Report Card Pick Up/Parent Conferences

Parent conferences will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 12-6 p.m. Parents may pick up their child's report card any time from 7:40 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. in the student lunchroom. Teachers will be available in their classrooms from 12-6 p.m. for any parent who wishes to have a brief conference.

Evolution of Hip Hop

Hip Hop Nation presents "Evolution of Hip Hop" Showcase this Friday, April 6th at 6 pm in the Lane Tech auditorium. Tickets are $5 at the door. Performances by HHN, Glee Club, Steppin' Club, Majorettes AND dance teams from Jones College Prep and Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep. Please come and support the performers!

LTMakers Chicago Flag Mosaic Project

After an 8 month stay at Navy Pier, the LTMakers Chicago Flag Mosaic project (http://bit.ly/chicagoflagmosaic) has moved to the next stop on its tour...the Museum of Science and Industry! The flag is part of MSI's temporary Spring Break exhibit Make Shop that runs until April 8. At the end the hands-on experience, attendees will see the flag along with a few other featured projects / Makers.

DISCOVER MAKING

Three easy steps

This facilitated experience walks you through building a customized wearable in three stages: vinyl cutting, 3D printing, and LED circuitry. As you work, you'll learn about problem-solving skills, the diverse community of Chicago makers, and the positive impact that making can have. Make Shop is not included in Museum Entry, and requires an additional, timed-entry ticket available as part of Explorer ticket packages. For ages 6 and up. Children ages 6 to 12 must be with a Make Shop-ticketed chaperone (18 or older).

Upcoming Testing Dates

PSAT:

The PSAT will be given to all 9th and 10th graders on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. All remaining grade levels will be in their advisories beginning at 8 a.m.. Lane will be on a special bell schedule that day.

SAT:

The SAT will be given to all 11th graders on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. The SAT will start at 8AM promptly.

It will be a non-attendance day for 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students. All 7th and 8th grade students must be in school all day. 11th graders will be dismissed for the rest of the day after the test is completed.

Spring Break

I-Nights Tickets On Sale

Tickets are selling fast for this weekend's International Nights. Tickets will only be sold at the door for the Saturday matinee. Tickets will not be sold at the door for the 7 p.m. shows. Tickets may be purchased in the main office during school hours. Tickets are $10! Get them before they sell out!

LTMaker Lab Bazaar

All items in the LTMakers Bazaar are designed, prototyped, made and managed by Innovation and Creation Lab students. 100% of the profits go to resources for students and professional development opportunities for the Lane Tech Computer Science department. For now, all orders are placed by contacting the group via the information on their product page. Everything culminates with a bazaar on Thursday, December 21st from 3:30-5:30pm in the Lane Tech cafeteria. It is open to the public and is a great way to get limited release holiday gifts. Plus, everything is made with awesome tools like laser cutters, 3D printers, 3D carvers, and vinyl cutters :). Students will be making and selling their products all the way through the end of next week, before and after the Bazaar.

This site is always live and changing. Each student group has control of their own product slides that you see. This allows them to update details, options, customizations, and more whenever they are ready. If you see something you're interested in, simply reach out to that group through their contact information on their product slide, or stop by the Bazaar and hope there are still some left :)
