Canton's townhouse

This is the latest project that Pam and I worked on. Great customers! It was a townhouse in Canton.

Young guy that wanted to have a nice living room area where he could watch the games, sit on a comfy sofa, be able to put his feet on the coffee table and have a nice and small area for his dining table.

He loves rustic pieces but he also likes funky accessories, like the shaggy area rug that he choose for his living room. A nice size TV stand that will have the right scale for his 60" Flat screen.

Baltimore's old pictures, old maps and sports posters lover. A tall locked bookcase to storage all his autographed pieces.

Vegas World Market

I wanted to share with my customers all the beautiful stuff I a saw at Vegas Furniture Trade Show.

It's kind of difficult to show all the new and incredible stuff that all of this vendors have in the show, but this is

Sometimes it takes you a little bit of imagination. Imagining your self in the space and thinking about the things that you might need or would like to do in the spaces.

My 3rd trip to High Point, NC!

I wanted to gather all the pictures of the stuff that I saw at the High Point Market in North Carolina, October 2012. This was my 3rd trip to Market and maybe the one that I had enjoyed the most since every time you go there it feels like you get more familiarized with it. You understand better how it works and where to go. I can't wait to get some of the pieces for my customers. We saw tons of different pieces that were so much fun, functional, full of rich colors and textures. I can't really post all the stuff that we saw, there are places were you can't even take pictures, but here we go with some of the pieces and displays that I liked the most for our store Su Casa.

Chandra Rugs, one of my favorite vendors, stole the show! Incredible displays, clean, elegant and really neat rug designs. Gets you so inspired, for a moment you don't really know what rug design you like the best, all of them are incredible.

I loved this trunk, I think it's a really smart and functional idea!

Tell me who wouldn't like to have this bar in their living room?

Love this hanging lamps over the table! So exited, we ordered them for the store... pretty soon we'll have them on display. (Love Industrial style)

This chairs are incredibly comfy and stylish, I want them. Good thing that we will have them in the store also. At least I'll get to live with them for a little while!

This one is a rocking and swivel chair..... Isn't it cool? We will be able to order them in tons of different fabrics.

Don't look at the fabric....hahaha. I love to incorporate benches in my living room designs just because they give you extra siting and they are light looking pieces, doesn't overwhelm your space.

Having a bench with storage? wowww that's super smart. Love it, helps you create more functional spaces.

After looking at this displays, makes me want to have a beach house. I already gather all the information on the fabrics and pieces used in this displays, can't wait to apply some of the materials and concepts used in this displays to some of my projects.

IN LOVE WITH NEUTRAL

Lots of our vendors proved that neutral, are and will always be one of the most beautiful color schemes that you can use for you project. Check this out!

Now this pieces have been kind of our signature lately! Reclaimed pieces. Love it, some of them are made of old canoes wood, made in India, isn't cool?

Row-Houses

Baltimore is a beautiful city, lots of things to do and see... One of the characteristics of residential architecture in Baltimore are the row-houses, which have a really narrow and long layout.

This characteristics make row houses a challenge to furnish, that's the reason that I came up with some layout ideas.

In the hunting for my boat couch!!!

Christian had been looking for the right sofa. Some times is kind of difficult to find the right piece for your place, but when you have all the limitations that Christian had... believe me it gets really complicated.

- A sofa that can pass thru really small door way (in a boat).

- Nice looking one.

- That would be no longer that 53 inches.

- That could fusion as sofa sleeper.

- Easy to clean.

- Nice to lounge in.

- That will update the look of the boat interior.

Well after thinking and looking thru binders, I came up with some proposals like this:

Little Italy project face # 2

La Esperanza Hotel

My favorite customer ever hehehe, of course, when I used to live in Guatemala they used to give me so many projects. I'm grateful for all the trust that they put on me. This was the second project that they asked me to do. I was in charge of all the Interior and Landscape Design for the hotel. Of course I had to hire a Landscape Designer to execute that part of the job, but we worked very close since I had the responsibility of the whole project. It was around 1.5 years working in this project since I started working in it a month after the construction began.

CGN Office

While I was working in the remodeling project of an apartment, the owner asked me if I wanted to join to the professional team that was remodeling the office that he was working for. I was suppose to give some character to the project, choose finishes, furnish the whole floor, wall art, plants, ceilings designs, illumination, flooring, etc.

We used glass walls as divider for the offices. It was great idea to keep the illumination going thru the other spaces without windows. I wanted to create some kind of privacy for the people using this offices, so I came up with this sandblasted design for the glass. We actually used this kind of sticker that you attach to the glass, and it gives the illusion of sandblast finish. It's awesome since is easy to use, inexpensive and clean to work with.

We used modular carpet tiles so we were able to easily create designs on the floor, but besides that, the most import thing about using this type of carpet is the fact that we were able to leave them an extra amount of pieces in order to be used as replacements. Thanks to who ever had the idea of selling the carpets in this way is a great and smart tool to work with. Mediterranea Space

Loved the project was so much fun. Made me think like a mom! hehehehe with a big baby's room project. Now I understand how exited you can get with kids stuff. Made me feel like a 5 years old again.

Getting Su Casa, Dewey Beach store ready for the summer!!!

Last year was our first year at Dewey beach. Nick, Derek and I were the ones putting together the store. It was tiring but it was so much fun. I didn't have that much experience putting together a store in 3 days. Yea, 3 days, hehehe, it was crazy, all of us opening boxes, tons of trash, trying to make displays, placing the furniture where it needed to be, cleaning, etc. Can you imaging the mess that we had? hahaha although it was a great experience. This is one of my favorite parts of this job. This year our store is going be ready to open it's doors on Memorial day. I decide that I wanted to document and share some pictures of how we did it this year.

Tracee and I, hit the road with her Mini Cooper full of boxes. On the other hand Greg was on his way to the Beach with a truck full of boxes and furniture too.

(Tracee and me) Believe me we look prettier when we are working the floor at the stores!

This was a couple of minutes after we arrive to the store.

Greg started to put together the furniture. And we decide that we wanted to unpack all the boxes before working on displays. Is easier to see everything out, get rid of all the trash, cardboard and packing stuff. I think that was a really good idea. I felt like we were kind of synchronized. Like we knew what to do without talking.
The first day was all about unpacking and separating all the extra items to put it in our tiny storage room.

Second day, Tracee organized the back room, all the extras had to be really well organize in our tiny stocking room in order to fit in it (by the way... Tracee is really good at it).

Now the fun part, we started to work on displays, I love that part and I know Tracee loves it as well.

We know it still looks empty, we need rugs, more accessories, more pieces of furniture, etc. But this was the first trip. We'll be receiving more stuff, believe me, much more stuff. It's so fun having the chance to make all of your displays with all of this incredible items.

This is one of my favorite items in the store.

but i like this ones better.

Well, so after all we had to enjoy a refreshing beer, we love how the store looks so far, there is tons of things that still need to be done, but so far it looks nice.

Su Casa Dewey Beach Contest

Last year Su Casa opened a new store in Delaware, Dewey Beach. We post a contest in our Facebook page, the customers were supposed to post pictures of one of the rooms at their beach house. The one with the most "Likes" would win $5,000.00 dollars in furniture.

Genevieve was our contest winner. Here some pictures of her space:

Genevieve and her husband told me what they were thinking for that space. They wanted a space where they could be able to relax, read, watch TV, use their laptop or get some work done with out been interrupted.

They also wanted to keep the same wall color, a tiny desk, super comfy sofa, a TV stand with tons of storage, etc. I made a couple of suggestions, we met up a couple of times and came up with something like this:

We were really happy with the idea of having a really comfy sectional. The one that we picked was one of my favorite sofas (sectional) in the store, is called the Grace Sofa, filled with feather and down. You feel like you sink in it, I love it, I could spend a whole night on it.

They also had several pieces finished in white lacquer in the living room and dinning room. We wanted to keep the concept, we didn't want the space to look like a room in a different house. We wanted everything to flow with the rest of the existing decoration in the house.

After going through different catalogs we found the pieces that we were looking for. Then moved ahead and ordered the furniture. It usually takes 8-10 weeks to get it in, but they were not in a rush, since they needed it for next summer.

A few weeks ago we delivered the stuff. We drove from Baltimore, MD to Delaware. They were so excited and I was excited as well.

It looks awesome, in the picture the walls look grayish, but.... they are actually green, a deep, nice and elegant green. I'm really happy with the result. They are still accessorizing the space since they already had some wall art that they wanted to use. It was a incredible experience working with such a nice couple. Here some pictures of the after.

Ellicott City House, "Enjoying Nature"

This is one of the most recent projects that I've been working on! The customers have been fabulous, they already order all the furniture, and I'm so exited, can't wait to see the result. The space is totally empty the only piece that they have is the wall art which is incredible and they were nice pieces of inspiration for the rest of the space. I would call this space "Enjoying Nature".

I feel that is awesome when you are designing one of those since you are all the time thinking what your customers will do in that specific space and what their needs are. So yesterday I worked at PAD, it was a good day to work on the presentation for my new customer that lives in Fells Point, at The Crescent! Love that condominium, is really nice and has nice spaces. I took some pictures of his place and then came out with this photo montage.

Some Arts and Crafts Inspiration

I haven't had a customer asking me to work with this specific style in their project before. I loved it and learn a lot. They built a house in Virginia and then went to SU CASA in Baltimore to buy all the furniture from us. That was really nice since they have been customers for a long time, but this time it was me helping them. I'm posting pictures of the presentation that I made for them. Now they are really happy living in their new place with a nice Arts & Crafts Inspiration.

Elegant And Bohemian!

This is a presentation that I made for a girl that lives in Baltimore city, MD. (Charles St.),I enjoyed this project a lot since I identify with her style. A very elegant space with a bohemian touch. The use of neutral and earthy colors in combination with natural textures gives the space a comfy and warm sensation, some kind of connection with nature also.

Apartment Guisella R.

This was a nice project. The customer was a young girl that lived in the apartment by her self. She wanted to have a nice space to enjoy at the end of the day after a long day at work. She had a very formal and classy personality. I try to reflect that in her decoration!

A cozy basement, Little Italy fase #1

A Row-house in little Italy, Baltimore, MD. My customers didn't know what to do with this basement in their house. After talking with them and putting some ideas together, we came up with something like this.

Now they say that they spend a lot of times in this area of the house. How nice is that.

Tropical Space

This was a great project, it was 185 kilometers from the city that I was living in Guatemala, It was a house right next to a river... It was awesome traveling there, get to see the nature, the river and just enjoy traveling. It was a little bit tiring, but it was worth, since at the end of the project you get see the results and looking at the owners so happy, that’s the best reward ever.
