If only there was a way to let college students manage their hectic lifestyles with ease and convenience…oh wait, there is! Cue the new Kno Tablet. With a screen size of 14” (almost one and a half times the size of the Apple iPad’s), not only does it allow e-books to be viewed without scrolling, but is also great for multitasking. An awesome alternative to 8 semesters of books, notes and media, the Kno Tablet will hold everything a student needs for their entire college career in one compact device. There is also an option for a double-paneled tablet for even more space.

Other cool features include touch screen capabilities with a stylus for note-taking, 6-8 hour battery life, and amazing resolution for videos and other materials. The Kno Tablet is set to hit shelves towards the end of this year.

Sony has recently unveiled their new A55 DSLR camera, which is set to hit shelves in early October. Offering amazing specifications along with newly developed technology, this camera has caused quite a buzz in the tech world. Below are just some of the specs and fun facts that make this camera much different than those we all have seen before:

Translucent Mirror Technology, allowing the camera to feed the image sensor and phase detection simultaneously.

16.2 MP resolution with continuous shooting at 10 frames per second

Integrated 15-point auto-focus for crisp, professional-grade photography

The world’s first DSLR that can shoot and focus with speed and precision.

The world’s first camera with precision auto focus for full HD movies.

Integrated GPS receiver for GPS tagging

3D Sweep Panorama abilities for expansive landscapes

…and more!

The A55 DSLR camera is the first camera to solve some of the common issues photographers face with the current, given technology, including catching those tricky action shots without the infamous focusing lag, as well as allowing HD movie capabilities with full phase detection. At the moment, the A55 DSLR is available for pre-order at www.sonystyle.com for $749.99 and is expected to ship on or around October 10, 2010. I guess we’ll have to wait and see if it lives up to its reputation.

I recently read an article pointing out the lack of creativity, respect and honor held between clients and creative agencies which I felt I’d share with you. After my own research and experiences, I have found two painfully obvious reasons for the breaking of these bonds that fall solely on the side of the creative agencies. Below are the aspects that I find most troubling and I feel they must be addressed and made public to inform those who are in the market for creative services.

HIDDEN CHARGES AND FEES.
I, myself, have worked inside the walls of advertising agencies and noticed quite a bit of unfair pricing issues. For example, charging an initial cost for an ad concept and when it comes time for resizing the same ad, costs almost amount up to the same as if for the original conceptual design. This is the epitome of hidden, unfair fees. Agencies should provide conceptual ads for one price and resizing fees should not only be a smaller percentage of the original price, but the client should be notified well before it gets to that point.

LACKING CREATIVE COMMUNICATION.
Another unreasonable action conducted by some of these agencies is sending out the wrong people to hold creative meetings with clients. For instance, when you have an “account executive” sent to talk about creative concepts with a client, the outcome will obviously result in watered-down art lacking all ingenuity. In my opinion, an account executive is just a glorified secretary doing what creative directors and marketers should be doing together. Why not have those who create the art let the client know what they believe is best for their vision…isn’t that why they came to you in the first place? What this stems from is the owner’s lack of trust with his/her clients and employees, restricting the room for those to grow within the workplace and producing mediocre pieces.

Once as an onlooker inside the walls of creative agencies, I have learned to structure my own business in a completely different light. Artwork created not only reflects upon the client, but the agency, as well, which is why business politics should never overpower creative incentives.

Keep in mind that I am not speaking of all creative agencies, because I believe that there still places that are truly visionary and are only concerned with producing exquisite artwork. However, there are some that have become completely colorblind except to the ever powerful color of green.
