The iconic fun run that blends fitness and music made its highly anticipated return with its 11th edition as The Music Run by AFFIN Kuala Lumpur 2026, drawing more than 14,000 participants to Bukit Jalil National Stadium. With an upbeat playlist blasting along the 5km route, runners jogged and danced through the signature course in a high-energy celebration of movement, music, and community spirit.

The day-to-night celebration was elevated by dynamic emcees and DJs who kicked off the live entertainment and kept the energy pulsing throughout the stadium. Malaysia’s hottest artists lit up the stage with back-to-back hits, building anticipation to a thrilling peak before the crowd erupted at the appearance of Malaysian music icon Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza. If you’ve been following my journey, you know life in Kajang is never quiet! Between managing the center, community events, and keeping up with my two boys, my own wellness sometimes takes a backseat. But this week, I decided it was time for a “Spring Cleaning”—not just for my body!

I officially started the Atomy Body Fit Challenge on April 6, and I’m kicking things off with a strict 7-day Colon Cleanse diet. I wanted to share my experience so far, the “fuel” I’m using, and the tech that’s keeping me honest.

The 7-Day Strategy: Discipline in a Sachet

The goal of this week was to flush out toxins and reset my metabolism. My days have been timed like clockwork.

• 7:00 AM Kickstart: I start my day by taking my Probiotics 10+ and Psyllium Husk together. This is a powerful combo for gut health and ensures everything is moving smoothly right from the start.
• 8:00 AM – 9:30 AM Energy & Focus: I follow up with HemoHIM, Triple-Up Protein, and Power Vita-Energy. Of course, I still need my caffeine fix! I enjoy an Atomy Arabica Black Coffee at 9:30 AM.
• 11:45 AM The “Secret Weapon”: Finezyme has been a life-saver for digestion after my lunch of steamed fish and veggies.
• 3:30 PM Beating the Slump: This is when cravings usually hit. My trick? Another Psyllium Husk paired with Pomegranate Jelly. It’s sweet, satisfying, and keeps me full.
• 7:00 PM Post-Workout Dinner: After my 30-minute brisk walk, I have my Atomy Easy-Enjoy meal replacement. I rotate between Sesame, Coconut Avocado, and Jujube Longan to keep it interesting!
• 9:30 PM Evening Balance: I finish the day with Vitamin C and Iron to keep my nutrients balanced.

The Results: A Lesson in Transparency

I’ve been tracking my data every morning on my Xiaomi Body Composition Scale S400. By Day 5, I saw a rapid drop down to 62.1kg. However, as any fitness journey goes, the scale isn’t always a straight line down!

By my official Sunday morning weigh-in, my weight settled at 62.5kg. That is because on Saturday, I had to attend a seminar in KL and I forgot to bring some supplements and I also couldn’t have my usual meal, plus I cheated by ordering a latte!

While that’s a slight “bounce back” from my mid-week low, I’m actually really happy with this as my Week 1 Baseline. My starting weight was 63.6kg, which means I’ve achieved a 1.1kg total loss in my first seven days. That is a healthy, sustainable start!

Why the Sunday Fluctuation?

Seeing the number tick up slightly from Friday to Sunday can be frustrating, but it’s part of the process. It could be water retention, muscle recovery from my daily walks, or just my body recalibrating after the 7-day cleanse. The most important data isn’t just the weight—it’s the fat loss. Seeing my body fat mass drop during the week proves the supplements and movement are working under the surface.

My Tech Companions

To track my progress, I’ve been testing out two gadgets:

• Huawei Band 11 Pro: I’ve been wearing this for my walks. I love how lightweight it is, and the heart rate tracking is very responsive.
• Xiaomi Body Composition Scale S400: This scale is a game-changer. It doesn’t just show weight; it breaks down water weight and muscle mass. Seeing the fat mass drop is what keeps me motivated!

How I Feel

The first two days were a challenge, but by the end of the week, the “brain fog” lifted. I feel lighter, my skin feels clearer, and I have more “bounce” in my step. Sunday marks the end of this intensive cleanse phase, and I’m ready for the next stage of the 10-week challenge!

Established as part of OPPO Malaysia’s corporate social responsibility efforts, the CFLC aims to provide a more conducive and engaging learning environment for children in the surrounding community. Step into a musical splendour with the vibrancy of the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO) in a special concert on Wednesday, 15 April 2026 at 8.00 pm at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), KLCC.

Under the helm of Gerard Salonga, the MPYO will present an enticing programme consisting of compositions by Mozart such as the sparkling Piano Concerto No.19 (first movement), Overture to The Magic Flute and the delightful Symphony No.39. Also included in the repertoire   is Beethoven’s playful Piano Concerto No.1 (third movement).

Themed Contours of Classical Beauty, the concert will affirm the youth ensemble as an orchestra to be reckoned with in this region. Its indelible artistry is the testament of the commitment of the musicians of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) who have guided and coached these young musicians through intensive trainings and mentorship. This is as part of the MPO’s initiatives in giving back to the community by sharing its knowledge and skills to the new generation of musicians, nurturing an appreciation towards classical music.

This performance will feature talented pianists as soloists: 12-year old Lim Yee Vaine and 17-year old Dorothy Ong Zhuo En who will enthrall the audience with their exceptional musicianship.

Yee Vaine has achieved Gold at a Yamaha Junior Piano Competition in Japan in 2023. The same year also witnessed her triumph at the Bangkok International Piano Competition and Steinway Malaysia Youth Piano Competition. In 2024, she received accolades at the Vivace Piano Competition. Since 2020, her compositions have been selected by Yamaha Japan and were featured at Yamaha Music Latin America in 2021.

Dorothy, on the other hand, has participated in many masterclasses with renowned pianists from Germany and Finland. She has also performed at the Euroasia Outreach – A Kaleidoscope of Colors II Concert in Johor and participated in prestigious piano competitions

Today, as I reflect on the parable of the ten bridesmaids in Matthew 25, I am struck by how relevant it still is for us.

In Jewish tradition, a wedding was a long-awaited celebration. After the betrothal, the groom would go away to prepare a home, and the bride never knew the exact day or hour he would return. Only the groom’s father knew. Often, the groom would come at night, with a friend running ahead shouting, “Behold, the bridegroom is coming!” The bridesmaids would then light their lamps and join the joyful procession to the wedding feast. If they weren’t ready, they would miss it.

This is the backdrop of Jesus’ parable in Matthew 25:1-13, where five bridesmaids were wise, bringing extra oil for their lamps, while the other five were foolish, unprepared when the bridegroom finally arrived. The lesson is clear: readiness cannot be borrowed or rushed at the last minute.

Lamps and Oil

When I think about this parable, I see the lamp as the outward things people can observe our ministry, our service, our work, even our reputation as Christians. But the oil represents something far more vital: the unseen life of intimacy with God.

Oil is what keeps the lamp burning. Without it, even the most beautiful lamp is useless. Just like a phone with the best features is still powerless if its battery is flat, our faith is powerless without the oil of the Spirit.

The Cost of Oil

What struck me most is that the oil cannot be shared. The wise bridesmaids told the foolish ones, Go and buy some for yourselves. This tells us that intimacy with Jesus always comes with a personal cost. It requires daily investment prayer, time in the Word, obedience, repentance. It cannot be borrowed from someone else’s faith, nor can it be acquired at the last minute when the Bridegroom appears.

Living in the Delay

The parable also reminds us that waiting is not easy. The groom was delayed, and all the bridesmaids grew drowsy and fell asleep. That sounds like us, doesn’t it Sometimes we feel tired waiting for Jesus to return. The world is shaking with wars, disasters, unrest, and false teachings. It can be discouraging. But Jesus warned us these things would come not to frighten us, but to urge us to keep watch and stay ready.

The midnight cry shows that His coming will likely surprise us, because midnight is when most people are asleep. Yet those who have oil will still be ready. And the shut door is a sobering reminder that once the time has come, there are no more chances to prepare.

A Word for Us Today

This parable challenges me personally. It’s so easy to get caught up with the lamps  the schedules, meetings, and tasks of serving God. But without oil, all those outward things will eventually fade.

So I ask myself: Am I keeping my lamp filled with fresh oil. Am I cultivating daily intimacy with Jesus, even in the ordinary days.

Because when the Bridegroom comes and He will come, right on time  may He find us not only holding lamps, but burning brightly with passion for Him.

Lord, keep my lamp burning with fresh oil. Keep my heart full of passion for You as I wait for Your coming. Help me to be ready not only with a lamp in my hand, but with oil in my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Last week and this week, I was reminded again of a simple but powerful truth: when I am weak, Jesus is strong in me.

I had two important events. The first was an Atomy event, where I had to stand on stage and present to an audience of over 40 people. On the very day I was to present, I fell sick � cough, flu, the cold. I remember standing in the washroom beforehand, praying and asking God to strengthen me. When I finally stood in front of the audience, something amazing happened. The sickness seemed to pause. I carried through the whole event without a problem, and only later did the symptoms return.

Then on Tuesday, I had to share a devotion with my colleagues. Compared to the Atomy event, this seemed simpler, but in reality it felt harder because I had little time to prepare � only starting on Monday evening. By the morning of my sharing, my sickness had gotten worse. I was sneezing nonstop at home, hardly able to breathe with my nostrils blocked. Yet, after a time of worship with the team, I began sharing. Just like before, I went through the entire devotion without struggling in my body. Only after finishing did I feel the symptoms return again.

These two moments made me realize something: when we step out in obedience to God, sometimes struggles arise to discourage us. For me, it was sickness � something I rarely experience. The temptation was to give up, but when we push through and do what God calls us to do, He brings us through as well. His grace meets us right where we are weak.

The apostle Paul wrote, *�But he said to me, �My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.� Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that Christ�s power may rest on me.�* (2 Corinthians 12:9).

I experienced this firsthand. My weakness became the very place where Christ�s strength was revealed.

Scripture reminds us:

• �But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.�* (Isaiah 40:31)
• �The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.�* (1 Thessalonians 5:24)
• �I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.�* (Philippians 4:13)

These promises assure us that God does not just call us to tasks, He also supplies the strength to carry them out.

If you are in a season where you feel too weak, too unprepared, or too worn out to do what God is asking of you � take courage. His strength is made perfect in your weakness. When we lean on Him, He will carry us through, even if only for the exact moment we need it.

So don�t give up. Push through. Trust Him. And let your weakness be the very place where His power is made visible.
