A quick note before we dive in: When I made this “sped squad” design, I was designing for the special education teachers who use that shorthand affectionately, and it’s still a popular design on Etsy right now. But I’ve heard from folks that “sped” can land very differently, especially coming from someone outside that community, and can even be used as a slur by kids themselves. I don’t want to erase that. So please use your own judgment here: if this doesn’t feel right for your classroom or your kids, skip it, no hard feelings. I’m leaving the design up because some of you specifically asked for it, but I wanted to name the concern up front rather than pretend it wasn’t raised!
