It feels good to travel with friends but it feels ultimately great when you go solo . For me, it is a great opportunity for you to do exactly what you want. You will come up with your own plans, itinerary and a lot more .
Like you , I also want to have my travel dreams come true. Many of them are doing it solo. My experiences are so good . I get what I really want. I go places that I like.Visiting places that I have never been to or visiting places I have never been before . And that is exactly the kind of pleasure , a perfect situation that I always want to experience . I do that because I do not want to deprive myself from exploring what is the unexplored.

I am always astonished to discover how huge our culture is . Philippines has its fantastic array of cultural attractions. Literally we have numerous festivals all over the country, performance art and exhibits. Spend your time reading magazines. Check out the latest museum exhibit or try to google places near you and experience the art of traveling solo. You also might want to learn about our prehistoric times at the National Museum , or try to visit the Museo Pambata and the National Library.

Embarking and venturing on a roadtrip would be an interesting topic for a solo traveler too. You really have to plan ahead . Once you finally settled your destination. It might be a great idea if you try to talk to the locals . Ask them the best place in their town, whats the local street food and delicacies . That would be a lot easier and practical because you dont have to buy an expensive maps .They can be your guide . If you are inspired by your journey try to meet and greet new people along the way . That is the ultimate joy of traveling solo. I always shout or i should say while i enjoy and relish my single status, I am always on the go and working so hard to meet and make connections with these people.

I also tried the walking tour of the city . Like in Intramuros , you are bound to meet other solo travelers there too. Take the initiative, introduce yourself. You’ll never know you will end up doing the same thing ; sight seeing together ….


Traveling solo does not really mean being alone . This is a perfect time for anyone who really thrives on powerful and potent travel adventures.

Being alone, I can go anywhere and go anytime. No pressure. I always feel so motivated to plan a solo trip. Always keep this in mind, remaining alert and using common sense can keep you safe whether traveling solo or in groups. While it is true that there are some concerns about the risk of traveling solo, the risks that is out there would not stop me from exploring different roads.

Im still going on my own road..I have traveled near and far…and my journey continues in this very short road called LIFE… Always be safe….

I have always been fascinated with cultural festivals so I am inviting you to join the Aliwan Festival this coming April 16th which is on a saturday. Its actually an annual event that promotes different cultural festivals all over the Philippines. There will be various programs like dance parade , float competitions and a lot more. 


According to research it started back in 2003, the main objective is to promote different filipino traits and cultures as well as heritage to the whole world . 


Aliwan means entertainment or  amusement in tagalog /filipino language.  This is the grandest fiesta you will be witnessing . 



You dont have to spend so much money because you will see everything here .This is the mother of all fiestas  and I am very positive this is really cool.  Seeing and being part of this  wonderful cultural festivals is a great experience for everyone .




The main event is the cultural street dance competition then followed by float parade and Queen of Aliwan ( its a beauty pageant) Different regions are sending their representative to present their unique cultural festival .  There will also be a numerous bazaar that features various regional products and I also anticipate the wonderful fireworks display at night …

You are not supposed to miss the Bell tower of  Ilocos Sur. Since its just a small town close to Vigan, you really should not miss the Bell tower as it became so famous because its on top of the hill. They also have a beautiful church  called The Bantay Catholic Church. It was built in 1530’s . The architecture is designed by the europeans under spanish regime and was built by forced labor during those spanish era.

Locals are mostly Roman Catholics. Since we’re colonized by the spanish people for almost 350 years , many people converted themselves to roman catholicism. Spaniards built numerous churches all over the places. This is the reason why the town or the region is well known as a home for cathedral churches and bell towers and historical sites.

One great thing I learned from the locals is that the tradition still continues to live on. The bell tower still rings according to the locals.  I have not heard the ringing of the Bell Tower of Bantay Town at the time. But  I think locals  still continue to use it to call the attention of people  to go to the church and attend the mass. In middle ages , the bell towers  in most catholic churches were always ringing  on a daily basis (morning and at night)  to call  everyone’s attention to pray …


The Bell Tower sits on a hilltop (atop the Calvario Hill) overlooking a distinct  green vast of pastureland and the mountain view of the province. I was told it was used as a watchtower for invading enemy forces during World Wars I and II. Evidently, the Bantay Church and bell tower are the monumental witnesses to various  uprisings and staged revolts.




Do not forget to include Bantay Town as part of your itinerary…
