Back in 2006, my intention to blog is to explore something new and just for fun. Since it is free like Blogspot and Wordpress.com. Plus, it’s really cool when you can tell your friend or chicks to visit your blog at lankapo.com rite ?. I am quite popular at that time.

So when l heard and confirmed by my colleague that you can make money online using Adsense , Nuffnang (Malaysian Ad Network) and others ads network, my intention totally changed to money now. So I just write what other blogger already done. Things like “Increase Your Traffic”,”Improve Your SEO Ranking” or “Make Money Online” are too saturated in this blogsphere. That’s add my blog to million of Making Money Online blog and just a John Chow wannabe. How can I tell other what to do when I am still a newbie too just like them.

Feeling Inspired

After reading How to Find Your Passion by Glen Allsopp from Pluginid.com , I was inspired. I never look blogging the same way again. I should find my passion instead. The author guide you to find your inner strength and what you suppose to write about rather than following others foot step. Make your own.

Recently, I  only manage to update my blog once a week. Totally blank.I cannot think of something new on making money online, struggle to find the motivation to write and to come up with post ideas. Now I want to write all about my experience along the way on making money online, blogging tools and plugin that I want to share and anything that make me feel good by  sharing it for benefit of others. Sharing and not teaching, remember that.

My experience when I shares about using Tune Card was totally worth it. I manage to earn money through Adsense unintentionally and get high SEO ranking for the keyword of Tune Money and Tune Card. My post on experience using Tune Card, a prepaid Visa card to cash out money from PayPal become popular since I was the first to blog about it.

FYI, It took 12 month just to get $ 2 through Adsense, but only 2 months to reach $100 when I post about tune card. See,when you post a unique content that benefit others, money will come after that.

Lesson Learned Here

So if you want to be popular and become authority in your niche, be unique and share your experience and knowledge that will benefit others. Not just writing and following what already being told. Your reader will be like “I have seen that before”, “hey, I already read that in ProBlogger” hehe.

When you are expert at certain thing, you will write like a river flow . Ideas will keep coming. Remember money will follow  when you capture your reader intention.They will keep coming back to hear more from you. Just make sure you enjoy the excitement through blogging, because that is more important.

We can find a job,make loan or marry to a rich husband/wife to get money,but happiness is precious.

OK OK ..I am just kidding ok just want to add spice to the story. Actually, Tengku Zafrul invited me to have lunch with him at Chilis, Bangsar. Thanks to Jennifer for organize this lunch. Tengku Zafrul acknowledges my contribution as Unofficial Customer Service for Tune Money  answering questions from user in my blog. As I said before this what you give you will get back.

I took the opportunity to meet him and get to know about Tune Money. A friend of mine suggest that I should bring slide or presentation of proposal to show to him. But I passed that idea, since Tengku Zafrul just want to buy me lunch, so I should enjoy it. I was quite nervous actually since I am not good with PR not that famous blogger like Kenny Sia.Usually my boss will do the talking part when we are having a meeting.So with my diary and camera, I went to Bangsar un prepared.

During lunch,we chat about football,Liverpool,Tune Money and even family. I feel like, I just met a new friend. :). Totally different character when he appeared in The Firm Season 2.

Anyway, I did suggest to him that Tune Money need to have a blog. It is the best way to get connected with your user and I did explain about keyword and SEO too. Hopefully they will launch their blog soon since Tengku Zafrul already agree with my idea.

After having lunch, Tengku Zafrul and his Tune Money team got another meeting to attend so I have to end the “secret meeting”.Jennifer sent me back at my car.Which I have to take 20 minutes to find it walking under hot sun because I forget where I park it.After that, I drove back to my office in Shah Alam.

p/s Good news guys, Tune Money will launch Online Unit Trust soon. Another product from Tune Money.

 Guys, have you upgrade your WordPress to 2.6 aka Tyner. It is now available and name after a jazz Pianist, cool. So what to expect with this latest version, can it play piano for you

Actually, the main reason I upgrade to version 2.6 is because my WordPress was down for two days last weekend due to WordPress 2.5 bugs. I cannot access to my index file and all my entry was missing. Thanks to my hosting customer service, Serverfreak taiko aka Sam Lee for saving my blog.Within 24 hours and not mentioning on Sunday, he manage to restore back my blog. So remember to back up your blog regularly.

What I like the most about this version is the ability to upgrade your plugin online without hassle.You don’t have to download the update plugin and upload it back on to you server. Just one click, upgrade automatically, and fill in your FTP details and password, that’s all.Plus, you can preview your theme with existing entry before making a switch over publicly.

One major update is the introduction of GEARS.It is an browser extension that can speed up your WordPress loading.

Gears is an open source browser extension project started by Google that developers like us can use to give you features we wouldn’t normally be able to. There are a lot of things we can do with Gears in the future, but in this release we’ve stuck to using what’s called a “Local Server” to cache or keep a copy of commonly-used Javascript and CSS files on your computer, which can speed up the loading of some pages by several seconds (they just pop right up!)

WordPress Complete: set up, customize, and market your blog

Last week I received an email surprisingly from Google Adsense team.They warned me for having adult and mature content in one of my celebrity update blog.

They asked me to remove 2 of my posting that have adult and mature content or action will be taken.Of course they will not arrest me for not fully understand their policies. But if my account get banned, all my earning will be suspended. I heard a lot of blogger mourning because their thousand dollar income is banned by Adsense Team. So before thing get worse, better I remove all my posting with nude,topless,sex tape and explicit pictures.

To be honest, there are no such picture in my celebrity blog just tags to improve my SEO. It just hot story and juicy content hehe. But since Google Adsense did not like my idea, so to be safe I removed all my posting that is not safe to watch with my children or my boss.

Kathie from Adsense Team has clarify and explain more to make sure I understand what actually Adsense ans by mature and adult content.

I came across Turnip Blog,while fulfilling my duties on dropping my Entrecard 300 per day which I never make it.

Turnip mentions method to filter your Google Adsense’s Ad from MFA (Made For Ad) site and spammed sites.It is actually the combination of Adsense Filter List and service called Adsblacklist.In return, you will get higher paying key words and make more money online per click. From my experience, the highest keyword that I get is $ 1.20 per click. Imagine if I can get that keyword for 10 click per day, wouldn’t that be cool. More bling bling for me

Step to create your filter list by Turnip:

1. Go to their site, sign up, Log in, and add your blog URL.
2. Click on “Generate Filter List”, select one of your blogs, and enter keywords related to it.
3. Check both the MFA (made for ads) and LCPC (low cost per click) boxes.
4. Click “Submit” and then select and copy the entire list of URLs.
5. Log into your Google AdSense account. Under the AdSense Setup tab, click on “competitive ad filter”, paste the entire list there and click save.

Easy rite, you can see your high quality ads on your site after a few hours.You can also apply the list for Yahoo Publisher Network, Chitika eMiniMalls and Google Adwords.

You might wondering if this list is comply with Google Adsense Programme Policy & Terms and Conditions?

I did some research on Google Adsense, to see if they provide tools to find out your Advertiser on your site. Yes , Google provide Adsense Preview Tools.

What is the Google AdSense preview tool?

The Google AdSense preview tool is an addition to the right-click menu for Windows Internet Explorer 6.x, allowing you to preview the ads that may show on any webpage. With just a few clicks, you can see what ads may appear on your new webpages, or make an educated decision on whether to add AdSense to your existing site pages.

Things you can do with Adsense Preview Tools

1. Verify and check the destination of ads that are on your page : ads displayed in the preview tool are in a test state, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally clicking on an ad. Clicks and impressions are not counted against the ads that display within the preview tool.
2. Check and View sample ad formats and colors : create previews of formats and color combinations within the preview tool. Choose from 2 different preview formats, plus a 12 ad spread that allows you to view more available ads at once.
3. Preview colors and setting on your page : the ‘Preview’ feature of the Color Options menu allows you to see what new color combinations would look like on existing AdSense standard ad units, right on the page. By simply selecting new border, background, or text colors from the preview tool, and clicking “Preview,” the new colors will be temporarily applied to the standard ad unit currently on your page.
4. Geo-targeted locations : select the geo-targeted location from which to view ads, allowing you to see what users in Canada will see, even if you live in Japan.

A few months ago, Muridi Mohammad from Perlis was shocked when his money has been missing from his CIMB account.He received an SMS telling him he had won RM14,000 in an Akademi Fantasia 6 (AF6) competition. All he had to do to claim his winnings was to telephone the number given.

When he called, a man claiming to be from Astro asked for Muridi’s bank account number to deposit his winnings. Though he was hesitant, he did so. Fortunately he had enough sense to give an account with little money in it.

“I gave him the account my tenant uses to pay the rent.” The CIMB account had a balance of just over RM300.

Although this case is not new, but this poor Ustaz still want to try his luck. He just gave his account number just to see wether the scammer will deposit money or not. But it turns out, the scammer manage to withdraw money from his account two times. About an hour later he checked the account and found that two payments of RM120 had been made to “I-PYMT TO COLL”.

The BIG question here, how this criminal manage to withdraw money just using user account’s number. Really strange. I think this guys are really professional,even CIMB never release a statement about their system flaw.So just use thumb rule, if the offer is too good, then it is a scam. Don’t try to outsmart them. Maybe your are dealing with international criminal :).

TIPS FROM POLICE:

- When you receive an SMS saying you have won something, always verify it with the company named in the SMS. Contact the company in Malaysia and not the number given to you in the SMS.

- If the message cannot be verified, ignore it.

- If you are a victim, lodge a report.

- You should never provide your bank details, ATM card or PIN number to a third party. The same goes for Internet banking identification or password.

- Do not open a bank account for a third party. If you have done it, close it immediately and lodge a police report.

- If you are asked to call a number to verify your gift and the person on the other end claims to be Malaysian but has a foreign accent, be suspicious.

- Pay attention to the caution notices placed at ATMs.

So guys, please be careful when you receive email asking you to login for security ,website maintenance or  what ever especially involved your online financial account. This criminal has become more advanced and skillfull, just don’t fall into their trap. Just imagine your income from making money online drained away by your simple mistake.

Thank you Google Inc for the money. It took me 12 month to reach my first 100 dollar. :). After reading a lot of forum and e-book, maybe I can shorten that.

I didn’t realize the payment was ready until one blogger asked me about my payment. When I checked may payment history, the money has been bank in to Western Union Quick Cash on 23rd June. I thought it was going to be next month.

Anyway, the funny thing was, I wrote my wife name as the authorised user. Meaning I cannot cash it out, so I have to ask my wife to do it. You know, she was really excited since a lot of people still have no idea how to make money online especially using blog here in Malaysia.So you know she can bragg about it :). (Actually, when I put her name, I did not think that one day I could make it to 100 dollar mark, so that is why ) But anyway, I put her name because I love her , rite sayang

She went to RHB bank near her office. The Bank staff there was so nice and entertain her and told her that many people come here to take money from Google through Western Union but they never asked . So since there were nobody else around, the staff asked her about how she got the money. My wife simply answered “BLOG” hehe.

The process is so easy and simple. Just bring your Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) and valid ID. Fill in the form. That’s all. Please remember the amount of your payment and your sender information, which is Google Inc. Who else
