She got ready in the 15th floor suite, and then we did their first look on the Mezzanine beside the Bob and Dolores Hope Ballroom. I loved this spot for their first look, because it was just beautiful light on that balcony area, and it really showed off the architecture of this not-as-often-used space of the Omni William Penn Hotel.

After a first look, we did family and wedding party photos, and then some more images in the great big windows in the main lobby of the hotel. The ceremony was downstairs in the Three Rivers Room, followed by a reception in the lower level William Penn Ballroom.

I loved working with DJ Finest Events (Jonathan Mihelliss)!!! Seriously, if you want a DJ that can MIX really WELL – he’s awesome. He just combines multiple fun songs seamlessly, and he’s just a fantastic guy all around. Can’t say enough about him!

The cookie table, as always, was flawless by Here For The Cookie Table. I love the watercolor Pittsburgh background that they setup for their tables. It’s rentable and oh so cute and classy at the same time. I definitely grabbed some cookies for the ride home!

We finished up with a champagne spray outside of the hotel marquee – which is always a BLAST! I mean, what a fun way to celebrate your wedding day! Loved working with Jaden + Patrick: 10/10 loved!

When I arrived (I was with them for 3 hours), I photographed candids and the ‘getting ready’, as well as any family portraits that I could grab at the time. This allowed me to get to know the people in the immediate families and arrange my lights for the ceremony. St. Bernard has a room downstairs for brides to get ready, so Lindsay put on her dress in this area and got to see her Dad for the first time as well (some tears were shed!).

The ceremony in St Bernard was (as always) gorgeous, with the gold ceiling and light beaming through the stained glass windows. They included family members in the ceremony with readings and the presentation of the gifts, and I was able to photograph things from multiple angles. I work closely with the Catholic churches here in Pittsburgh to provide extensive, but respectful, wedding photography coverage of their ceremonies. Lots of angles – not a lot of noise!

After the ceremony, we did our formal family photos at the altar, and then a few photos of the couple inside of St Bernard with the architecture. Afterwards, we headed outside to the area I spoke of before where the winter weather treated us nicely in the temperatures and we had the most perfect evening sunlight shining on it. I LOVE their classic portraits from the day – the look SO good. Winter weddings ALWAYS look good!!

They asked if I could come to their home for newborn photos, and we photographed a mix of styles: lifestyle, posed-newborn, and macro details. I wanted to give them lots of options! Their little baby was so sweet and sleepy – he just made the perfect model!

Something to remember: These were all photographed IN their home! I bring studio lighting, backdrops, wraps, etc. It’s amazing what a little photographer-magic can do… all while you get to lounge in your favorite elastic-waist sweatpants. <3

Interested in engagement photos, but worried about the cold, cold, cold Pittsburgh weather? It’s still possible – you just need a nice jacket and a great attitude!

I worked with Emily and Mike, and we discussed prior to the session what we really wanted to do. Was it a good idea to reschedule, or should we go for it? Were there good indoor/outdoor location options that could work?

We decided to stick with our originally scheduled time, and even though it was below zero, we got the sunshine on a winter day. That’s a nice touch, and a lucky blessing!

We photographed their engagement session at the Mellon Institute Columns, and then we walked through the streets of North Oakland until we reached the Carnegie Museum. The museum will currently let you photograph indoors as long as you pay admission and do not use flash. It was the perfect way to warm up, and I know a nice ‘circle’ through the museum that creates a wonderful gallery.

The mix of indoor + outdoor engagement pictures gives Emily and Mike a wonderfully, rounded photo gallery, without truly freezing for the full hour together. Afterwards, they were able to wander the museum on their own and enjoy the rest of their day in the Pittsburgh museum.

Hair, makeup, florals, champagne — everything felt calm and joyful as the couple got ready separately before heading to the ceremony. Even on a busy wedding day, starting in a space like this sets such a great tone.

Traditional Ceremony at Epiphany Catholic Church

The ceremony took place at Epiphany Catholic Church, a beautiful and meaningful setting for exchanging vows. The architecture, high ceilings, and natural light created a timeless atmosphere that photographed beautifully.

It was a pretty Pittsburgh day — comfortable, bright, and just right — which made traveling between locations smooth and stress-free.

A Clean, Simple Studio Look That Lets Kids Shine

My studio is intentionally styled with soft colors, a few fun toys, and clean, crisp sets. I want your child to be the star of every single image. For one-year sessions, I keep props and backgrounds classic and timeless so the focus stays right where it should be: on expression, connection, and personality.

This little guy loved exploring the space, showing off tiny smiles one minute and serious, thoughtful looks the next. I adore capturing that full range of one-year-old magic.

A Modern Bride With a Chic Vision

Jayme got ready with her closest friends and family, keeping the morning relaxed, joyful, and full of excitement. She wore a gorgeous gown from One White Lane Bridal Boutique — a perfect blend of modern structure and classic elegance. Her beauty team brought her entire look together: hair by Brandy Reed and flawless makeup by Alexis Vince, creating that fresh, polished finish that photographed beautifully all day long.

Her jewelry from Diamonds Direct added the perfect hint of sparkle, elevating her overall look without ever distracting from the clean, editorial vibe she was aiming for.

Portraits With a City Feel

Even though we were outside the downtown Pittsburgh skyline, we created portraits that matched the urban aesthetic Jayme loved. Jayme told me multiple times that she loved some staircases, so I was determined to find her some stone Pittsburgh stairs that really photographed well. The back of the courthouse worked so well! Loved it there!

The Audrey’s modern architecture and neutral tones allowed us to create images with that classic, city-vibe energy she envisioned once we arrived at the venue – added bonus! – without needing a city backdrop. Jayme absolutely nailed the modern bride look, and Sean looked incredibly sharp in his tuxedo from Top Hat Tuxedo.

A Reception Full of Energy

Once the reception began, the energy never slowed down. DJ Bryan Hoover kept the dance floor packed all night — the perfect soundtrack for a couple who truly wanted their guests to celebrate and have a great time. I knew her DJ would be bomb, because her brother-in-law is DJ Jammin Jason and he hooked her up with a great party, while he also enjoyed the fun. Nailed it!

And Pittsburgh wedding guests know what’s coming next…

But this wasn’t just a cookie table — it was a cookie table room. A full space overflowing with homemade treats, classic favorites, and beautiful displays. Guests were absolutely delighted, and it became one of the most talked-about parts of the night. Their catering by Monteverde Catering was outstanding (I actually LOVED the green beans of all things!), and transportation by Elite Limo kept the day running smoothly from start to finish. The evening was coordinated flawlessly thanks to planner Zac Steele, whose guidance and attention to detail helped bring Jayme’s modern vision to life. Nice job, Zac!
