Snoop Dogg’s newest single, “I Became a Snoop Dogg Millionaire,” forges into dubstep territory with the help of producers Chase and Status. Posted to Twitter yesterday, there’s already a buzz around this track. It features Tanvi Shah, one of the vocalists on the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack, as well as the Hustle Boys and added production help from Wild Animals. I don’t expect this to go over huge with dubstep fans, but it may create a bigger demand those crazy, wonky beats. Dubstep producers, your ship has come in.

More album release news/hype!!

Canadian duo Junior Boys just announced details regarding their third album, ‘Begone Dull Care.’ Two years since their last critically acclaimed album, ‘So This Is Goodbye,’ their newest full-length is set for release on March 24th in their native Canada, with the US to follow on April 7th, 2009.

The album title is a reference to a short film by Oscar-winning Scottish-Canadian animator and electronic composer, Norman McLaren -a big influence on the conception and creation of this album. McLaren specialized in direct film animation, which is the technique of physically manipulating or painting on film frame by frame via stop motion animation. The Junior Boys have approached ‘Begone Dull Care’ with a similarly meticulous production ethos -every sound is intentional, nothing feels out of place or like an afterthought.

The first single will be “Hazel,” and Junior Boys are slated to kick off a six-week tour of the America’s starting March 28th in Toronto.
