My project, which is this Let’s Talk Radio podcast, is “officially” finished. I graduate college on the 15th of April and will be entering the real world. I hope to continue some form of this podcast, discussions, interviews, etc because I’ve had such an incredible experience doing this. In the mean time, I just want to thank you for your support, your encouragement, your comments, and well, listening!

Hello friends, happy Monday!

I think this is one of my favourite episodes to date… It could be because I was a little selfish and asked a lot of questions for myself. However, my guest, Edward Colley is the loveliest man with such a warm and calming presence; I’m sure listening to this episode will have an effect on all of you. We talk about vibrations, raising your frequency, staying present, the illusion of time, creating balance, and he even shares a powerful breathing exercise with me. I suggest trying it yourself as you listen! It’s interesting to notice that a lot of my guests start saying the same thing when it comes to taking care of yourself; that is a sort of validation for me. PS. I had just RAN across campus which is why I’m so out of breath for the first 10 minutes of the show. Don’t worry… It’s not because I was nervous.

Instead of asking all the questions, I let my mom ask me one.

It’s not very often people take the time to talk about the process we go through after losing someone we love. In this episode, my mom and I share our story of loss, our process of recovery; both of us had similar yet different experiences as we built ourselves back up. It’s not pretty, it’s not the same process for everyone… it’s just honest… and I think incredibly valuable to share with people. Sometimes you don’t want to wake up the next day, but we do. What happens when your personality, your whole physical life is shattered from a trauma? What does that feel like, what is left? Why do we keep going? What does life look like two years later?

Let’s Talk About Grief

 I can say I’m in a much deeper, more aware place, with a stronger more genuine appreciation for all life. This is how that happened.

The next episode (coming out this Monday) is on the process people go through when you lose someone you love. The process is definitely not the same for everyone. My mom and I discuss how and why you continue moving forward, what it feels like throughout this process, and how drastically different your life becomes.

In last week’s episode, we talked about the different parts of ourselves and how we need to acknowledge and then incorporate them into our being. I think we provided a nice basis for what that means, talked a bit about the process of retreiving these parts of ourselves… However I felt like there was more to talk about on this subject, especially in emphasizing that we can all do this work on our own!! On top of that, I have been talking about my mom in so many episodes now (I think all of them actually) so it just seemed appropriate to have her on the show to finally talk for herself. She is an angel; a gentle, beautiful and wise woman who I adore and respect greatly. I love everything she says in this episode because it’s empowering, loving, honest and non-judgemental. Thanks for being on the show Mom!

This show is rather interesting. It has sort of a different feel because this topic is something I’m interested in, I’ve had experiences with it, but I don’t fully understand it all. I share a lot of stories and ask a LOT of questions because I was trying to find clarity for myself and others. I hope somewhere within it all you can pull some valuable information. Thanks to Janis and Siobhan from Two Healing Chicks for putting up with all my questions! We start off talking about the different parts of ourselves, how they are created, how to bring them back into your heart… and then we end up talking about a little past life regression. We do get back on track then, only to find out Gabrielle has WORK TO DO.

Let’s Talk: About Ourselves

This is a quick video reflecting on Episode 3 and giving you some details about Episode 4. Last weeks episode was sort of an explosion of mixed thoughts, emotions, insecurities… After listening to the whole thing through I realize I definitely didn’t emphasize enough that the things I was feeling and sharing are only one side of the story. I know it kind of goes without saying… But now I’m saying it too. The experiences I’ve had throughout life, are experiences I’ve attracted based on what I need to learn. What I take from an experience, the things I feel… I’m choosing them. It’s not acceptable to judge the other people in these experiences, and I feel its especially not okay to be responsible for creating a negative view of someone… when it’s based on my thoughts alone.

Let’s Talk Radio hit the road last weekend. I had some news to share with my family in Comox, so I thought I’d bring you along. After what seems like a casual start to the show, we actually hit on some serious issues… But yes, there is also a Justin Beiber tune at the end. This show is a reflection on identity… what does that even mean? The trouble with labels, the struggles people go through when getting to know themselves (especially in relation to everyone else) and ultimately what it means to accept it all!
