As we have said in the beginning, we have our answer and no doubt, the iPhone 5S is the best smartphone Apple has ever made, however the only thing would create difficulty is the price so, if its all about money then Nexus 5 would be the best deal else we'd always choose the iPhone 5S.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will cost you around five hundred pounds, so it is not a bad deal at all.

The Sony Xperia Z

Finally, the Sony Xperia Z is a slightly older model than the Xperia Z1 (only by around six months though), but giving up a few top end specs does mean that you still get a great phone just for a more affordable price.
The Xperia Z “only” has a quad core 1.5 GHz processor, though there is still 2 GB of RAM, so it is the slowest phone on the list, but this is still a very powerful processor. There is a solid five inch screen with shatter proof and scratch resistant glass along with a nice 13 MP camera too, so it is better than the Samsung, and still a 2 MP front facing cam.

Internal memory specs are the same 16 GB with up to 64 GB on SD card, and the Z runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but again will take that 4.4 Kit Kat upgrade no problem. You get IP57 certification this time, so you are good in depths of up to a metre for up to thirty minutes.

You are looking at paying about £480 for the Sony Xperia Z, which means that you will be saving some cash whilst still getting a great smartphone, and you are not compromising too much either. The processor might be slower, but it is still faster than that found on many a top end model these days, so that should not be a concern.

Just because you are looking for a waterproof phone does not mean that you should settle for anything less than a great smartphone, and this list just goes to show that there are some very powerful and high end choices out there.

Enhanced Screen - Apple is currently testing larger iPhone screen options so it's quite possible that the screen on iPhone 6 will be 4.5 to 5 inches, and the rumor mill claims that a 6-inch screen is not out of the question, allowing for full HD resolution of 1,820 x 1,080 or more.

The company has filed a patent to research the idea of curved, wrap-around AMOLED screen that uses thin-film technology for sharp images with less power drain. In addition, hinges may be added to create a screen that can unfold to double its size if desired.

Also included in the patent were possibilities for a gesture control, facial recognition, and a 3D screen option.

Near Field Communication (NFC) - It appears that Apple is ready to join other smartphone manufacturers and equip the iPhone 6 with NFC using fingerprint technology.

Improved Power - There are two possibilities being discussed. One is that the iPhone 6 will house an A7 chip to more efficiently use battery power; the other is that the phone will be solar powered because Apple secured a patent in February 2103 for running portable devices with solar panels.

Upgraded Camera - Apple's online ads tout iSight Pro technology in the iPhone 6 offering a camera that snaps at 12 or 13 megapixels and an f/1.8 aperture for extremely high-quality photos.

Faster Connection Speed - The technology gurus are expecting iPhone six to have improved 4G LTE. Still in speculation is the addition of 802.11ac chips from Broadcom which would provide super-fast "5G WiFi" capabilities. In January 2013, Apple partnered with Broadcom to use these chips in its technology, but it's questionable whether they will show up in iPhone 6.

Brisk Processing Performance - It's a good bet that the phone will start at 128GB. Performance and graphics are expected to run two times faster than today's iPhone.

Have you tried partitioning your Mac drive on your own? Well, if you have not, then you may not find this task straightforward. Partitioning Mac drive not only makes data storage efficient, but also makes it easily accessible whenever you need it. Based on the requirements, one can slice his Mac drive into 16 partitions (max.). However, you must have a reliable Mac partition manager application to get this task accomplished without any failure. Alternatively, you can use Mac inbuilt Disk Utility as well to partition Mac drive.

Why to partition Mac drive

To know how, suppose that your Mac drive has the only partition (i.e. Macintosh HD) or saying it is not partitioned would be more precise. Apart from the system files, it contains your personal as well as professional data. In case your Mac suffers from a disaster, you would have to reinstall the Mac that causes huge amount of data loss. Conversely, if your Mac data is stored on different partitions separate from the system files, any issue with Mac OS X cannot harm it at all.
In case your Mac has multiple partitions, you can use one of these partitions to install another operating system (i.e. Windows or Mac). Multi boot makes your Mac data accessible even if one of these operating systems is crashed or unable to boot.

Partitioning Mac drive with Mac partition manager

Mac OS X allows partitioning its hard drive into several partitions during as well as after its installation. For this, you should have a reliable Mac partition manager application installed on your Mac, which makes partitioning unsophisticated, even though it is not.

To begin, launch partition manager application and select the disk that you need to partition. Select the number of partitions you want to create on your Mac drive. Formatting Mac Drive

Formatting a hard drive refers to two completely different mechanisms, one is the process of deleting all data collectively and quickly, whereas the other is to make a hard drive able to allow performing data read/write operations on it. Both of these processes share same name, though. However, both refer to completely different processes. Since we need to partition Mac drive, we would apparently discuss the latter one.

Important: In case you need to format a new hard drive, you need to connect it to your Mac. Conversely, you can directly start partitioning your Mac drive, as it is already formatted for Mac.

To format a new drive, launch Disk Utility and select it among the drives listed at the left. With this drive selected, go to the Erase tab at the right. Here, in the Format menu, choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and specify a Name for this drive, and then click Erase button to start formatting.

Partitioning Mac Drive

Once this drive is formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled), you can start partitioning it. Before this, with the same drive selected, go to the Partition tab at the right and click Options button. In this window, select GUID Partition Table (on your Intel-based Mac) and click OK button.

Remember: You cannot partition Mac drive on a PowerPC-based Mac system after installing Mac, as it uses Apple Partition Map as the Partition Map Scheme.

In the Volume Scheme dropdown menu, choose the number of partitions you want to create on your Mac. The number of partitions you choose through this menu will slice your Mac drive into its equal number of partitions. Select a partition and set its properties (Name, Format, and Size) beneath the Volume Information area. Now, repeat this step for other Mac volumes as well. When finished, click Apply button to save them.

Resizing Mac Volumes

(a) Once you partition Mac drive and save your data, you may anytime need to enlarge one or more of these partitions. For this, you will either use the free space (if available) or shrink other volumes to create free space, and then enlarge the required volumes. For this, launch Disk Utility, select Mac drive in its left pane and go to the Partition tab at the right. In the graphical view of this drive, hold a volume from its bottom boundary and drag it upwards to shrink it. Likewise, shrink other volumes having free space (if required). Now, to enlarge a volume, hold its bottom boundary and drag it downwards to enlarge it. When finished, click Apply button to save the changes made so far.

(b) In case you need to resize the boot volume on your Mac drive, you must meet the following criterion:

Boot volume on your Mac is the primary volume that you cannot (though you can, it can be risky) modify while booting from it. Therefore, you need some other bootable media (i.e. Recovery HD or Mac OS X boot disc). In reality, if you are running Mac OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, then boot from Recovery HD, whereas for earlier versions of Mac (i.e. earlier than Mac OS 10.7 Lion) boot disc is required.

Booting from Recovery HD

Go to Apple menu and choose Restart in the context menu. When booting, hold down the Command + R keys or the Option key right after you hear Mac startup tone. After that, release these keys when gray screen appears. When displayed, between Macintosh HD and Recovery HD choose Recovery HD to boot from, and then launch Disk Utility.

Booting from Mac OS X boot Disc

Insert Mac OS X boot disc and restart your Mac. Right after you hear Mac startup tone, hold down the C key to boot from the inserted disc. When gray screen appears, release the C key. In the Mac OS X boot window, select a preferred language and click Next button. Now, launch Disk Utility in Mac OS X Utilities screen.

In Disk Utility, select Mac drive in the left pane and simultaneously go to the Partition tab at the right. Here, in the graphical view of the hard drive, select Mac boot volume (i.e. the volume named as Macintosh HD) and drag it upwards by holding its bottom boundary or the bottom-right corner to shrink it. Alternatively, to enlarge boot volume, drag it downwards by holding its bottom boundary or the bottom-right corner. When you are finished with resizing Mac boot volume, click Apply button to save the changes. Exit Disk Utility and all other opened windows, and then restart the Mac normally. Make sure you eject the boot disc. After booting normally, verify the changes you have made.

Repairing Mac Disk and the associated Permissions

Each Mac volume has a set of particular permissions associated with it, which limit the user-access to these volumes. Sometimes, you face difficulties when accessing one or more Mac volumes, which can be due to corruption in the permissions of those volumes.

Disk Utility in Mac OS X facilitates repairing the permissions associated to the Mac volumes. For this, you need to launch Disk Utility, select the inaccessible volume in its left pane, and then click Repair Disk Permissions button in the First Aid tab (default tab) at the right. In case you are unable to install some applications or facing any permission related error when installing any app, you need to repair disk permissions of the Mac boot volume after booting in Recovery HD or Mac boot disc.

Spec sheets list the technical specifications of a phone model, and they're supposed to help us decide which phone is the best one to choose. But they're so full of abbreviations and technical jargon that it can be tough to know what exactly it is that you're looking at. Today we're telling you how to buy the best mobile phone for an average user. So if you want something that's decent, but don't necessarily want to spend over five hundred pounds on a top of the line device, then here's what you need to look for.

When in Doubt, Go for a Cheap Android Phone...

We're going to get in to individual specs in a moment. But first, if you really don't know what to look for then the best advice we can give you is to go for a cheap Android phone. There are plenty of choices when it comes to Android phones, meaning you'll get lots of options when it comes to how your phone looks and feels. But there actually isn't that much difference between one cheap Android phone and another. You're likely to get a very satisfactory experience no matter which model you choose to go for. Screen Specs...

You'll also see a listing for screen material. In order, from normal to exceptionally good, those materials are: LCD, TFT LCD, AMOLED, Super AMOLED, Retina. There's nothing wrong with an LCD screen, you'll simply get a slightly better picture with more brightness the further up the list of screen material you go. The other two screen specs that you'll see are resolution and PPI. Resolution will tell you how bright and clear the picture will be, whilst Ppi (or pixels per inch) will tell you how crisp and defined the picture will be. The higher the numbers, the better the display on your phone will look. You shouldn't worry too much about these numbers, since almost all smart phones have great displays nowadays.

The processor on your mobile phone is like the engine in your car, and the more powerful it is, the faster your phone will be. Processor specs are sometimes also listed under CPU, but it's the same thing. Don't worry too much about the name of the processor, it's the number that's important. For an average phone you should look for a processor that's about 1400 MHz (or 1.4 GHz, it's the same) for a good phone experience. Also look out for processors that say they're dual or quad core, since these tend to be more reliable.

RAM Specs...

Your phone needs to reserve a little bit of memory to perform every day functions, like opening apps, connecting to the internet and sending messages. This is referred to as RAM. If RAM is too low, your phone won't be very responsive, and it might freeze often, or even crash. You should look for at least 1 GB of RAM on a decent phone, which should be enough to make sure that everything is running smoothly and without problems.

Camera Specs...

All modern smart phones will come with a camera. Camera specs are measured in megapixels, or MP. The higher the number, the better your camera will be. Cameras of 5 MP or below will not take pictures that are good enough to print out or to blow up to regular size, since you'll just end up with a photo made up of little squares if you do this. You need a camera of at least 8 MP to take a good picture. The more MP you have, the more detail you will get on your photos.

Internal Memory...

Internal memory, or internal storage, refers to the amount of stuff you can store on your phone. How much you need really depends on how much music and data and how many photos and games you want to keep on your device. For an average user, around 16 GB is enough, though if you want to put your whole music collection on your device you should go for 32 GB instead. Extra memory on a phone does end up making the phone much more expensive, of course. A good tip is to look for a phone that has a Micro SD slot. This will let you go to any electronics store and buy a relatively cheap Micro SD card. You plug that card into your Micro SD slot, and you get more memory on your phone. This is usually much cheaper than buying a phone with a larger internal memory.

Connectivity...

Finally, you'll want to look at connectivity. All phones nowadays will have Bluetooth and WiFi. When it comes to internet connectivity you should have at least 3G. HSPA+ will get you faster internet speeds, and 4G will get you even faster internet speeds- though you'll need a special 4G mobile data plan with your operator to take advantage of this.
