lauren and zack ... plus 3

Heart. Break.

2011-01-04T23:46:00.001-06:00

I'm just sick! The Hogs gave us a fantastic game, but not a fantastic end. Still proud to be a Razorback fan! We had a super fun year. But maybe Mallett will have to stay now. I mean. He can't let his last pass in college be an interception!! Life moves on. Todo lists to make......

We've got spirit! How 'bout you?!

2011-01-04T19:09:00.001-06:00

Let's get this party goin'! The anticipation is killing me!

Our Weekend

2011-01-04T00:12:00.001-06:00

We had a great weekend! It was pretty low-key with some fun things thrown in.

Let's see... here are my pictures for what we did Friday night (New Year's Eve)...

Yup. That's it. Nothing. We were lame old fogees and stayed home! We did however, stay up until midnight.

BUT. Then the excitement began. On Sunday, Zack's brother AK brought us a treasure trove of expiring groceries from Ozark Natural Foods (where he works)! Oh my word there was so much good stuff!!!

Lots of blocks and games were played. I was pretty impressed with Sara for doing the same pattern from the inside out on this tower -- including the size of the lego piece!

Ever the diva...

More puzzles ... In fact, I did more puzzles than I cared to this weekend. About six of the kids' jigsaw puzzles got mixed in together, so Sara and I spent a good chunk of the day today putting them all back together.

Lots of smiles from this pretty baby...

Zack took the day off today, since the holiday (New Year's) was on a Saturday. That's why I can include Monday in our weekend recap :D We mostly just piddled around the house, cleaning (always) and playing.

Around 4:45, the phone rang, and it was Zack's mom. I love seeing her number on caller id at that time of day, because I know it probably inovlves me not having to cook supper, heh. Sure enough! She took us to Taco Bueno (their food beats 90% of Mexican sit-down restaurants), and then to Braums! It was soooooo good and fun!

Cute Tucker boy. He stayed shockingly clean throughout this episode.

Sara and Nannie shared a banana split. Yum!

I have to be careful of dairy because Paisley gets pretty uncomfortable (i.e. doesn't sleep) if I have cream/yogurt/milk, etc. But ... This is heaven in a cone right there, y'all. Peanut butter cup ice cream in a waffle cone, dipped in Hershey's magic shell with salted toasted almonds. Eat your heart out, Maggie! :-) It'll be worth a sleepless night if it happens! (as long as it's not tonight... or tomorrow night)

It was a great, relaxing weekend. AND NOW. I'm ready for some sweet, sugary FOOTBALL! Tomorrow (I guess it's today now) is the Sugar Bowl. Woo pig sooie! Go Razorbacks! :D

Gingerbread Train

2011-01-03T23:35:00.001-06:00

On Friday (New Year's Eve), Mom brought a fun project to do with the kids -- a Gingerbread Train! We had a blast! And I think it turned out cute considering a toddler and a preschooler decorated it :-)

Ready to go!

This is more complicated than it looks...

Ready for some candy! (Notice the cracked wall of the engine -- we were lucky to get this far!)

Finished product!

Sara loved squirting the icing

We stole a gingerbread man cookie from Mom for the engineer :-)

They were proud of this :-)

Tucker did all those little balls! (With Mom's help) I was impressed.

Sad little wheel.... :P

Tucker sneaking some icing...

We had a grand time! Thanks to Mom (Mawmaw/Grandmama :-) for the fun day!

I love the blanket prints on her arm!

(The rest of) December

2010-12-28T22:52:00.001-06:00

We got so busy DOING during December, that I haven't had time to write it all down! I do have pictures of everything, though, so I'm going to let them speak for themselves. (what kind of convoluted English is that...?!)

We did soooooooo much fun stuff this December! Christmas definitely took all month. :-)

The Conductor

2010-12-28T22:19:00.001-06:00

Tucker does this pretty much every time there is classical/violin music on (which is most of the time we're in the car). It's so sweet and funny that I couldn't not sneak a video.

There is nothing cuter or cuddlier than a baby in a bath towel

2010-12-28T21:16:00.001-06:00

Haha! I guess the bath really wore her out!

2010-12-23T20:43:00.001-06:00

I love how encouraging my kids are. On seeing Tucker's building block house, Sara just said, "Oh TUCKER! That's AWWWESOME!" :-)

2010-12-23T09:49:00.001-06:00

Allow me to list the items in this outfit:

• Razorback cheerleader outfit
• Bright pink "belt" (ribbon from a gift bag)
• Cardigan from Sunday dress
• Upside-down butterfly wings
• Rubber rain boots

Do we need Stacey and Clinton yet??? :-)

Adorable wall-hanging my cousin made!

What can you say?

2010-12-17T10:38:00.001-06:00

Sara just came out in these clothes. Funny kid! And to top it off, she yelled at Tucker: "TUCKER! Do you love my shirt?!" Tucker is already well-trained and replied, "I LOVE it, Sara!" :-)

Good morning from some Blake girls :-)

In a picture: Life with a boy

2010-12-15T10:40:00.001-06:00

I just heard a crash and this is what I found. A football on the ground next to (more) broken ornaments. Life with Tucker... exactly.

Driving around looking at lights. Merry Christmas!

Sooo... One day after scoring a free computer, I won a $100 iTunes gift card. Go me :D

Christmas 2010 - Day 9: Annual Family Movie Night

2010-12-10T10:44:00.001-06:00

Every year we go over to my mom's house for Christmas movies! This year was no different. It was a pretty crazy busy day, and we didn't get the movies started until 7:30. So all we were able to watch was a short cartoon nativity story, and the beginning of Dennis the Menace's Christmas movie. It's always fun though! Tonight's fun activity is another birthday party for Sara! Jay and Betty weren't able to come to her party so they want to have us over for supper and cake. No complaining here! ;-)

I'll leave you with this adorable picture from yesterday. Just makes me smile to see it!

Christmas Cookies/Sugar Thief

2010-12-09T15:46:00.001-06:00

My favorite Christmas cookie is the sand tart! (aka "worm" cookies in our house) Mom makes them every year, and it isn't Christmas until I've had one. This is what it looks like...

Sara said she wanted one. Then she decided she didn't like the "peanuts" (pecans). She said she DID like the "surgar," though. Evidently so. Here's her cookie as I later found it.

Christmas 2010 - Day 8: Fun City

2010-12-09T06:01:00.001-06:00

When is a trip to Fun City not just a trip to Fun City?? When it's December, of course! :-) That was our big event for Wednesday, but I think it still counts for sure! After all, that's a lot of Christmas music in the car. ;-)

4 Months Old!

2010-12-08T16:02:00.001-06:00

Paisley, you are four months old! I can barely even believe it. (I know... I say that every month.)

Not a lot has changed this month, except that you are still growing! You're a little over 13 pounds now, still my petite little girl (though that's actually the 50th percentile for breastfed baby girls).

You are still a great sleeper. You sleep 12 hours at night (9:30p-9:30a), with one waking around 5:45-6am to eat, and you take a long nap each afternoon from 2:30~6:00p.

Oh my word, you are a happy baby! You smile on cue (the cue being smiling at you!), and you are giggling a lot these days. You LOVE peek-a-boo, and you also think it's hilarious when I blow a little puff in your face. You suck your breath in really big, and grin and giggle. You talk a LOT, and when you do, you make the funniest faces. You are such a social little girl. In fact, if you are crying (and it's not because you're hungry, wet, or tired), it's most likely because you are lonely! You don't like to be out of the loop. If we are driving in the dark, I have to turn the light on over your seat, or else you cry because you think you're by yourself.

We all just crazy love you! Tucker is quite protective of you. A funny story from this past month: Nannie was teasing Tucker, and said, "Hey Tucker, does Paisley need a spanking?" He immediately put his arm in front of you and hollered, "NO! You stop that, Nannie!" =o We all cracked up at that. Such a sweet (though sometimes overly aggressive!) brother.

Here are some pictures of you from today, talking to Mama

Christmas 2010 - Days 5 & 6: Movies!

2010-12-07T06:09:00.001-06:00

The last couple of days have been pretty low-key. We did get a little Christmas fun in though! Sunday night, Sara had a pretty good cough (still does), so we stayed home and watched the Grinch while folding laundry. :P Last night was my dad's birthday, so we went over there to celebrate. I got Disney's A Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey to watch. We actually didn't like it very well... But it still counts!

Today will be some more crafts. We're having so much fun dragging Christmas out like this!
