SINGAPORE – Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is looking to open a restaurant right here at Chinatown’s Keong Saik Road, according to a post by 8 Days.

The magazine reported today (Oct 4) that owners of two separate Keong Saik Road eateries told 8 Days that the celebrity chef is “hunting for a space in the area”.

Makan guru KF Seetoh - who hosted the SingTel hawker food challenge when Ramsay was in town – has confirmed the rumours.

He allegedly told 8 Days: “Yes Gordon is looking to set up shop in Keong Saik. There are many parties interested in working with him on this, but I can’t say whom. The project might take a couple of years though, and he should stick to what he knows best: Western. Don’t try anything funny like chwee kueh with bolognaise sauce. It might work in London but not here.”

Details of Amazon's forthcoming smartphone have been leaked to social news website Hacker News via a throwaway account.

According to the anonymous 'insider', there are two versions of the smartphone – a 'cheap' one that will be released by the end of the year with basic software similar to the Kindle Fire, and a more expensive version that will feature a 3D user interface but will not be released until at least next year.

A Spanish judge has got himself into hot water after he said a driving school was within its rights to charge female learners more than their male counterparts.

Judge Javier Albar from Zaragoza, in northern Spain, decided in favour of a local driving school which had argued their decision to charge women more than men wasn't discriminatory.

A 35-year-old Chinese woman has become the sixth local dengue death case this year.

A joint statement by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Environment Agency (NEA), says they have been notified of the death of a dengue patient who lived at Yishun Ring Road.

The patient had gone to the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital's Emergency Department on September 28 with a history of fever, chest pain, lethargy, nausea and loss of appetite.

A naked businessman found hanging at an all-male spa could have died as the result of a sex game that went wrong, a court heard yesterday.

Mr Yeo Hung Song may have been practising auto-erotic asphyxiation, which involves starving the brain of oxygen to increase sexual arousal.

But State Coroner Imran Abdul Hamid said that suicide was also a possibility. He added that the 48-year-old restaurant boss, who was not married, suffered from depression and was believed to have harboured suicidal tendencies.

Mr Yeo was found dead in a cubicle at Club One Seven Spa & Gym - which is strictly for men only and has membership cards that list no names but only numbers. The court heard that he arrived on a motorbike at about 2pm on Nov 19 last year.

Nude photos taken of alleged teen prostitution victim - Ottawa - CBC News: An Ottawa teenager says one of three girls accused of running a teenage prostitution ring took photos of her while she was passed out naked in a bathtub.

The 16-year-old, who was 15 at the time of the alleged incident, told an Ottawa courtroom she went to what was billed as a house party with the "ringleader" and another of the accused.

When she arrived with two friends, she said it was actually the home of the older sister of one of the accused and there wasn’t a party going on.
