicky know of one site in particular. Just so happens he deemed it worthy enough and came it at number 5. Check out his post Top 10 Worst MMO Sites and let me know what you think!

If you’ve read my blog at all, you know I don’t post too often. (mainly because blogging doesn’t make me any money and I live by Get Money + Get Paid) Well this morning I woke up hungrier than ever and have absolutely been working like a mad man today…

All day today the only thing I can think about is hitting the $1000/day profit mark. I have had several very healthy days in my affiliate marketing career, but the $1000/day profit has not been one of them.

I’ll definitely update my progress as well as some about how I was able to hit that mark once I do.

Changes Affect Testimonial Advertisements, Bloggers, Celebrity Endorsements

The Federal Trade Commission today announced that it has approved final revisions to the guidance it gives to advertisers on how to keep their endorsement and testimonial ads in line with the FTC Act.

The notice incorporates several changes to the FTC’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, which address endorsements by consumers, experts, organizations, and celebrities, as well as the disclosure of important connections between advertisers and endorsers. The Guides were last updated in 1980.

Under the revised Guides, advertisements that feature a consumer and convey his or her experience with a product or service as typical when that is not the case will be required to clearly disclose the results that consumers can generally expect. In contrast to the 1980 version of the Guides – which allowed advertisers to describe unusual results in a testimonial as long as they included a disclaimer such as “results not typical” – the revised Guides no longer contain this safe harbor.

The revised Guides also add new examples to illustrate the long standing principle that “material connections” (sometimes payments or free products) between advertisers and endorsers – connections that consumers would not expect – must be disclosed. These examples address what constitutes an endorsement when the message is conveyed by bloggers or other “word-of-mouth” marketers. The revised Guides specify that while decisions will be reached on a case-by-case basis, the post of a blogger who receives cash or in-kind payment to review a product is considered an endorsement. Thus, bloggers who make an endorsement must disclose the material connections they share with the seller of the product or service. Likewise, if a company refers in an advertisement to the findings of a research organization that conducted research sponsored by the company, the advertisement must disclose the connection between the advertiser and the research organization. And a paid endorsement – like any other advertisement – is deceptive if it makes false or misleading claims.

Celebrity endorsers also are addressed in the revised Guides. While the 1980 Guides did not explicitly state that endorsers as well as advertisers could be liable under the FTC Act for statements they make in an endorsement, the revised Guides reflect Commission case law and clearly state that both advertisers and endorsers may be liable for false or unsubstantiated claims made in an endorsement – or for failure to disclose material connections between the advertiser and endorsers. The revised Guides also make it clear that celebrities have a duty to disclose their relationships with advertisers when making endorsements outside the context of traditional ads, such as on talk shows or in social media.

The Guides are administrative interpretations of the law intended to help advertisers comply with the Federal Trade Commission Act; they are not binding law themselves. In any law enforcement action challenging the allegedly deceptive use of testimonials or endorsements, the Commission would have the burden of proving that the challenged conduct violates the FTC Act.

Pretty interesting stuff, no longer can you lie and no more simply adding “Results not typical…”

It will be interesting to see what comes of this.

Let me give some brief history on myself and my marketing career. Ok so like most people when I first started marketing online to create an income for myself as an entrepreneur, I really had no direction. Hell I didn’t even know what an auto-responder, landing page or pay per click ad were at the time.

I quickly grasped the idea that this was definitely not a sprint but rather a marathon. Which was fine by me as I had a huge passion for marketing and grew to love this industry at a very rapid rate. It also made sense why so many failed at this business, since they all come into it with a get rich quick mentality. I took my time, learning the ropes, trying not to cut any corners; although admittedly I’m sure I did.

I actually got my start in the mlm and biz opp niche. Searched on google for ways to make money online and what at the time seemed like The BEST Thing Ever… I decided to give it a shot and see where it takes me.

Fast forward a couple months and by now I had begun promoting this opportunity. I made a little bit of money, but nothing even worth mentioning and I started to draw conclusions that maybe it wasn’t for me. Somewhere during this time, I stumbled upon affiliate marketing and more specifically cpa affiliate marketing. I researched it a little bit, and made the move to invest a couple thousand dollars into a coach. Now there were several months mixed in here, one of which I decided to join back into a biz opp but I’ll leave out that stuff as I was still trying to find “my thing.”

One thing I got tired of doing was spending money. CPA Dominance. It seemed like I had to drop money for ever nitpicking thing, and at this point I was damn near broke! So I finally began making some money with a couple blackhat promotions and cpa offers. At the time it seemed like a lot of money, although it wasn’t but it started to give me the confidence that this really can work. CPA Dominance.

If you know me, or happen to be on my subscriber list (which I highly recommend since I give away tons of free stuff!) you know that I never recommend products or services UNLESS they are absolutely Top Notch. Quote me on this, but I think in the past year I have maybe recommended one or two products and that’s it. CPA Dominance was truly one of these rare sites that I could finally put my confidence into recommending. See my good friend, Dr. Z, who quietly makes a fortune in affiliate marketing got tired of seeing ALL these watered down and over-priced products coming out month after month. CPA Dominance was his solution to the problem.

Kicking ass and taking names is certainly Dr. Z’s way of doing things, he doesn’t mess around and doesn’t really care what others think. In fact, several “gurus” have been beating down his door to take this bad boy off the market already, and of course it’s easy to see why when you charge 1/10th what most guys are charging for this information.

So I encourage you to take a long hard look at CPA Dominance, but don’t wait to long as I hear he may close the doors soon once it gets to a certain number of members.

Some days for me seem much easier than others as an entrepreneur. Days where I can just wake up, get ready, sit down at the desk and just start tearing it up… While others are quite the opposite. I haven’t really quite figured out what it is yet, but I’m starting to draw closer to finding a solution I think.

Small Actionable Goals:

On days when I’m in a slump, these have been critical. I’ll plot out chunks of time, say like 2 hours and just focus on one task. Some days it feels like a chore more than passion, but it’s definitely helped me to focus and get work done. For me time is money, so this is critical to fulfill tasks and stay ahead of the game.

Food and Water:

I’m a pretty healthy eater, being a former bodybuilder and collegiate athlete so I can attest to the importance of a healthy diet. Eating good allows for more energy and focus. Pick foods that are high in proteins, fiber and healthy fats. Vegetables and fruits should be ate every day, with each meal if possible. I also recommend a high quality multi-vitamin and lots of water.

Sleep:

If there is one thing I love, it’s sleep. Unfortunately I don’t get as much sometimes as I’d like to. Getting a minimum of 6 hours of sleep each night will leave you feeling good and rested. 8 hours would be the ideal, but I don’t know to many people who manage to get 8 hours these days, so be sure and try to get at least 6.

Why Factor:

Everyone has a Reason why they want to be successful in life. Some of you may not have figured it out yet, but it’s definitely there. For me it’s because I want to provide for my entire family, give back to charity, help others and live a free and comfortable lifestyle without stress. Determining your “why” factor will greatly improve your efforts, simply because now you know what it is you’re working towards.
