<itunes:summary> It’s great living in Atlanta because so many people come to or through here as they travel. Last month, one of my all time author heroes, Philip Yancey, stopped by. We didn’t get a chance to do a podcast, but I wish all of you could have heard the conversations.

Meanwhile, a brand new friend/author from the west coast stopped by to visit this week. We have a mutual friend who thought we should meet. Josh Butler is the author of a new book called “The Skeletons in God’s Closet”. I read enough of it to know that Josh is a good thinker and writer so….we pulled out the microphones and spent a while talking about things like Hell, the bible, thoughts we grew up with vs. thoughts we have now.

This is an interesting conversation and hopefully a catalyst to get you to read Josh’s book, or to start a conversation about your own thoughts about some present debatable conversations that are going on.
Feel free to let me know in the comments section what you think about our conversation about The Skeletons In God's Closet.

<itunes:summary>Conversations about…. Prayer, meditation, mindfulness. Does it really matter?

Science Mike dropped by my house again last week. I wish we could have recorded all of our conversations from the night. Mike is one of the smartest and the wisest men I have ever known. And I have known a lot. This podcast came about just because we thought our conversations on Prayer and Meditation should be heard by some of you who have sent me some questions about that. We delve into what our brain does when we pray. What is the difference between prayer and meditation. Why should we pray. Doubts about God hearing or caring.

And as usual, Mike has a way of opening some doors that give us answers, as well as more questions. But, in the middle of all of these thoughts he has a profound hope that is a great part of the mystery that goes beyond understanding. Be sure to follow him on the web by going to Ask Science Mike. Throw him some deep questions watch for his unique and thoughtful responses.

Also, please let me know what you think of the stuff you heard here today, and let you friends know that this podcast is up and running. I’d love to hear from you what you would like to hear, and who you’d like me to interview. We are just getting started. Hoping to give you a lot to think about.
