Founded in 1936 by the grandparents of today&amp;#39;s owners, it&amp;#39;s always a pleasure to dine here. The food is consistently great, the service is attentive, and when Dan Diaz isn&amp;#39;t around personally taking care of things, his sister Sandy is.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I married into a family of longtime Santa Paulans, and getting to know &lt;i&gt;La Familia Diaz&lt;/i&gt; has been a real treat. My wife and her mother love the &lt;i&gt;tostada compuesta&lt;/i&gt;, which combines chile colorado and chile verde in a mouthwatering combination at a price so low you&amp;#39;ll wonder how they make a profit. They have a Sunday brunch that&amp;#39;s worth the drive from Ventura or Santa Clarita, and do a special buffet every Mother&amp;#39;s Day, with Dan grilling up special items on an outdoor grill, as well as on other occasions throughout the year.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;You won&amp;#39;t find better quality and service than &lt;i&gt;Familia Diaz&lt;/i&gt; anywhere in the county, and probably the state as well.
