This is genius…. and I love the scripting.. Old Spice has recently released a series of Manmercials, nonsensically funny 30-second ads for its new body wash, with the following messages:

“We’re not saying this body wash will make your man smell into a romantic millionaire jet fighter pilot, but we are insinuating it.”

“Don’t smell like sunsets and baby powder. Smell like jet fighters and punching.”

“What’s better than seeing a hot girl on a beach? Nothing. Nothing is better. Maybe nachos. A hot girl lying on nachos. But that’s impossible. ”

And by the way, I’m on a horse.

So… here we have it. I’m looking for a designer to come and join us at Picture.
Probably a middle to senior weight designer and must have digital experience and “get-it”, interested in tech, interested in print, have a love and aptitude for motion design and generally be a pleasure to have in our studio.

I’m a big fan of Sarah Illenberger, nearly got her in on a job I did for Google July 2009.
A great all round meticulous designer, maker, thinker with a great eye for detail, colour and humour.

Wrangler – Spring Summer 2010

I’ve just come across this Bluebell campaign for spring/summer 2010 from Wrangler.
A really great idea and pretty easy to execute, it’s a shame it doesn’t link through to a shopping experience.
Otherwise beautifully done, art directed, whatsmore you can downlaod any frame you want, altogthere a really satisfying experience..
There’s a simple narative too.. very nice indeed.

It’s great to see full frame video being used and forward looking clients that embrasse something out of the norm. Roll on adventurous clients.

Mercedes advert 1927

I first saw this imagine at the Corbusier exhibition, curated at the Barbican in May 2009.
This picture really struck a cord in me. Here was Mercedes Benz using the backdrop of Le Corbusier’s Weissenhof House (1927), to demonstrate its modernity and it’s forward looking views on technology, materials and .. fashion. In todays age this staggeringly amazing shot, makes the car look like a thing of the past a relic, while Corusier’s Weissenhof House is still up there amongst the greats.. It just hasn’t dated.

An absolutely amazing timeless piece of architecture..
