Art Melt 2013 Call for Entry, Deadline June 1st

Calling all Louisiana artists: Art Melt is accepting submissions until June 1st for its exhibit, which opens July 20th at the Louisiana State Museum in downtown Baton Rouge. Learn how to submit your work by visiting artmelt.org. This multimedia, juried exhibit is the largest in the state, featuring spectacular works by Louisiana artists. Jordana Pomeroy, executive director of the LSU Museum of Art will serve as the local juror; Susan Edwards, executive director and CEO of the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville, Tennessee, will serve as the regional juror; and Jo-Anne Birnie Danzker, executive director of the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, Washington, will serve as the national juror. Team Green of Southwest Louisiana is a Mayor's Commission whose mission is to develop and sponsor projects which will enhance the appearance and quality of the environment in Southwest Louisiana. Team Green of SWLA is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and Keep Louisiana Beautiful and participates in the annual Great American Clean-up. The group is made up of citizens appointed by the mayor to serve on a voluntary basis.

Team Green meets on the second Monday of each month at noon on the 10th floor of City Hall, 326 Pujo Street.

Art Melt Preview Party

Each year, Forum 35 hosts an unveiling of the Art Melt exhibit for an exclusive group of invested individuals. Tickets to attend the VIP preview party on July 19, 2013 will be made available for online purchase at artmelt.org in June. This multimedia, juried exhibit is the largest in the state, featuring spectacular works for purchase by Louisiana artists. The attendees include Art Melt 2013 artists and sponsors as well as a selective group of industry professionals. Traditionally, all of the artwork is sold at this private event, so if you're interested in purchasing an original piece from Art Melt 2013, we recommend you attend!
