Training and certification is so important when beginning to learn eyelash extensions.

When you are given the right stepping stones, the proper technique and tips from our experienced trainers, will help you to feel comfortable in starting the procedure. Whenever I train my students, I make sure they have got the fundamentals down and that they feel confident to practice the extensions on family and friends. I also try to share with them my experiences and the little tips and tricks that I have taught myself. I believe experience is the key in any profession and I find it very rewarding in helping my trainees and letting them know I am here for them and help support them even after training. I want my trainees to thrive and succeed!

Removing Lashes

Whenever I am removing eyelashes, I always elevate the client up. I also apply pads under the eyes so the solution does not get on skin. I really like to use a microbrush as my tool of choice, other tools that may work well are an eyelash comb, disposable mascara brushes. Just do not use anything with cotton. The best advice I can give you, is to let the product work for you. I believe it takes about 10 minutes with the product on the lashes for them to easily slide off. When you are sliding them off, do not be forceful, if they do not come off right away after 10 minutes, apply more solution to that area. Be patient!! After the lashes have all come off, I remove the pads, clean and prep the eyes with protein remover, dry the eyes, reprep and now I am ready to lash.

Removing lashes and cleaning up the eyes is so important during a touch up appointment and when you are removing old lashes and beginning a new set. Take the time to do the clean up! Your set will look fresh and more natural.

During a touch up, I like to dedicate the first 20 minutes going through the lashes, getting them straightened out and then I look to see if there are any lashes that are grown out or any that may have stuck together. Take the time to do this!! I do not like to pick off, unless I know it will not take out my client's natural lash. If anyone has any thoughts on removing lashes, please share!
