Better Together…

An important update regarding the future of Lafayette Community Church

When we began our pastoral transition in January 2023, we had no idea where God would lead us. After months of prayerful consideration and thoughtful discussion, our leadership team had come to the conclusion that it was time to bring our ministry as Lafayette Community Church to a close. This decision was not made lightly. Over the past year, we’ve witnessed God close a number of doors that would have allowed us to continue as an independent ministry, while also opening other doors that have confirmed the new path He is leading us on. It’s easy to see this as a “failure” – but as followers of Christ, we view it from a different perspective. It was never about us or the organization known as “Lafayette Community Church.” Even though this chapter is ending, the ministry of God’s church continues.

Even though we may no longer operate as an independent ministry, we are blessed with incredible people and talents. After a short hiatus this summer  we’re excited to announce that Lafayette Community Church will be partnering with Connection Point Church to continue our mission. We’re better together. In May of 2024, we took our first steps towards partnering with Connection Point Church to continue our ministry.  It became clear that God had been leading in this transition as Connection Point had been praying, planning and working to launch a campus in Lafayette since 2019. God had alerady provided a campus pastor, financial resources and an strong core team of volunteers. The only thing that Connection Point needed was a place to call home in Lafayette. Together, we will launch this new phase of ministry on October 6th. This partnership will allow us to combine our gifts and make an even greater impact for God’s Kingdom.

Rather than seeing this as an end, we see it as God positioning us to be more effective in reaching our community and helping people follow Jesus.  To learn more about Connection Point Church, you can head over to their website.
