      &lt;p&gt;Robots! Cinco Ranch High School students built this contraption to shoot balls to a moving wagon, measuring distance and speed through a mounted camera. This is so cool. My son Ben stood there literally for an hour watching and asking questions. I think he&amp;#39;s ready to join the robotics club!&lt;br /&gt;

      <title>Katy ISD Technology Showcase Part 1</title>

	On May 27, 2009, the Katy Independent School District held their annual Technology Showcase in the beautiful Merrill Center. Each school had student and teacher representatives showing off all the cool stuff they did with tech this year. Along with a LOTS of digital storytelling, there were some really exceptional projects where you could easily tell the students poured in a labor of love. Hats off to Katy ISD for promoting this, even though, in general, they block more sites than many communist countries. But that is a story for another day. Weatherbug system to record the current weather and to forecast the weather for
the week. This is a collaborative project between our school and Dr. Green
Elementary School in El Paso.
This is a &amp;#8220;proof of concept&amp;#8221; blog at this point to show how two
classrooms can collaborate and share information. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Tahoma" size="2"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Tahoma"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font face="Tahoma" size="2"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Tahoma"&gt;The last two sites I mentioned are also podcast enabled.
What that means is that you can subscribe to the sites using iTunes. By doing
this, all new episodes will be pushed to iTunes once they are published. This
happens almost automatically. To subscribe to these podcasts, do the following:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>SMART Board Documentary Video Request </title>

The purpose of this video is to let parents know how successful the recently installed SMART Boards are in the classrooms and to solicit funding to purchase more for next year. So, for lack of a better term, it&amp;#39;s a marketing documentary.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;My thinking on this video is to interview teachers (those with and those without the boards) and interview students (1st-7th grade) about their experiences using SMART Boards. My question to my network:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;What questions could I ask to the students AND to the teachers that might solicit an appropriate answer that would help convince parents to support more SMART boards?&lt;/b&gt; I really want to stay away from too much pedagogical techno-babble because I&amp;#39;ll lose my intended audience. I think elicited words like &amp;quot;excited&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;motivated&amp;quot;, &amp;quot;engaged learning&amp;quot; would be effective and to the point. Short and sweet.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;I&amp;#39;d like to ask 4 or 5 questions to the teachers (both with boards and those without...interesting comparison) and a few questions to the students whose answers will have an immediate impact on parents and their understanding of how important this technology is during the day-to-day learning of their child.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;What questions would you pose for this documentary-marketing video? Of course, once it&amp;#39;s done, I&amp;#39;ll post it. Thanks in advance.

decided to create a healthy cookbook with our favorite recipes. This
was in response to a scare Paul had that led to several days of
hospital care (and lots of Twitter chatter). Fortunately, with the power of prayer, everything seems
to be OK. But I&amp;#39;m sure it was a wake up call for Paul and a good reminder for all of us to eat more healthy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With that, the PLN of Paul R.       <title>Geography and Third Grade - A Shameless Request</title>

	&lt;p&gt;It must be the timing of when third graders learn certain things. Recently, I read a &lt;a href="http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/2008/09/please-help-abby-with-her-homework.html" mce_href="http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/2008/09/please-help-abby-with-her-homework.html"&gt;post&lt;/a&gt; by &lt;a href="http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/" mce_href="http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/"&gt;Karl Fisch&lt;/a&gt;
about a geography project his daughter is engaged in. My son, who is a
third grader here in Texas, was just assigned a similar project where
he needs to gather information from around the country and the world.
Specifically, he chose to send the actual paper request to our good
friend in Oregon (who also happens to be a middle school social studies
teacher). Since we lived there for nine years, it was an obvious choice.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So, in my most transparent (and shameful?) manner, I am going to
flatter Karl with imitation (and maybe some extra Map 2.0 stuff) and
ask you to post some information about where you are from. There are
two places to make your mark...&lt;br /&gt;
