I came across this cool site called Tagxedo recently that you can use to turn words -- famous speeches, news articles, slogans and themes, even your love letters -- into a visually stunning word cloud. You can vary the font, colour palette, outline you want the cloud to take from an easy template and voila!

I created the bird cloud above by entering the url of laisezfaire and got this stunning piece of art!

I also had a go at typing in some random words that came to my mind and came up with the adorable elephant cloud above.

If you like what you have created, you can choose to print your customised work of art on a range of products such as T shirts, cups, mousepads in their gift shop. I think this is such a wonderful way to create a meaningful gift for a friend.

Your responsibilities will include:

Reviewing inventory and wholesale orders
Data entry and inventory maintenance
Perform purchase order, stocks receiving and supplier invoice entry transactions
Prepare monthly sales and inventory reports

The successful applicant should possess the following qualities/skills:

Independent worker
Strong email communication skills
Enjoy being in a retail environment, particularly in the baby/children's industry
Any previous experience in retail – either store operations or a purchasing/inventory position in a retail environment will be a plus

It has been an incredibly busy month in April for me and I have not had the chance to post as much as I would like to on laissezfaire. Anyway,been missing everyone on this blog and thought I will do a quick one and share this amazing video. I saw this a few years back and forgot all about it. My favourite piece of advice from this song has got to be:

Domestic Vacations

Captivating photography by Julie Blackmom. I particularly like her work entitled "Domestic Vacations" (seen below).

The Dutch proverb “a Jan Steen household” originated in the 17th century and is used today to refer to a home in disarray, full of rowdy children and boisterous family gatherings. The paintings of Steen, along with those of other Dutch and Flemish genre painters, helped inspire Julie's work.

Julie is the oldest of nine children and now the mother of three. The stress, the chaos, and the need to simultaneously escape and connect are issues that Julie explores in "Domestic Vacations".

"We live in a culture where we are both “child centered” and “self-obsessed.” The struggle between living in the moment versus escaping to another reality is intense since these two opposites strive to dominate. Caught in the swirl of soccer practices, play dates, work, and trying to find our way in our “make-over” culture, we must still create the space to find ourselves. The expectations of family life have never been more at odds with each other. These issues, as well as the relationship between the domestic landscape of the past and present, are issues I have explored in these photographs. I believe there are moments that can be found throughout any given day that bring sanctuary. It is in finding these moments amidst the stress of the everyday that my life as a mother parallels my work as an artist, and where the dynamics of family life throughout time seem remarkably unchanged. As an artist and as a mother, I believe life’s most poignant moments come from the ability to fuse fantasy and reality: to see the mythic amidst the chaos."

Stump stools

These stools were made to resemble snow on forest stumps were harvested from a fallen maple tree on the forest floor. The upholstery is white leather and copper tacks over sustainably-harvested-latex foam.
