How is that both of these communities cry out for the need of estrogen in their cesspool of testosterone, but when it becomes available, it is almost rejected from the start? Barely given a chance, labels are slapped onto our heads like the Scarlet Letter, making it almost impossible to feel a genuine sense of community. It’s either, “OMG IT’S A GIRL. /Pounce on her like the last slice of pizza or “Omg… It’s a girl. She’s worthless and shouldn’t be here anyway. Let’s talk about how bad her vagina smells.” Why would any decent female want to be subjected to this sort of treatment? Even the strongest females eventually get fed up with this treatment. Yet, you want us to be there? What kind of passive-aggressive nonsense is that? It’s either one or the other. Pick one.

There have been plenty of times where I have been hit on and treated like a goddess and then treated like garbage. Does that stop me? No. Maybe I’m crazy. Maybe I’m insane, but, both of these platforms are on the public sphere and I refuse to be kept out because of individuals that refuse to go past the status quo.

Okay, So Sony has a press conference to show us some features and a controller, yay us….

Microsoft has a conference to show us a 3d mock-up that reminded me of a pathetic car commercial, coupled with features honestly I could give a damn about.

For some you will say “BUT TRUF!! THESE SYSTEMS ARE THE WAVE OF THE FUTURE!! SURELY HAVING ALL THESE AMAZING COMMANDS WILL MAKE LIFE EASIER FOR ME!!”

No, they will not. For what its worth, you buy a video game system to do one thing, play video games. With the high price of computer specs the average person does not have six hundred to a thousand dollars to spend on a supreme gaming rig. This is where the video game system would come in handy! ,  YES!!! I can play these games and enjoy them with graphics close to what a computer rig could crank out along with the ability to play with friends if its multiplayer friendly. Most importantly the price tag is roughly under that gaming rig cost which for some who are under the age of 18 makes mom and dad more likely to purchase. Here is where it ends though, the new marketing strat for these companies, teaser bullshit. Teaser bullshit is what I call it because that’s exactly what it is, complete bullshit. When I see an official “reveal” of anything it tells me, the “old man gamer” that my current system is about to become incredibly neglected by game programmers, and obsolete as far as the company goes. This also tells me that I have about 3/4ths of a year to enjoy this system before I am FORCED to buy the new. So, my wonderful reader, whats easier for you to swallow? Some asshole in a suit going up on a podium and telling you this straight up and honest? OR!! , having a wonderful “reveal conference!!” with movie stars and mock-up video of …..STUFF! OH MY GOD I AM SO HYPE!!! I totally forgot these major points which should send me into a semi pissed off state of mind especially when I figure out how much money I sunk into whats now an old dog waiting to be put down. Do they show the system? sometimes…..but during that time in most cases they don’t even HAVE a system to show!

You will ask yourself then “okay if they do not have a system, how do they have videos of stuff coming out?” Truth is, they don’t. Most of that is done on a computer that’s used to develop games for the new platform. Whats easiest to make though is the controller, which is why they “tease” you with just a controller. This is where I draw the line. I am no longer a 9 month old baby who will smile and giggle and reach up frantically as this controller is dangled in my face, I am 35 years old, I am a consumer who has sunk money time in and time out during the evolution of gaming. In some words I , like many people around the world, am an investor. When I see these god awful teaser bullshit campaigns all -I- see is a huge message hidden in the plethora of speeches from companies like EA, Squaresoft, Capcom, and others “THIS IS THE DEATHCLOCK FOR YOUR SYSTEM, YOU HAVE 7 MONTHS TOPS!, THANK YOU”. At that point Gamestop and other stores get the go-ahead to start taking your money, and they also begin to set huge sales because your system as it stands is now living on borrowed time.

But once again, why just tell the truth? because like your parents do when a beloved pet dies, they dangle the new pet in your face, a fucking insult to your intelligence as if you wouldn’t ask “hey, if i am getting a new puppy, where is the old puppy!?”. The only difference in this is companies are doing this to ADULTS, not children. We are the new target audience for game companies who pack these systems full of dumb shit our actual television sets are doing now. Why would I want my GAME SYSTEM….mind you….to play standard TV? my TV does that just fine. I buy video game systems to PLAY VIDEO GAMES. I don’t go to gamestop to say “Hey I am looking for something that makes watching TV easier, OH I am also part of a fantasy football league and using my keyboard and mouse…phew….its just too hard. NO, NO, NO, FUCK NO! NO!!! , I go to gamestop and I ask “WHICH ONE OF THESE CAN I BUY TO PLAY THIS GAME” whether it be call of duty, street fighter, or even need for speed. This shows me that companies are putting actual video games, last on the list of priorities and this is why most game systems will not be backwards compatible, because honestly they didn’t have the time to care. They used THAT time to cram in a bunch of multimedia bullshit we as gamers honestly wont use.

I would urge the public to not feed into this bullshit these companies use ,  because its a clear insult to our intelligence. They feel that when they hold these events, they are generating a want when in actuality its nothing more but a bait and switch so we do not ask the real questions, the questions that revolve around our wallets. With the economy the way it is, every dollar I earn I try to covet. If I had a choice between Microsoft and Sony honestly, I would choose neither. If we keep drinking this kool-aid of hype and foolery, they will keep giving it to us with the assumption that we are so blinded by the new bells and whistles that we will just forget about what we have literally sitting in front of us, sitting with a huge death sentence upon the end of the event. We are smarter than that, and I hope in some way this opens your eyes as a consumer, gamer, and most importantly, an intelligent human being.  Sometimes the truth hurts, but what doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger.

The jury is still out on both systems (xbox one and ps4), however I’m not a fan of forcing us to have an internet connection to play, paying a fee to active used games or of xbox in general.

To unlock Dead Ops Arcade (Screen shot below), this is what you have to do:
From the Main Menu (TV screen) escape the chair that is holding you captive.
On PS3 press L2 and R2 and on Xbox 360 press Lt and Rt. You will then break free of your restraints. Get up and walk around the TV to the Left. Once you stand up you will earn a trophy (Just Ask Me Nicely) Then walk over to the computer on the wall. A keyboard will appear on the screen. Type the letters “DOA” and get ready to start shooting.
