Did you guys miss me!? Ha, I’m not too sure I missed totting around in the sun trying to get the perfect shots of my look; nonetheless, I’m happy another Style Diaries post is here. It’s cool how this River Island Ikat shirt reminds me so much of Burberry’s Ikat print shirt. I actually prefer the River Island of the two, but I’m definitely still coveting Burberry’s Ikat print trousers. For those who may see me more than others, it’s quite evident that my Converse have pretty much become my go-to pair of shoes. They work with almost every outfit, and are so simple yet stylish. I’m gearing up for New York Fashion Week in September, and like always I can’t begin to explain my excitement. I definitely plan on rocking a Converse look while I’m there, and I know it’s bound to be amazing. Hope you guys enjoy today’s post, and have a great Thursday! I know this is a bit late, but I feel as though I have no choice but to share my favorite couture collections with you guys. Givenchy, Valentino and of course Christian Dior.

Christian Dior is definitely my first pick, and was probably the most anticipated couture collection of the season. Raf Simons, who just ended his term at Jil Sander moved to the helm of the iconic Dior brand, and without a doubt hit the ground running. I absolutely loved every single look. The floral was stunning, and of course his effortless incorporation of minimal silhouettes was by far the best we’ve seen. I look forward to all that Dior by Raf Simons has in-store, for seasons and seasons to come.

Amid Kanye’s love for Givenchy, and his help in making the brand more commercially recognized, Riccardo Tisci is undoubtedly bringing it season after season. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love this collection. Like most things Tisci creates, it’s something never seen before. Absolutely amazing, stunning, and gorgeous! The shimmery pieces, the beaded fringe, and yes the nude colors and fur… The intricate embroidery, over-sized shield glasses, and let’s not forget the German Shepherd that accompanies Joan Smalls in her look. If I didn’t make it clear already, this collection is everything.

If you weren’t aware, Valentino has always been on my radar when it comes to couture. I’m not sure whether it’s their delicate fabrics, extreme femininity or simply the sheer beauty of every collection that captures my attention; but I do know, that every time I see it, I fall in love with the label again. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli seem to creatively reinvent Valentino, collection after collection. With their varied dark-to-neutral palette for Fall 2012, that ranged from blue, salmon pink, floral embroidery and gave pops of red, all I see is an edgy, fierce and seductive woman boasted from every piece. It was the panel cut-outs that caught my eye. Layered atop soft lightweight materials like chiffon, and covering just about the right places.

It’s Summer At Republic 21

I’m sure you guys recognize the name from my introductory “Welcome to Republic 21” post. It’s been a while since I kept you guys in the know about the store, but I myself have been picking up a few affordable goodies in the last couple of months. I decided to pop by the store yesterday for an impromptu shopping spree and took some pictures while at it for my blog. It’s great to see the store endorsing some of Spring/Summer 2012′s biggest trends like prints and patterns; as well as a bit of color. I Love, I Want, I Need | The Cambridge Satchel

I think that most people are aware of the fast growth of the Cambridge Satchel Company. Everyone and their mothers must own one by now; especially since style icons like Brad Goreski and Hanneli have been spotted rocking the boxishly perfect bags at fashion week. The thought of getting one was always on my mind, but somewhere in the depths of brain where it would pop up periodically. My friend Imogen was actually the first person I saw in Barbados to have one, and now that I am seriously considering the purchase, I am having a hard time choosing which color I want. Maybe I’ll get the fluorescent yellow that’s peeked in my last picture…

Kate Moss for Harper’s Bazaar June/July 2012

I had this issue of Harper’s Bazaar for a very long time now. Not only because Bazaar happens to fall into my list of favorite magazines, but because after seeing the cover of the issue, as well as a few shots of Kate Moss on Tumblr, I couldn’t resist getting it. If you weren’t a Kate Moss fan before, I guarantee you that the photos (shot by Terry Richardson in Jamaica) would make you fall in love with the supermodel again and again, page after page. I just decided to grab the camera and snap a few shots of the spread to share with you guys, instead of laying around in bed and listening to music. Hope you all have a great Sunday!
