If you’ve been out to any of our shows this year you’d know that we’ve been playing a lot of new music that hasn’t been recorded yet. Well seeing as how our last album was released in 2013 we knew that we were well overdue for a new record, so to get the ball rolling we narrowed down a few producers and ended up choosing a man who not only had a great resume and reputation, but was the most excited to work with us and genuinely loved the music that we wanted to make.

Brian Moncarz is the protege and understudy of none other than legendary Canadian Producer Bob Ezrin who has worked on everything from Alice Cooper to Pink Floyd to KISS to Peter Gabriel and much more. Brian has worked on albums by The Reason, Neverending White Lights, Bleeker Ridge, Poor Young Things, Moneen, The Junction and many more.

To be honest, we’ve never had more fun making and recording music in our lives. For both ourselves and the fans, we made it a point to push ourselves beyond anything we’ve done before. The notes we sang? Higher. The solos we played? Faster. And the songs we wrote? Better. We’ve never been more proud of our work and we’re very excited to share it with all of you.

Although we can’t quite share all of the details, we can tell you that this will be a very dynamic, heavy, super-catchy, hard-hitting, quick, dirty, but short little EP consisting of the 3 new tracks titled “Sin”, “Bright Lights” and “Southern Lips”. The cover and the title of the EP will be revealed in the coming months, and the release date will more than likely be sometime in the fall.

For the second year in a row we’ve been selected by Kitchener’s Big Music Fest to participate in the Breaking Bands competition. On July 10th we’ll be playing the main stage at McClennan Park anywhere between 2-7pm. When we find out our set time we will definitely let you know. Sets will be fairly short, but the louder and more of you there are there, the more it helps us out!

Should we win, we’ll make it to the final 5 and play again that night after 7pm, where they’ll choose a grand prize winner who will receive a whole whack load of awesome stuff including $2,000 cash.

Last year we were lucky enough to share the main stage with some amazing bands like Aerosmith, Slash, Bryan Adams, Styx and more. This year we’ll get to share the stage with some of our very favorite bands… Soundgarden, Jane’s Addiction, Monster Truck and many more!

We were really excited when they told us they’d be using our song “Runnin’ Out Of Time” as the opening to the Canada vs Denmmark game. And then we received an email from Craig Chambers at TSN stating that they’d chosen to use our song “State of Confusion” as the opening for the Gold Medal Game between Canada & Russia.

Although it didn’t really sink in until later in the day, that our music would be broadcast live, simultaneously to every single home across the country from coast to coast. This is one of the most amazing and insane opportunities we’ve ever received, so we’d like to thank Craig Chambers, TSN and anyone else involved with the programming of music, highlights and content for choosing our music and giving us such a huge opportunity.

We’d also like to thank the IIHF and Team Canada for doing what they do best in bringing home the gold. Lastly we’d like to congratulate our fellow Toronto musicians “Breached” for also being chosen by TSN to have their music broadcast during the tournament. And now finally for those of you who missed it, here’s the opening video for the gold medal game…

But the craziness didn’t end there…

Frontman of Last Bullet Bryan Fontez just happens to be a DJ and supervisor at Real Sports when he’s not on stage. He happened to make it into the bar just in time to take a short clip of the intro, while yelling out the words.

Ironically enough fans at the bar happened to be looking at him funny not realizing that the lead singer of the band they were listening to on the broadcast was right in front of them…

And the night still didn’t end there. Bryan was then invited to DJ the official Team Canada after party for the players, their friends, family, the IIHF, TSN and Hockey Canada. Not only did he get to meet the players but he got to hoist the cup, kiss the cup and wear gold…

Oh and both of our songs “Runnin Out Of Time” and “State Of Confusion” were also added to the Leaf playlist at the Air Canada Centre, here is a video that a good friend and fan of ours named Kristina took while our music was blasting over the speakers during intermission >: D

Let’s just say 2015 is off to a good start for Last Bullet.

Last Bullet Frontman Bryan Fontez here! For those of you that may have missed it. I recently became a part-time member of the hard rocking, instrumental band known as The Unchained.

We’ve all been buddies for the past few years and have become closer and closer through many shared stages and drunken nights of fun and partying. As you may not know, The Unchained are normally an Instrumental Hard Rock band.

However they recently expressed interest in working with a singer, so we got together to be musical and hit it off immediately. What followed was some great chemistry that lead to some even better idea’s.

We ended up writing a few songs one of which indirectly became about the Toronto Music scene and the history that has been experienced in between the walls of every legendary venue in the city. With a small budget we decided to produce/record/track the song ourselves and then also direct/shoot/edit a music video for it ourselves.

I’d also like to appease any concerns by stating that Last Bullet is my first and only love. My band are my brothers and my #1 priority, but when I can fit in the time to work with other artists and make good music or learn and try new things, I’ll always take that chance.

With that said, after a lot of fun and hard work. I give you the final product… Enjoy.
