Simply put, The Wire is one of the best TV shows that I have watched in a long time.

At first when I started to watch the show I thought that it wasn’t for me. But I usually give shows the benefit of the doubt and watch at least three episodes, unless the show is completely diabolical!

Each episode of The Wire runs to approximately 58 minutes, which is a long time for any show. Usually the final episode in each season was an hour and a half. After I watched the first three episodes I knew I was going to enjoy the show.

In total there is 5 seasons, no more were made or are going to be made. Each season focuses on a different aspect of life in Baltimore. Each part, if it is political or if it is to do with drugs, they all influence each other and it makes the show extremely interesting.

The Wire is about drugs in Baltimore, the show is presented from two points of view, the first is that of the drug dealers. It shows how the drug dealers go day to day with importing drugs, selling drugs and how they become extremely rich while the Baltimore slums continue to grow. The other view that the drugs in Baltimore are shown is from the view of Law Enforcement, they show how they are combating against the drug dealers by carrying out arrest after arrest. Also there is huge undercover investigations being carried out by using wire taps to infiltrate the drug operations.

This is a great show and one I think you should definitely have a look at if you have not done so already.

I begun watching The Wire about a month ago and since then I have watched all 5 seasons, I just finished the last of season five’s episodes today and I really wish there was more for me to watch. So now that I am done with this show, I will have to go looking for another show to watch, it will be tough to beat this one!

Anyway, this week I have only to work 3 days and then I am officially on my 2 week summer holidays from work! It is always great having time off and I want to plan a few things to do over these next few weeks.

I am not exactly sure yet as to what I want to do, but there is one thing I know I want to do which is go away to Edinburgh for a few days. It would be nice to get away out of the country for a while and this will probably be the only chance I get to go away for the rest of the year.

Last year I went to Edinburgh for a friend of mine’s 21st birthday and it was brilliant. Edinburgh is a lovely place and last year when I went over there was a big heat wave which made the trip even better.

This year if I do get to go over, a few of my friends will be over there already and I should have some sort of accommodation sorted out. During the month of August there is a lot of festivals on, so if I do go I would like to go within the first week of August.

So until I go on that trip I will have to come up with a few more things that I can do here in Ireland. Maybe go to the Giants Causeway, I have never been there, and it is supposed to be a good day out, even though the drive is very long!

Toy story 3 was released in America over a month ago, but here in Ireland we had to wait until this week, just to see it! You could easily of found the film online or gone down to a market and bought a bootleg version of it, but I thought it would be worth waiting for the film to come out here and go and see it in 3d!

Cartoon films are always the best in 3d, they are always great quality as it takes so long to make a cartoon film, the creators always pull out all the stops when it comes to making the 3d experience.

Toy story 3 is hilarious from start to finish, even watching the credits is funny! There  is also the odd tear moment in the film, but the 3d glasses hides it most of the time! I think toy story 3 is probably the best one so far I really liked the first toy story but the second one is nothing compared to the first or third.

People seemed to be really happy with the film, because there was a sudden huge outburst of everyone clapping at the end of it! How many films do you go and see that gets a reaction like that?

I was laughing the whole way through the film, if you haven’t seen the film yet, then you should definitely go and see it! One of the funiest parts of the film is the spanish Buzz! ( making of spanish Buzz below )

I have noticed that Pixar now create short cartoon skits before their films now, these are hilarious. Below is the making of the small skit they had before Toy Story 3, the skit was titled “Day & Night”.

So will you be getting the new iPhone? I said a while back that this is the time for me to get the iPhone. But since I said that the iPhone has been released and the big antenna flaw ( Dubbed “Antennagate” ) has been discovered. So now I am sure a lot of people have changed their mind on if they want to get the iPhone 4.

For me I think my decision is pretty simple, I am going to get the new iPhone, the solution to the antenna problem is to use a case / bumper on the iPhone. A lot of people are complaining that they have to use a cover to have reception.

I have no problem with this, because when I get the iPhone I would definitely be getting a case anyway, I already have an iPod and I know how easily they get scratched and that if they fall they are likely to break, so I intend on getting the case anyway. Most likely I will not see the problem so I am happy to go ahead and buy the new iPhone once it hits Ireland in 10 days, July 30th 2010.

If I get the iPhone before the end of September I won’t have to pay for a case for the iPhone as apple are giving away free cases until the end of September.

Currently I am on o2′s network and I will be switching back over to Vodafone once I get the iPhone 4. Ideally I would like to get the phone once it is released on the 30th, but most likely I will have to wait a while so I can get enough money for it. I am undecided if I want bill-pay or pre-pay yet, if I go for bill-pay I will have it the day it comes out, otherwise I will be waiting until I get the €600 for it!

Over the past few weeks I went into a big slump on this blog. I basically gave up on the internet for a while. The only thing I have been doing online was just checking my email and going onto facebook.

I just had no interest in doing anything at all online. I didn’t want to build any websites, make any blog posts and I didn’t even want to design the rest of the theme’s that I have been working on for this blog and also for seanlucas.com!

Now though I am ready to get back into the swing of things. I have a website that I should have finished for a client by now, but since my client has recently gone on holidays I have to wait until he returns to get the rest of the photographs that I need for the website. Once I have that site finished I am completely free to begin my next clients website! My next client is a relation of mine, so it will be interesting building that website.

I want to get my theme finished for this blog, I won’t say I will have it finished this month, instead  I am going to set myself a more realistic timeframe for it, I am going to set September as the time when I have  to put up the new theme. The theme in no way will take me all that time, but by setting the deadline so far away it gives me time to build client websites, so I will do my own work whenever I have free time!
