Hi all, I want to wish you all a Happy and prosperous new Year. Also, i would like to inform you all that i may be out-of-blogging for 2-3 months from now onwards. It is because i'm having the SSLC examinations at this march and i have several unit tests and model exams to start from this monday onwards. So i will be very much busy with my studies, and may won't get much time to blog. But don't lose the connecions. I will be back after this march, and hopes that it could be a fresh return in my Career. Once again - Happy New Year wishes to all ! :)

You may have read about the tips to import your blog to your Facebook wall. Through this way you can share your articles with your friends and gets more visitors. But you may had possibly read my post about how to create a fan page for your blog/site/product in Facebook. Last day I got a mail from one of my readers, asking that how he can import his posts to the wall of his facebook fan page. I thinks that it's not only one man's problem, Others may also be having it. So i decided to create a post about it.

The profile is created by an individual for himself and to connect with other people. But the fan pages are created by an individual in-order to prmote a website/product. The advantage of page, when compared to user account are that they have many options like Reviews, Discussion etc and the people can join in it as fans. All these can promote your business. I think i don't want to describe the need of a fan page for your blog and waste the time and your interest for reading the rest.

Here are the steps

Log-in to your facebook account
Go to your fan page
Select the Notes tab (It may be seen on the tabs on the right top, or you add it by clicking the '>>' icon on there.
Click on 'Write a new note'
Just pass your eyes through right side of the screen. You may see an option like this -
Click on 'Import a blog'
Now copy and paste your blog's feed URL to it.
Refresh the page and you can see your posts appearing on the walls of your Fan page

Recently, I had posted about the Top 10 sites which let you to download any videos, including you tube videos.I had also posted about another tool, which helps you to download youtube videos and convert it into any other formats.Both of these ways are difficult in one way or another, as we had to copy the URL of the video and paste it on the specific site.....and all that.It's a very boring job if you have lots of videos to download.As now i had moved to the 500C plan of BSNL, i can download unlimited files on night (before, it was limited to 1GB), I have a lots of videos to download.So, Instead of this way, i tried to find any other tool, which could help me to download you tube videos just in a click.I found many, but none of them where trusty/working properly.I had been searching for it, for the last 5 days.

At last i found it.The best tool to download you tube videos just in a click.It's nothing other than the real player.Real player is a common tool used by most of web users to download videos and watch videos from the video library.

Instead of playing clips from their library, they also allows you to download any videos just with a click.It may be you tube videos, google video, daily motion or anything.You can enable this just within seconds.

Go to Tools -> Preference
check the box 'Enable web downloading........'
Click OK

Now, After your settings have been saved, Go to youtube or any similar video directory and open the video you want to play.Move the mouse cursor over it and you may see a 'download this video' button (see the screenshot).

Click on the button to download.The video will be downloaded to your hard disk and you can play it with the real player.If you want to convert the file into any other form like 3gp, AVI etc - These options are also included by real player.

I have seen many bloggers using another bloggers images for logos, buttons etc.In my opinion, it's a shameful activity.I have tried to stop these scoundrels from it , but they are not.I had made a post on where to find a fit and best logo for your blog.I hope that, that post has helped you to have your own logo other than a logo used from others.Still many are depending on others for logos.So I'm now making a post about how to create stylish buttons for your blog.

Buttons also have same position as your logo.Your blog will be very 'handsome', if you have a tidy buttons in it and your blog will be very 'ugly' if it has an untidy button.So while you create your button, you should be careful about these.Also keep in mind that many of your readers will determine the quality of your blog based on it's design !

In Facebook, you may have seen a 'fan page' for every big websites.Just tell the truth, Haven't you ever imagined that it would be great if you too had such a page for your blog / website.Most probably you may have.Anyway, i have imagined it many times and i succeed on it on last week.I have created one page for my blog in facebook.Most of all newbies on facebook may be having difficulty to do this, as they don't have much experience(me tooo).so, I just want to tell you how to do it.

Remember that, a fan page in face book can increase your value in blogosphere.It would also helps you to connect with your readers.It can also help you to know that who all loves your blog and above all, you can proudly say that i have a big community for my blog !

1.Log into your facebook account.
2.Go to the Fan page of Labofweb and Join in Lab-of-web as a Fan
3.After joining, just run through the page, you may see your profile pic on the Fans List
4.Below this, you will see the recent posts and just below it, you can see a 'Create a page for my business'

6.Click on it and you will be redirected to a new page which shows the options to Create a Business Page.

7.Select the 'Brand, products or organization' and then select 'website' from the drop-down menu.
8.Now Give relevant information regarding your Website and upload a photo of it.
9.Your page has been Created.Invite your Friends to join your group.
10.It's all done, Now Promote your blog through facebook too.

We are now living in a modern world where each trends will last for only 1-2 days.But how would it be, if you were living in the high schools of 90's.Have you ever thought of it.You will be having that old style of long silky hairs, a big cooling glass, a black glasses on your nose. .......... he he! I know that it's a little scary to imagine but last day i found one such site, which could help you to imagine it and visualize it.I spend the whole night, uploading photos of myself and my friends to it and watching us as the students of the old 90s.See some of the pictures i collected from it.

Google wave is a real-time communication portal created by Google, which is going to make a diplomatic change in the blogosphere.It can be simply called as a collabration of images, videos .. etc on simple chat and a real-time collabration with natural langague tool, which may even spell your name.

But the thing is that you can join in it only with an invitation from any of it's members.I have seen many dying to get an invitation from it.Many bloggers are even making contests, by announcing the prize as an Google wave invitation.Just Google it and you may see it.

Is a Google wave invitation, so hard to get ?

How to add a 125x125 adsection for blogger

The main source of the income of a blogger comes from ads.Nowadays, ads are sold without any 3rd party, directly between bloggers and advertisers.The most common format of such advertising are 125x125 ads and 468x60 ads.Blogger won't supports 125x125 ads directly, just as WP does.Due to this most of all blogger templates won't have this section.In this post, we are gonna tell you how to create a 125x125 ad section for blogger and boost up your income.

1 : Sign in to blogger - Edit Layout
2 : Click the 'Add Gadget' Button
3 : Now a new 'Pop-up' will loads.Select "HTML/Java script' from it.

4 : Now we want to enter the HTML code for the widget..Add the code given Below ;

Here, the idea of tables is used.So, you can edt all these values easily.You see 3 differemt colours on font apart from the default color.They are Red, blue and purple.These are the parts of code that allow you to show the desired ads on your site .I gave them colour, so that you can easily identify the codes that are to be modified.

Blue - The code in blue (#) must be replaced with your target URL,i.e, the URL which you want to link to.

Purple - Source of Image.You have to replace it with the URL of the 125x125 ad image you want to show

Red - This indicates the code that is used to put the ads.You may edit it as you like (giving alts, nofollow etc)

What if you are using code of any ad networks ?

If your site is not so popular, you may find it hard to get advertisers for your blog..In such cases, you can use any ad networks like Adtoll, buysellads for finding advertisers. But most of such sites will be providing you any codes- that can track your visitors, clicks etc - which contain JavaScript in it.These codes can also be added here without any trouble.You have to replace it with the codes in colours.(means all colours including red, blue and purple.)

Blogger is a free blogging platform provided by Google.As it is free, it doesn't have much facilities like the Wordpress blogs, which are premium blogs.But Blogger gives the users the complete freedom to customize its code easily and just because of that we are able to practice most of all WP hacks in blogger also.Today, I'm telling you about the hack to show the authors picture with the post title.This hack could be very useful for blogs running Guest Posts and Group blogs.See the screenshot i took by enabling this hack in my blog.But.I had again disabled this hack as my blog has only one author and there is no reason in putting my Avatar on all pages, which is not at all fit for my theme.

Step 1 : Create an Avatar For you.Refer this post for more info on that.

Step 2 : Host your Avatar on any free Image hosts and collect a link.

Step 3 : Sign in to blogger and Go to Layout -> Edit HTML -> Click on Expand Widget Templates

Step 4 : Add the Image code in your Blogger template ;

You may have heard that the search engines like Google provides you the option of Boolean Searching.Other than Boolean searching Google also provide their own operator tags to get the most out of it.Through this post i'm gonna Introduce you to the TOP 10 Operators which could helps you to get the desired information from Google.

    you can use this to search for a specific type of file only.You have to add the "filetype:" tag to whisper google about the filetype you want.If you are searching for any file in .pdf format, then search for "filetype: pdf".

Eg: you want the guide in the pdf format.Then search Google for :
"windows 7 installation guide" filetype:pdf

5.Avoid a specific word ;

   This hack is to avoid the search results containing any specific word.You can do this by adding a "-" before the word which you want to avoid.

Eg :If you want results about windows 7 installation and want to avoid pages containing the word
'purchase'.add a "-" sign before the word purchase Search ;

6.Include similar words also ;

The webmasters may not be using the same keyword that you search.They may use any other words which could also give the same meaning.So it would be a little difficult for you to include the similar words to it also in the search.you can do this by adding "~" before the word

Eg :You want to search for Pen drive and the results with 'usb flash'are also needed, then search for -
"Pen drive" ~usb flash drive

7.A 'OR' B ;
As similar to the above mentioned hack, this also can be used to find one or more tag that matches your search.You can use the 'OR' tag to find the search results in which one of your search term comes.

8.Define ;

If you want the defenition of any words that you don't know, then you can use this operator.Add the operator "Define:" before the word.

Eg; You want the definition of the word 'pen drive'.Search : Define: pendrive

9.Searching for results which contains the word in URL;

Some pages contains the words we search in there URL itself.Most probably they might be the sites which works on completely that topic.Use the "inurl" tag to search for them.

Eg ; You want a '16 GB usb drive' and wants to search for URL with 'pendrive' in it.Then search :
16GB USB drive inurl:pen drive

10.Searching for words which contain the word in title ;
You can search for the pages that contain your search term only by adding an "intitle" operator before the search term.
Eg ; You want to search the pages that shows pen drive in title. search : allintitle: Pen drive

Re-Writable disks are CD's which can modify / add / erase datas stored in it, Whereas every other CD's are 'read only' .i.e, You can use re-Writable disks just as you use the pen drives, which allows you to edit the datas in it.But many people are not using it just because they thinks that Re-Writable disks are easily damageable or we need special softwares to Erase the contents in it..... When compared to normal CD, they are a bit easily damageable but it's not a problem when we use it properly.The second sentence is the most important reason why the people says no to CD-RWs.But we don't want any special software to do this task, as windows itself provides the option to Erase it.Here in this tutorial, I'm gonna tell you How we can Erase the contents in CD-RW disk without any software, in windows XP !

Tutorial - Be careful while doing this because even a slight mistake in this easy hack could damage your CD-RW

1.Insert The CD-RW to your CD/DVD Writer
2.Open the CD-RW window
3.Select the 'Erase this CD-RW' button from the left sidebar

4.A new window will be launched
5. Click 'Next' on the Window
6.Check the 'close the wizard when .....' to close the window automatically after the erase is complete

7.Now the CD-RW will starts to erase the Datas in it.It may consume some time.

8.The window will close automatically after the Erasing is completed.

Pen drives (memory sticks / USB drives / thumb) ranges it's storage capacity from 64MB to 256GB, They are very small in external size and It has no harm even in scratches or dusts.So, thereby it's very handy and portable.As most of all computers supports USB, There wasn't even the need of an extra plot for using this device.These all qualifications made it very popular and the most common storage device among the people.

Other than CD/DVD, the chance for VIRUS (full form : Vital Information Resource Under Siege) infection is great on these devices.As CD/DVD are 'read only' devices, Infection is only possible from the computer which it was written.But in case of Pen drives,It allows you to read and write information, so it could be affected by virus from any computer, it has been inserted.As new and new viruses are being generated in every seconds, your anti-virus may not be able to find these viruses.So, there is a possibility for severe loss of data stored in it.You may loss them even if you remove the virus.It's really hard to escape from this also.So what can you do to get rid of this situation ??

"Prevention is better than Cure" - You may have heard this.This is the right way.Prevent the entry of virus.It's the easiest and safest way to defend the Virus.The reason why pen drives are affected by virus is because of the 'read and write property' of it.We can make the USB device 'read only' and then no data can be entered into that pen drive, other than from your PC.i.e, data can be entered into the pen drive only from your computer.You can follow the simple steps described below to make your pen drive 'read only'.You just want to do the hack in the reverse order to make it again a 'read and write' device.

Q : How Protect your USB / flash / thumb / pen drive from Virus by Making your Drive 'Read Only' to all other computers expect yours.

A :Format it With NTFS File system

As per default, windows doesn't provide the option to format your pen drive in NTFS system, it ony supports the FAT32 file system. (see the screenshot),But we can change it.

Right click on My computer and open the system 'properties' window
Select The 'Hardware' Tab and select the 'Device Manager' From it

Expand (+) the Disk Drive from it
Select the Name of your Pendrive From the list
Right click on the pen drive and select the properties from the window shown.

Now a New window will come
Select the tab called policies from it
There you will see two options Optimize for quick Removal and Optimize for performance.By default The Optimize for quick removal will be checked.Change it and check on the Optimize for performance.

Now click OK

Now select your USB drive,[ eg: from my computer - (H:)your USB name ] and right click on it
select 'format' option
A new window will come showing the formatting options.
Select the file system as NTFS from it.

Click on Start
Done !! - :~)

Now it has been formated with NTFS and it's read only for all other systems expect yours.Only you can add informations to the pendrive.But in case if you want to add datas to the pen drive from any other PC, just change the USB - properties - policies - Optimize for quick Removal.Also, By this trick you can see a great increase in the speed and perfomance of your pen drive too.It's because it's now optimized for performance.

NB : Don't plug out the USB without clicking the 'Saftly remove.....' Button.

The full form of PDF is Portable Document Format.It is one of the mostly used file format, To post information on Web.The secret behind the Love of webmasters to PDF is that, PDF documents can't be modified or edited.So, they are sure about the safty of their works.i.e, Your work will be in the pure form as you created even if it is downloaded by anyone else - He can't modify that one.

When you save your webpage also, there is a chance for modification if it is image, or sure chance if in HTML......! It means that you have to give security for your downloaded Pages also.The file size also will be more.So it would be better if you could download those in the PDF format, which is the common type and has no risks.But Normally, I haven't seen an option yelling "download the page as PDF" in any browsers.You can use this converter named HTML-PDF Converter to download the pages in pdf format.You want to give the URL of the web page only.Then the Converter will convert the page to PDF and you can save it in your Computer.

Most of the students are now depending upon web for scientific information and records, For their studies or Activities like project, seminar .......etc.But It's very hard for them to find the information they needed, from millions of scientific and non scientific information.Most probably, They will be directed to any MFA (made for Ads) sites, which will be on the top of the search results.Anyway, I'm sure that it will be taking at least 1-2 hours just for getting the information you needed.
From my experience, Let me sadly say, Even Google and the new Bing, fails to provide us the real information we needed.There is no matter in blaming them, As most of all webmasters are making MFA sites with high SEO and search engines trust them.But won't it be great if we are getting only scientific based information ??

It was on last Friday, I wanted to search for a piece of information for my sister regarding Microbiology.But The google and bing failed to provide me the information, as they were in great interest in providing us the details about all the major microbiology institutes around the world.At last, i searched for a scientific search engine in the web and for my surprise, I found two of such kind.The main plus point of these sites are that thry only provides pur scientific informations.They are none other than Scircus and Ojose.

Bing and Twitter are two widely used sites for searching and social bookmarking.Twitter provides the links and information tweeted by other users while Bing provides us the information provided by the webmasters.Both are provided by two different companies and are on different platforms.Even though Twitter provide the hot trends in their site and Bing provides their insights from their search results, It's hard to compare both of them and find the top search terms, which leads in both of them.

There are different types of files on the world.For most of all files like pdf and all, We need to have specific proramms to read each of them.Even there size and natures also varies.But it's not a big problem for us as we can get any software from anywhere.But in the case of web, it's not like that.

Microsoft and yahoo are now into an search agreement for 10 years where yahoo will serve the results of Bing, which is the Microsoft's most appreciable and favorable search engine, by the geeks.As per the deal, yahoo will serve the search results of bing but all other yahoo services will be going as before.The search advertisements will be maintained by the Microsoft's ad market called Adcenter and it is heared that yahoo will get 88% of the revenue through the search.Anyway it's sue that this deal will be a great movement by both of the companies against their Greatest opponent and the Top at the market - Google.You can see the news about the press conference here.
