People’s Park by night

This People’s Park in my hometown, Davao City, is the latest attraction I’ve longed to see for the first time. It was opened sometime in 2007 (months after our second visit to the city). I remember many years back, the place was just a PTA grounds where sports and other events were held. But now it’s turned into something beneficial to the people and the city itself. I should say that the park is quite enchanting at nights when lights are lit and beautifully upholds it’s authentic sculptures inside. As this place will definitely become a tourist attraction, I wish the people would keep it clean and safe. I’ve read that on it’s opening day, some plants were destroyed and walls and benches vandalized. That’s why security is quite tight now upon entering the premises. The park seems crowded on weekends though.

My blogging routine isn’t back to normal yet. I’m still on vacation with hubby here in my hometown and we’re both tired in the night. We’re out everyday to visit different places, aside from visiting and meeting friends and relatives. I know I’ve neglected dropping my EC and bloghopping so please bear with me. When I’m in my hometown, Davao, I can’t think more about anything but food. It’s one thing I missed the most when I’m away. Like this young coconut salad which we fondly call “buko” salad. I remember we used to shred the coconut meat and put it in a container to make buko salad. But now it can be mixed in its shell and it’s ready to eat. It’s fresher than when it’s refrigerated. Moreover, the fruits stay fresh, too. This buko salad have bits of mango, honey melon, papaya, banana and pineapple. And drops of milk to go with the fresh juice of the buko. Love it!

So here I am enjoying my summer trip to Singapore. Hubby and I normally booked a flight from Gothenburg to Singapore and from there booked another flight to Davao. Singapore has been our landmark before proceeding to our final destination. It is because of the direct flight from Singapore to Davao. And hubby worked here in Singapore a long time ago so he’s feeling comfortable here and he knows where to find almost anything. And I, too,liked the city the first I was here five years ago.

Anyhow, the flight this time was almost the same as before. From Gothenburg to Amsterdam took 1 hour and 25 minutes. Then we waited for more than two hours for our flight from Amsterdam to Singapore. That was a 12 hour-flight from 9:30pm and that gave me a little sleep on the plane, thanks to late snacks and late dinner.

We’re staying at St. Regis Hotel for 2 nights. We already did a little shopping today and geez, how time flies! We were’nt able to go to Sentosa Island after shopping. There are a lot of places which I would love to visit again here but 2 days are not enough. I have taken some pictures but I’m running out of time to resize them. Maybe when I have time in Davao, I’ll post some pictures and visit your blogs, too. Tomorrow, we’ll fly to Davao. I can’t wait to see my family again.

WiFi ready phones are becoming a must trend in all mobile phones nowadays.  If I have to choose between 3G and WiFi, I’d prefer the latter best.  The foremost reason why is the cost difference between these two mobile internet connections.  I have been mobile browsing with 3G Turbo and there has been no problem with the speed.  But the cost for surfing is relatively high.  If I have to surf for 9sek a day for 30 days, that will add 270sek to my monthly bill.  But with WiFi that’s everywhere, it costs almost nothing.  Or nothing at all.

Anyway, here’s another WiFi ready phone from Sony Ericsson, if you’re into switching to a new one.  This Sony Ericsson W995 almost has it all in one package.  What’s missing is the touch screen feature and perhaps other top Internet phones features.  You may tell what’s missing with the specs below.

When I am in all spirit to sing any song and without thinking which, the songs “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” and “Heal The World” easily get me into the tune. These are not my favorite songs, but the lyrics and the melody have been stucked in my head like forever. We all know that Michael Jackson had left quite a number of phenomenal songs. Which one do you remember well? Except the Thriller, everybody who grow up with Michael Jackson knows it’s unforgettable.
