About the project

TransMission Club is an electronic music experience which takes place every Saturday in The Button Factory, Temple Bar.

They asked me to develop a Wordpress site which will allow them to advertise the upcoming events (Events Management Plugin), publish interviews and articles related to the undergound world (Blog), show videos and crazy pictures taken during the previous events (Flickr Gallery Plugin), and diffuse their podcasts and mixes to their fans.

Launched at the end of March 2010, the site already reached an average of 25 visits per day in April.

Robert King & Company is a progressive accountancy practice, based in Santry, Dublin, specialising in small to medium sized enterprises (SME’s). Robert King, is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounting and has over fourteen year’s financial experience in Ireland, UK, USA and Germany in both industry and practice.

Robert King and Company needed a website to market their services to potential clients in a professional and dynamic way. Who said that an Accountancy Practice website had to be boring?

The first thing that Robert King wanted to convey through the website was the peace of mind resulting in hiring his practice. They are indeed taking care of all the difficulties related to setting up, running or closing down a business as well as providing meaningful and concise financial information to all their clients.

My challenge was to keep the design serious and professional while empowering the client mission statement (“It’s time for peace of mind”) and offer to the visitors a glimpse of the human side of the company.

That’s why you will find a strong image on each of the 4 pages of the website illustrating the main messages: “Time for Peace of Mind”, “Growth through Knowledge”, “Global views, forward thinking” and “Balancing business needs”. The picture chosen for the “About” page is actually a picture of Robert King himself! I though it was important to show that there was an actual human being behind all this serious talk.

The website was built with an open-source Content Management System(CMS Made Simple), which provides Robert King with a user-friendly interface to update his content and update his news/testimonials and special offers.

The practice asked me to spent some time optimising the SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) of the website, which meant agreeing on keywords as well as organising the content so the Search Engines (Google, Bing…) will take these keywords into consideration and registering the site into Directories…

Last but not least, the site incorporate the famous Google Analytics that gives the company all the information they need regarding their visitors (Traffic sources, Pages viewed, Map overlay, Time on the site etc.)

About the Project

Christophe Dillinger asked me to redesign his website straight after publishing Camera Visibilum, his first photography book I designed for him.

French photographer based in the UK, his main requirements were to have a bilingual French/English website, which he could update himself.

He wished to display his work in a nice gallery and announce his exhibitions and other events to his fans.

A blog type website suited the best for him and Wordpress was the perfect tool for it.

Christophe can update his website from home very easily and enter a French and an English version for each page/news article. Visitors interested in his work can subscribe to his RSS feed and post comments to articles to share their views on his work.

By linking his website to his Flickr Gallery, I aimed to save precious time to Christophe who doesn’t need to upload pictures on two different places.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

In September 2009, I had the opportunity to develop the new elave website designed by Shaughn McGrath.

It was a great experience as I had a personal interest for the “free from” skincare products of this well known brand.

I enjoyed working on such a lovely design, and it was also a challenging one to make Cross-Browsers compatible and W3C XHTML/CSS Standards compliant.

The site includes a flash introduction page, around 60 pages up-datable through a CMS (Content Management System), a newsletter subscription and a template, a news system as well as a contact form.

About the project

Camera Visibilum is the very first book of the photographer Christophe Dillinger.

I met Christophe on Flickr and when he told me about his project of making a book, I jumped on the occasion and offered him my services…

Two months later, Camera Visibilum was born.

Typewriter is going to be Christophe Dillinger’s new photography book, hopefully coming out in April/may 2010. You can get more info about it and register for pre orders on Facebook.

The book was on the shelves of the Dublin Gallery of Photography bookshop (Meeting House – Temple Bar) for a few months and did sell well.

Digital version of the book

I am creating this blog in order to share my view on some aspects of the different things I’m passionate about  which are writing, reading, photography, graphic design, quality web development… among other things.

I will try to make this blog interesting for you, people, interested in one or more of these subjects and I will try to keep it updated as much as possible even if I usually use my spare time playing around one of these interests.

About the Project

The logo design was the first stage of the branding of this new Boutique Hotel located in Picton in New-Zealand.
It is actually based on a flower device that was used on the curtains of the house.

The logo was then applied on the stationery, on the brochure, as well as flyers, hotel doors signs, restaurant and bar menus and a website.
