But one thing I’m currently loving, even though it reminds me of myself 20 years ago? Neon. That’s right – I am way OK with the neon trend right now, because it reminds me of the leg warmers I used to wear to jazz class. Because that made me more “jazzy” of course. I’m currently finding some good stuff at one of my favorite stores – Francesca’s – and I’ll rock it until they’re out of style!

So, I guess I should have titled this post less of “Current Fandom” and more of “Random Musings in My Life Right Now”. Because that’s kind of what this is…

I CAUGHT A FISHY! Yes, I called it a fishy. Because as soon as I caught it that’s what I yelled. Followed by “Ew, ok Brad, come touch this thing because I’m not going to.”

What will I text you back if you write “Oh, really?”

This was my second photographer, Alisa’s, place setting at Ardie & Kyle’s wedding last weekend. Girl after my heart – knows that the way to staying trim is lots of salad and lots of dessert. And just no in between. Duh!

Current fandom, though, really? This photo. Because even though I’m getting older, it’s good to now have this little munchkin in my life, and watch her enjoying the growing up process:

Other thoughts on ways to do this… maybe a sign by the guestbook of when things occur, or including them somehow in the centerpieces or menus! Type-A heaven!

Julie, helped though the process by my second photographer Melissa, arrived at the doors to the Grand Vue Park building, stepped through into the warm air, and stopped for a second. To take a breath and prepare.

She stared inching toward him, asking while walking slowly if she was doing the right thing. And honestly, during their first look – everything was the right thing. A smile crept onto Ryan’s face, and when finally she tapped him on the shoulder and he turned, he saw the woman he was going to marry that day. And her big smile, blonde curls, and eyes that always have a giggling sparkle in them.

And they smiled. And then tears came. And then they both simultaneously picked something off of the other, the way husbands and wives do. And then they kissed. And it was magic.

They wrote each other letters, which were sealed in a box along with two wine glasses and a bottle of wine. Only to be opened on their 5 year anniversary.

It was really picture perfect with the weather, hydrangeas, and lovely outdoor wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony, the four of us went to take photos at some of the scenic spots around Grand Vue Park.

I’m a big sucker for weeping willow trees and grassy fields. They remind me of the areas I used to play when I was little.

Julie’s father gave a wonderful toast during the reception.

As did the best man!

I loved the way they decorated with the paper lanterns, and their guests had a great time goofing around in the photo booth.

Meet Melissa! She’ll be second shooting with me a lot this year, so she’ll be a familiar face! I’m so glad that we’ve teamed up, and I’m thrilled to have her as a part of the LMP team!

She? Still telling the story about how he proposed on a carriage ride in New York City, while visiting there for the first time together this past December. The purpose of the trip was to enjoy the Christmas lights, but really they came home with sparkles on her left hand and a story to tell.

They? Love watching movies together, although he could have probably passed on “The Vow” recently. They laugh together almost immediately after I move my camera every time, and so I had to learn to wait for the final bits of laughter that come once they’ve both fallen into each other and a comfortable place.

He? Shy.
She? Ready.
They? Perfect.

We photographed Kara and Adam’s engagement photos on the University of Pittsburgh campus – a place near to Kara’s heart.

Got to love the red doors of Heinz Chapel. And those are the smiles after the wait that I mentioned.

Ah, love. The colors and Kara’s smile and eyelashes really make it for me here!

They’re a little playful.
