The cast & crew of 'Temple Grandin' accept the Outstanding Made for Television Movie award onstage at the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

THE favourites were obvious at this year’s 2010 Emmy Awards, with Mad Men named Outstanding Drama Series for the third year in a row. Mastermind Matthew Weiner also claimed his third statuette in a row for Writing in a Drama Series, but shared it with pal Erin Levy this year.

ABC’s Modern Family also made their mark, winning Outstanding Comedy Series for its breakout season, along with awards for Writing in a Comedy series, with a third going to Eric Stonestreet for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Unsurprisingly, the dynamic duo that is Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul won Outstanding Actor and Supporting Actor in a Drama Series nods for their roles in AMC favourite, Breaking Bad. Cranston, oft overlooked playing the neurotic dad in Malcolm in the Middle, secured his third straight Emmy win for his role as chemistry teacher-turned-meth cook Walter White.

And the biggest winner tonight, HBO’s critically acclaimed Temple Grandin had more than enough to smile about. The miniseries—who tells the remarkable true story of the protagonist author and groundbreaking agricultural scientist who learned to cope with autism before the disease was widely known—stepped up to claim five Emmy Awards.

Attired in a red and black rodeo-inspired ensemble, Grandin herself made her presence known, at one point taking the stage and holding executive producer Emily Gerson Saines in a heartfelt embrace as they accepted their Outstanding Made for Television Movie award.

Claire Danes won Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for playing Grandin, and called her “the most brave woman I’ve known”. Grandin returned the favour, praising Danes’ performance, saying “she became me. It took a lot of practice”.

“I hope this movie is going to educate a lot of people about autism because there’s a lot of people who don’t understand it,” Grandin added backstage. “Somebody [with autism] might be a Silicon Valley genius, and somebody might be handicapped and non-verbal.”

Snooki’s love interest has requested the Jersey Shore star’s hand in marriage—on the cover of Steppin’ Out magazine, which hit news stands today!

The image shows Jeff topless, in camouflage trousers and combat boots, and down on one knee with the headline: “Jeff Miranda Has a Question for Snooki: Will You Marry Me?”

The accompanying interview sees the soldier insisting he isn’t using the guidette, aka Nicole Polizzi, purely to get famous.

“I didn’t ask for cameras in my face. It came with the territory. But I’m willing to put up with it for Nicole. I just want to be with Nicole and make her happy.”

“I can make her the happiest girl in the world. I have very strong feelings for her. If people could see us together they would think we’re a match made in heaven. People think I’m using her for fame. But that’s bullsh*t,” said Jeff.

“I want us to be together forever. I could see us having children. I want to pop the question to her,” he said. “If we got married we would be the best parents around. She’s so loving and puts everyone else before herself. She’ll be a great mother.”

When asked if the proposal will be news to her, he confirmed that Snooki should be “shocked by this cover story.”

“I think Nicole will be shocked by this cover story and the fact that I’m asking her to marry me on the cover. But once she deals with the shock I think she’ll say yes. I really do. In fact, I know she’ll say yes.”

Snooki’s reps have since responded, and it isn’t good news.

“Rumours of Nicole’s romantic status have been greatly exaggerated,” said her rep Scott Talarico. “She is single with no immediate plans to change that.”

SINGER Jewel graced the red carpet at the 2010 Emmy Awards looking like a goddess, wearing a blush tiered lace gown by Zuhair Murad, accessoried with a satin-pleat clutch in a complimentary hue, chunky stone drop earrings and sexy red lips.

Later in the night, she took the stage in a subdued, pale blue gown to sing a never-recorded song “The Shape of You” for the ‘In Memorium’ section of the night. The song was originally written about a friend who passed away from cancer, but complimented the tribute perfectly.

The singer was a crowd-pleaser in both dresses but we’re loving the angelic aura she projected on the red carpet.

CSI: Miami star Eva LaRue shows some skin on the 2010 Emmy Awards red carpet, wearing a low-back white gown featuring a thigh-high front slit.

While the view from the back was absolutely breathtaking, the front of the dress left a lot to be desired, doing nothing to enhance Eva’s lingerie model body. But Eva did everything else right—from her glittered clutch to the chunky silver and diamond jewellery and satin platforms, she got it spot on for the awards ceremony.

SATURDAY Night Live star and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series nominee Kristen Wiig added some spice to an otherwise monochromatic dress with a jazzy print and laser-cut shoulder ruffles. The belted dress accentuated her lithe frame, and was paired with a studded clutch and stacked bangles.

While many fashion blogs continue to roast Kristen for her dress, we think she added some interest to the sea of mono-coloured frocks and unimaginative red carpet dresses. We can’t blame the funnywoman for trying to have a little fun.

She topped off her post-natal glow with a tousled updo. smokey eyes and her infamous smile.

In a pre-Emmys red carpet interview with Ryan Seacrest, True Blood stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer had a quick chat about their recent Rolling Stone cover with co-star Alexander Skasgård.

In an effort to explain how strategically-placed arms and legs were used to hide their naughty bits for the raunchy magazine cover, Anna revealed: “My leg’s covering his bits. My hand’s covering his bits. And his hand’s covering one of my bits…and no one’s covering their own bits.”

IN what is now her third drug arrest in the past two months, Paris Hilton was charged with cocaine possession over the weekend,

According to a police spokesperson Marcus Martin, “officers noticed a vehicle leaving [a] smoke trail of a controlled substance [and] made a stop based on that”.

In layman’s terms, police say what they believed was marijuana smoke emanating from a black Escalade on the Strip around 11.30pm when they stopped the vehicle driven by Paris’ boyfriend Cy Waits.

During the stop in Las Vegas, police found cocaine on Paris, was booked and released on her own recognisance.

Cy, on the other hand, remains behind bars on a count of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The socialite has since reportedly insists that the purse in which the cocaine was found does not belong to her.

“She’s upset because it wasn’t her substance,” said hair colourist Michael Boychuck—who is incidentally responsible for the tousled ‘do in her mugshot. “If you know Paris, she would get up and hug someone in a minute and leave her purse around.”

Michael, who has been colouring her tresses since she was 12, said Paris was “totally” sober when he styled her hair between 6 and 8pm on the fateful Friday before her arrest.

“She was drinking green tea that night in the salon. She didn’t have wine or anything,” he said, adding that Cy was not present at the beautifying session. “She was in a great mood.”

Paris has also since hired David Chesnoff to represent her in the case, and has released a statement to the press.

“This matter will be dealt with in the courts not in the media and I encourage people not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law,” read the statement issued by her attorney. “There will be no interviews and no more comments at this time.”

Some people never learn, do they?

But was there just a little animosity toward the fresh-out-of-rehab actress for her no-show? Not at all it seems!

Although a source revealed that “she really wanted to come,” Lindsay apparently decided to avoid the event to maintain her sobriety.

Even director Robert Rodriguez wasn’t disappointed with Lilo’s non-presence, saying: “There’s three more premieres coming up, she she’ll see one of them.”

And the head honcho said giving Lindsay the role wasn’t a risk at all.

“Have you seen it? She’s great! She’s great in the movie. You’ll see that she’s perfect for it,” said Rodriguez.

Well if perfect means playing a drug enthusiast who appears naked through most of the movie, then perfect it is!

Venezuelan babe Electra Avellan, who plays Nurse Mona is the flick, also took time to chat about her co-star, describing her as “the funnest, most professional, amazing” girl.

“I’m sad that she had to go through those things, but I’m very proud of her because she’s back on top,” said Avellan. “She’s working right now. It’s like, she went straight to set. She had to miss this premiere to go to work.”

Intriguing! But it gets better, when Avellan tells us just how badass Lindsay can be.

“She taught me how to kick ass!” revealed the 24-year-old. “She was like, ‘You have to do it sexy. You can’t look like a bitch!’ and I’m like ‘OK!’ so [she] taught me exactly how to move and turn my heard and my back. Amazing!”

Machete himself stepped up to the plate, as actor Danny Trejo recounts how he was very impressed with Lindsay’s attitude.

“Her personal life is her personal life,” said Trejo. “On set she’s an absolute pro: on time, brings it and fun to work with. She’ll be alright.”

If she’s good enough for them, she’s good enough for the rest of us!

The movie opens nationwide on September 3 in the US.

In the latest news, Kristen is set to return to the big screen as part of the Scream franchise, filming the fourth film with True Blood star Anna Paquin.

According to E!, Kristen and Anna’s characters will have a run-in with the Ghostface Killer from the films, and will star alongside old faces such as Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Sheriff Dewey Riley (David Arquette) and Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox).

Other stars slated to join the Wes Craven-directed film are Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere and Rory Culkin.

The supermodel stunned fellow diners at a restaurant on the Italian island of Capri when she refused to eat her dinner until she was provided with the right condiments.

A source at the restaurant, who looked on as Naomi dined with boyfriend Vladimir Doronin and actor Leonardo DiCaprio, said: “She couldn’t indulge in food until her boyfriend’s bodyguard brought over her own salt and pepper shakers.”

But her spokesperson corrected the source saying, “It wasn’t salt and pepper, it’s her Jamaican hot sauce.”

Apparently, Naomi isn’t the only diva when it comes to her food—earlier this year, Bono insisted on specially-prepared food when dining at New York’s Butler eatery.

“He demanded that his salad be chopped. And he made sure it was when it arrived,” spilled a source.

The U2 frontman, who was dining with fellow bandmember The Edge, also sent staff at the restaurant into a frenzy when he requested a specific bottled water they did not stock.

“He wanted Perrier, which they didn’t have, so a waiter actually ran across the street to a store and bought him a bottle,” added the source.

Sheesh!

“I do want kids. I want four,” she said. “I started at six a few years ago.”

But Kim isn’t about to rush into getting pregnant at the moment after witnessing the challenges her sister Kourtney faces with 8-month-old son Mason.

“It kind of shows me what hard work it is and it kind of makes me want to step back a little bit and not have a baby right away,” she added.

But she isn’t the only Kardashian thinking about babies—Kourtney said she and boyfriend Scott Disick would welcome a second child. In fact, although they aren’t trying to conceive, they aren’t trying to prevent one either.

“I’m not trying but I’m not not trying. Me and Khloé are on the same plan,” said Kourtney. “It’s a race.”

The mother is referring to younger sister Khloé admitting that she and husband Lamar Odom had stopped using contraception in preparations to have a family.

“I’m not rushing it, but I’m also not doing anything to prevent it,” said Khloé. “We both want to have children together and I think we;re in an ideal situation. We’re just happy together.”

Since Lindsay Lohan was released from rehab, she was spotted roaming the streets and, more importantly, tweeting her thoughts once again to her avid followers.

After 36 (count ‘em!) days away from the social networking site, Lindsay got back in the game with a message directed at the nosey paparazzi that are unsurprisingly hot on her heels.

“Clearly…Paparazzi shouldn’t be allowed to take pictures or video while someone’s driving or at a stop light. 4every1′s sake #trafficpolice,” she wrote on her site, in hopes that it would call attention to the dangerous situation.

Come on paps, back off before there’s another crash and court date.

In fact, Kelly Osbourne is making her sartorial adjudicator debut on E!‘s “Fashion Police” panel, alongside the infamous Joan Rivers, Giuliana Rancic and celebrity stylist George Kotsiopoulos.

Of course, her first foray into fashion judging will happen at this Monday’s Emmy Awards special followed by the new weekly installment of “Fashion police,” starting September 10.

Although the mouthy Brit has been known to trash other celebrity’s looks, she promises she won’t stoop to that level—not all of the time anyway.

“I’m so excited, but at the end of the say, if you wear something sh*t, you wear something sh*t,” she said. “But also, you know what? It’s only my opinion. It doesn’t really matter what I say.”

“What I believe is it doesn’t matter if I think what you put on is stupid or I love it, it’s about how it makes you feel.”

The issue, containing the photos of a gender-bending Lady Gaga and the mock interview with the “Sicilian Mechanic,” will be published next month. The original images begun making their rounds on the internet a couple of months ago, prompting speculation that Jo is actually a pompadoured, James Dean-esque Gaga in disguise.

Along with the images, Nicola tweeted a link to an excerpt of the article, where readers got to know more about the Palermo-born, muscle-car loving grease monkey.

During the interview, Jo is asked about his relationship with Lady Gaga, to which he replies: “I met her at a shoot Nick Knight was doing. She’s fuckin’ beautiful, and funny, and interesting. I was a little nervous for Nick to start shooting.”

Will you be picking up a copy on September 10?

Last we heard, she had already passed up on her first party—a tribute to late friend DJ AM aka Adam Goldstein—attended by ex and best friend Samantha Ronson and the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Rashida Jones. But from what Judge Elden Fox has said, she’ll have to do a lot more if she’s going to stay on top of keeping clean.

The judge apparently met with Lindsay’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley this morning to discuss the new terms of the 24-year-old’s probation. And they’ve come up with a list that will surely leave Lilo pouting a little longer than expected.

Firstly, Lindsay will now be expected to remain in California, with Los Angeles as her primary residence, until her next court date on November 1. That means no more trips to France, New York or anywhere for that matter, even if it is for work.

The Mean Girls actress will also be expected to undergo psychiatric treatment at least four times a week, and attend addiction meetings (like Alcoholics Anonymous) at least five times a week as part of a 12-step program.

She will also be required to contact her counsellor at least seven times a week, and attend behavioural therapy twice a week. Add to that a requirement to submit to random drug and alcohol testing twice a week and the message is pretty clear: Lindsay, one strike and you’re back in the slammer.

Her lawyer doesn’t go scot-free either..

“She is not to miss any drug tests,” affirmed Fox after he confirmed her release from the UCLA Medical Center yesterday. “Her attorney must provide the court with biweekly statements that these requirements are being met. Any missed tests or violations will result in 30 days in jail.”

Holley appeared unfazed by the terms, and believes Lindsay is now on the straight and narrow.

“She is very serious about her sobriety,” said Holley to cameras outside the courtroom. “She looks forward to proving to the court that she is serious. She has learned her lesson and is going to move forward in a positive way.”

So much so in fact, that Lindsay has chosen not to attend tonight’s premiere of her new movie Machete.

“The screening is tonight and when I spoke with her last it was her intention not to do that,” explained Holley. “She’s moving forward in a positive way and not necessarily going to something splashy.”

“She has changed, she’s healthy, she’s clear-headed, she’s positive and she’s looking forward.”

“We’re happy with the court’s ruling today,” added the attorney. “The past is dead.”

Has our favourite child star finally turned over a new leaf? We certainly hope so.

Liam’s reps have officially confirmed their break-up, although Miley’s camp remain tight-lipped.

“We’re not commenting on Miley’s personal life,” said her rep bluntly. We’re guessing that’s code for “she doesn’t want to talk about him right now.”

“Ever since she left for Detroit, Miley has been super focused on her work,” said a source close to the ex-couple. “Liam wanted more, but she’s 17 and has other priorities right now. He’s been a distraction.”

“[Miley's] not with anybody else,” added the insider, busting rumours she left Liam to get back with Nick Jonas.

Although there was speculation that 20-year-old Liam cheated on the Nashville native earlier this month, other sources say it was only a matter of time before the two called it quits—apparently, this isn’t the first time they’ve broken up.

“They’re both young. To say they are done forever would be premature, but it’s safe to say for now they are doing their own thing.”

Earlier this year in March, Miley told Parade magazine that Liam was her “first serious boyfriend”.

“[Liam has] become my best friend in the whole wide world. I love him. He really respects me for who I am because coming from Australia, he really didn’t know me as the celebrity I am here,” said Miley. “I got to tell him about myself on my own terms and my own way. He had no preconceived notion of who I was supposed to be.”

Oh well, looks like these teens have to find another celebrity to make news with…

IN what has to be the most delightful showing of karma coming full-circle, it has been revealed that actor John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston are expecting a son together!

The 47-year-old mother announced her pregnancy in May, giving 10-year-old Ella Bleu her first little brother. Older brother Jett unfortunately passed away last year after a fatal seizure.

The couple reportedly celebrated the impending arrival with 40 close friends and family at a baby shower co-hosted by Forest Whitaker’s wife, Keshia, earlier this month at their Los Angeles home.

Yay!

GLEE‘s Jayma Mays, who plays guidance counsellor Emma Pillsbury, shimmers in Christian Cota for the Audi & Chopard Emmy Week Kick-off party over the weekend.

The silver Spring 2010 one-shoulder dress was shortened to fit her petite frame and show off those toned legs, and she added Brian Atwood “Wagner” peep-toes, sparkly Chopard earrings and a Salvatore Ferragamo box clutch.

Nice work!

In other news, Jayma reveals that she wants to postpone the impending on-screen romance between her character Emma and Will, played by Matthew Morrison.

She explained that she believes fans of the show would be disappointed if the relationship blossomed too quickly.

“Do you think people really want [a romance] this soon?” she said to E!. “That’s my question. I know people want it, but they want to wait for it. So I don’t know.”

Jayma also thinks the characters wouldn’t make a good couple anyway, at the moment.

“On a character note, I don’t know if they’re quite ready just yet,” she said. “I know they tried really quickly after he left his wife and all that, but it didn’t really work. So I think maybe having a bit of space is good.”

Glee will return for its second season on September 21 in the US.

90210‘s Jessica Lowndes walked the striped carpet at the Audi & Chopard Emmy Week Kick-off Party in an easy Matthew Williamson Resort 2011 dress, featuring a ikat-style print and orange waisted belt. Jessica, who plays Adrianna on the show, matched her accessories to the bright cincher, wearing amber drop earrings an ombre clutch. She added chocolate Stuart Weitzman “Lillie” peep-toes to finish off the look.

Personally, we would have gone with a daintier purse and less orangey blush, but each to their own!

JUST as the fashion world looks past leather biker jackets, studs and rock and roll into 50′s femme fatale glam, images of Beyoncé modelling a new pair of studded leggings from the latest Deréon Fall/Holiday 2010 campaign made its way across the internet. But that didn’t fly past Icelandic fashion brand E-label, who is concerned that one of their designs was ripped off by the house that Bey built.

Compare the pair: to the left are E-label’s “heavy metal” leggings, and to the right is Beyoncé in her version, complete with tattooed spine and all.

“This is naturally huge, and I am still half in shock,” said E-label’s Helba Hallgrimsdottir. “I didn’t twig straightaway that this was her own label, I just thought she was wearing our leggings.”

“It is practically just copy/paste.”

Although we do see a conundrum, we must say there is more than a few differences between the two—the studs on Bey’s pair are larger, and they aren’t placed uniformly like those on the E-label version. Then there is the lack of a gathered waistband.

Hallgrimsdottir theorises that Bey might have purchased their pair from Topshop’s Edit section—which features up-and-coming designers of their choosing—last November. But even if the Grammy-winning singer did rip the design off, there aren’t any laws that will stand up to the claim because the Reykjavik-based designer didn’t copyright her design (oops!).

In other news, just as Beyoncé has to deal with these claims, Madonna faces the music on the use of her “Material Girl” line for Macy’s as well.

According to RadarOnline, the original Materical Girl has been slapped with a lawsuit from clothing manufacturer LA Triumph, who says it has been using the registered named for its juniors line since 1997.

The court documents cite direct competition from Madonna’s line as a threat to the LA Triumph label, sold at Nordstrom, and that the “plaintiff’s Material Girl clothing line retails at the same price point and in the same general retail space as the Defendant’s infringing clothes”.

The lawsuit also hints that they will next target retailer Macy’s for promoting Madonna and Lourdes’ teenage clothing line.

Ouch.

DITCHING her usual, laid back style, Gossip Girls‘ Jessica Szohr turned up for the Los Angeles premiere of Piranha 3D on the weekend wearing a scarlet Notte by Marchesa cocktail dress.

She kept her long locks off her décolletage to show off the fan pleated detail of the dress, and added pearlescent gold Aldo platform heels and a matching clutch by Laura Merkin.

Unsurprisingly, that all culminated in Lindsay’s early release from the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Los Angeles this morning, after just 23 days in rehab.

In the past week, there has been speculation her rehabilitation order would be cut down by new adjudicator Elden Fox to a third of that which was issued by original judge Marsha Revel.

Revel, who has since recused herself from the case after the District Attorney’s office took issue with her handling of the case, issued a court order for 90 days in rehab for Lindsay. But after doctors at the rehabilitation clinic determined the actress was misdiagnosed and did not have either ADHD or bipolar disorder—and was improperly prescribed Adderall as a consequence—they informed the courts that Lindsay would not be required to remain at the center for the full-term of her rehab.

The lucky actress left quietly out the back door after discharge papers were apparently signed by Fox. She was no doubt met at the door by mother Dina Lohan, who says the family will be issuing a formal statement later today.

And her luck is already turning around, with Dancing With the Stars hoping to sign the actress on for their next season’s competition.

DWTS pro Mark Ballas said he would be open to being her partner.

“I’m up for a challenge,” said Mark to E!.

Fellow dancer Derek Hough seconds the notion, saying: “If she did, I’d be game.”

“It’s cool because you do see people turn their lives around on Dancing with the Stars. It keeps them fit, It’s nice to see people a year later who started on the new health regime and have kept on track.”

But Derek warns that Lindsay needs to want to be a part of the show on her own accord, and not because her manager told her to do it.

“You have to want to do the show,” he said. “You should never come into the show having a manager or any agent or anybody telling you should do this. You need to want to do it. Those are the people who do the best, who want to be there and they’re excited about it. They’re not just there because somebody told them to do it.”

The pair turned up at Panama City’s Bay County Circuit Court this morning to witness a judge execute their divorce agreement, ending months of speculation to the state of the 6-year union.

“Once we came to the decision that out marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being,” said the couple of their children. “The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.”

“I am going to stick with whatever the medical professionals think for her, because they are the experts,” said DA Dannette Meyers to E! News, when asked if she would be opposed to Lindsay’s early release from rehab.

But ultimately, no matter what the DA thinks, it will be up to LA Superior Court Judge Elden Fox—who inherited the case after original judge Marsha Revel recused herself from the high-profile case—to make the decision at the August 25 hearing to modify Lindsay’s probation.

Meyers says she trusts Fox to make the right decision, but is still outraged that details of Lindsay’s medical records were leaked to the public.

“Everyone has a right to privacy and I was disappointed that they put it out there,” said Meyers. “Someone leaked her personal records and she is entitled to privacy.”

TMZ meanwhile reports that the 23-year-old rehab patient has been weaned off her prescription medications already and doctors are considering that her previous “addict” diagnoses may have been over-the-top.

Physicians at the UCLA Medical Center’s Neuropsychiatric Hospital also agree that Lilo isn’t bipolar or suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder either, according to a source at the rehab clinic.

And because none of this is really our business, DA Meyers has acknowledged that her office is currently investigating the leak of Lindsay’s medical records.
