Just wanted to let you know that we are seeking stroke survivors that are younger adults and/or teens to 50 years old to assist with sharing the AHA mission in our stroke survivors casting call. Although we may have to broaden the age range we certainly want to make a statement to everyone.

WHY YOUNGER PARTICIPANTS? The annual stroke survivors casting call will produce a video that will share the warning signs and/or risk factors so that others may understand and identify that it can happen at any age. Unfortunately it is expected of older adults but as we all know it can happen to anyone!

Our goal is to feature a maximum of 5-6 diverse survivors including Latino participants. This video message will be aired at the 2^nd annual Power of Laughter Workshop & Comedy Luncheon on Saturday, September 21, 2013, see attachment. Therefore my request is to engage our community partners in helping to secure participants. Please don’t hesitate to provide me with names and contact information of individuals you who would like to share their experience in the video.

The Project seeks to recruit, train and certify refugee and immigrant women to become home-based child care providers. Through our program, we envision raising the bar of culturally familiar care in our communities. The program aims to provide an income for our participants and other community members, by allowing people to seek outside employment knowing their children are in good hands.

We have recently concluded our pilot program and are now recruiting participants for a second cohort. I am wondering if you are aware of anyone who may be interested in our program. If so, I am happy to take referrals and follow up with an informational session. Our program will run mid-May to the end of June, and the only requirement is for women to have legal status in the US. The Federal Public Defender for the Western District of Pennsylvania is accepting applications
for the position of Investigator for the trial unit of its Pittsburgh headquarters. The Federal Public
Defender represents indigent criminal defendants in the federal courts in Pittsburgh, Johnstown and Erie,
Pennsylvania.
Job Description: The Investigator will assist attorneys by investigating and analyzing cases, locate and
interview victims, witnesses and law enforcement personnel, locate and gather records, reports and
documents, and serve subpoenas. The Investigator will visit and recreate crime scenes by measuring,
photographing and sketching, and must be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with
individuals and agencies that interact with this office, prepare clear oral and written reports, and testify in
court.
Requirements and Qualifications: To qualify, the applicant must be a high school graduate or
equivalent. Qualified applicants must possess a minimum of three years investigative experience. The
position requires considerable resourcefulness, creativity, initiative and drive, as well as tact, integrity and
discretion. A knowledge of computer applications is highly desirable, as is a fluency in Spanish. A
driver's license and automobile insurance is required.
Salary/Benefits. This is a full-time position with salary and benefits based on qualifications and
experience. The position is in the excepted service and does not have the tenure rights of the competitive
Civil Service, however the position does carry regular government employment benefits including health
and life insurance, retirement, and the Thrift Savings Plan. The starting salary range is $58,519-$98,562,
and will be based on education and years of relevant experience consistent with federal guidelines and
regulations. This position is subject to mandatory Electronic Funds Transfer (direct deposit) participation
for payment of net pay. Employment will be considered provisional pending the successful outcome of a
