The worst part is that, even though most of it was deserved, there were also errors in reporting that made the situation worse.At this point, I could have just laid down and given up. I could have rented a home, took out a couple of cash advance credit cards, and made payments in an attempt to rebuild my credit.Had Idone that, it would have taken years, and those would have been some pretty tough years. What It Costs to Delay – Home Financing
Most everyone knows that they have less of chance to get a consumer loan,credit card or mortgage with a low credit score.And we all know that the lower the score, the higher the rate and payments. But what does that mean in real dollars? Let’s look at four buyers of the same home, with four different credit scores, and see what their payments are. All of them are buying a home
with a $200,000 30-year fixed-rate mortgage.

Credit score between 720 and 850 – This consumer at the time could get an interest rate of 5.922%. This would result in a payment of $1,189/month and $228,072 paid in interest over the life of the loan.

Credit score between 675 and 699 – Interest rate would be 6.584%, with a payment of $1275/month and interest paid over the life of the loan of $259,074.

Credit score between 620 and 674 – Now the interest rate is 7.734%, the payment would be $1431/month, and the 30-year loan would require interestpaid of $315,021.redit score between 560 and 619 – The interest rate that might be possible is 8.531%. The monthly payment is $1542/month, and the interest paid over the life of the loan is $355,200.

If someone offered you $353 every month for the next 30 years, I bet you’d take it. That’s the difference between the best and the worst examples above. And, if you put it into total interest dollars, it’s a whopping $127,128!

Now, multiply the effect based on every loan you have. Your car loan would be several points higher, as well as every credit card.It’s a horrible price to pay, especially when you can overcome the problem.

What it Costs to Delay – There’s More

Your Auto Loans
I was visiting with the finance manager at a local car dealership, and we were discussing credit scores and interest rates. He explained that consumers would be amazed if they knew that raising their credit scores only a few points could save them hundreds of dollars every month. He gave me some startling

examples:

With a credit score between 620 and 640, according to this finance manager’s loan resources, the interest rate would be 8.49%. This would be a payment of more than $615/month on a 5-year note for a $30,000 vehicle.

The same vehicle purchased by someone with a credit score of 720 to 740 would get a loan at 4.99%, with a payment of $565/month for five years.

We’re looking at a savings of more than $600/year in this example. And when rates go up, it gets even worse. I just spoke to one borrower with a credit score of 675, and even with a 30% down payment, his vehicle loan required an 11.99% interest rate, while better scores were getting quotes under 7%.

Then we have to add higher home and auto insurance rates as well. That’s right, they’re using your credit score to determine if they’ll issue you a homeowner’s policy or car insurance coverage.The lower the score, the more most of these insurance companies will charge you for insurance. Whether you believe it’s fair to equate your driving and home insurance risk with your credit history, they’re happily getting away with it, and taking your hard-earned dollars to the bank every month.Insurers have convinced government regulators that a low credit score indicates that a person isn’t good with their money and has poor spending and bill payment habits. They use statistics that many dispute, but they show the government regulators that more auto accidents happen to those with low credit scores, and that more claims are also made against homeowner insurance policies. Not only are you paying a whole lot more for credit, it’s also costing you hundreds or thousands of dollars a year in insurance premium increases.

Utility Bills

First, is to get a latest copy of your credit history and try to resolve any errors if there are any. Errors are the last thing you would want on it. It’ll take you time to dispute it with credit agencies so its best to do it as early as possible. If you really want to get that job, you shouldn’t miss paying your bills or settle your balances, this would just get you into more trouble. Missing payments is just another way to hurt your credit and at the same time paying on time is a quick way to earn points to raise your credit score. Try to pay more than the minimum of your balances, it wil have a positive effect on your record and hopefully in the future, it can make your bad credit record better.

A bad credit history is not easy to repair but it is not impossible. Negative points can be a real problem when you are looking for a job, especially if the job position you are applying for is higher, and the only thing you can do is it try and repair it, which really takes a lot of time because some marks can stay on your credit history for seven years. If you were able to prevent damages as early as possible then it’s a good start for your credit score,however, if the damage has already been done, take smalls steps in repairing it and do everything you can to show that you are worthy and financially responsible.

If you have a credit card, yet you know nothing about your credit score range or hardly care about it at all, then it’s about that you should. First of all, your credit score determines your credit worthiness and even if you don’t realize it, your credit score can affect your job, business, lifestyle or how banks, lenders or even companies see you. Creditors have their own parameters, some are very strict about the credit score chart while others may be a little loose about the rules.

Below is a chart to give you an idea about the importance of your credit score.

CREDIT SCORE CHART

850-700 = Excellent credit score–The chances of getting an approved loan is high, with the best and low interest rates.

699-680 = Good credit score — You qualify for credit, with reasonable interest rates.

Having a credit score that falls within the excellent range can really make your life easier. Companies often do a background check on their employees and if you have an impeccable credit history and score, then there’ll be less worrying for you. Also, it would’nt be too hard for you to get a loan, if lenders see you as financially responsible and that you have good faith effort then they wouldn’t think of you as a concern, they wouldn’t lend someone their money if they knew that they’ll be having a hard time repaying what they owe, right? If you already have a good score, what you have to do is to either raise it up or maintain it. Be careful not to let errors slip by, always keep track of your credit. Remember to pay on time, don’t ever miss this because this can make you lose points faster than you think. Pay your balances regularly, and if you can, pay more than the required amount. Not only will you finish paying it faster, but you’ll be paying less interest rates; a good practice if you want to save up money in the long run. Use your card to a minimum, in order to gain points, you need to use your card, but make sure that you dont exceed the limit.

Now that you’re familiar with the credit range, just remember, a low credit score won’t do you any good so if you can, start early in building up your score–it’ll be worth it.
