I am still in my fighting – fight so hard indeed — so i can blogging in high gear again as like in early start of this blog. I find a great post idea in this writer block fighting process – one great idea that make me able to create this article. Yeah – the idea is as like in this article title. I think it will be great that I write what situation that make my blogging in this really bad situation. It even lead me into writer block situation. I write all the cause which slow down my blogging gear. I write all of the cause in this article – the old and the newest – therefore it is clear that the cause in this article is not only the cause of current writer block situation but also the cause of others writing block situation that i faced before.

I hope this article make me to become fully aware of the cause which lead me in writer block situation and then so I can avoid it in future. We should learn something from our each bad situation, right?

And here the culprit and also*(may be) the solutions:

Sickness

Yeah – sickness surely the big factor for this current hard situation of my blogging time. I was sick for almost three days, plus two days for full recovery. This situation make me do not able to do all of my blogging activities such as writing, commenting, reading, social media submitting, etc. The whole my blogging activities was fully shut down. It is surely a big set back for me – especially about blogging. And guess what? Yes, the problem is not solve completely even i am already recover from my sickness. It is because the long pause make that needed hard work to recover my sense of blogging.

Solution: Try to never have long time sickness. Always care of our healthy — we should make our healthy as our first priority in our life. It is hard to care our healthy when we always in front of our computer. Therefore we need to take time and rest our body. We should off from our blogging, do some exercise – and also do not forget to sleep and eat in schedule.

Game

Yeah – a game surely can drag me from my productive blogging time into fully game time I am not gamers exactly but I play some of the classic game such as jagged alliance and heroes might and magic. And my time surely consume a lot if there are new episode from both of these classic game. It is because I will play it the whole day and surely it will harm my blogging activities.

Solution: Do not ever try to start to play a game – especially the game that we like so much. If we already started it and can not stop, please stick to our schedule that we already decide before. As example, we set our schedule to only play a game 2 hour a day so we still have time for our blogging.

Season Holiday

My blogging activities are also slow down when in Christmas and new year holiday before. Usually, holiday will boost my blogging activities in highest gear since I am a part time blogger which have off line job that consume my time in daily work. Therefore, each off work (holiday) is optimized for blogging activities. I also intend to do that in pass Christmas and new year holiday but it do not work as I plan. It is because Christmas and New year holiday is a special occasion in which I will spend my time with my big family. It is hard to find a time to blog.

Solution: Honestly, I do not have a solution for this because I think that it is good that we spend our time with our family for holiday. Therefore, the only solution that I can think is that we schedule our post during this holiday which I do not think it as real solution.

Off Line Working

As I mention before that I am a part time blogger – I have my 8 to 5 off line job in a company where I almost spend all of my time in working day. I can manage my blogging in high gear if it is in normal 8 to 5 working situation but sometime, there is a big project that make me work for almost 24 hours a day. This situation surely lead me in hard situation. It is really hard to maintain my blogging activities in this crazy busy situation so as consequence, my blogging will be slow down into lowest blogging gear.

Solution: We should set our priority in this situations. If our priority is blogging, we should to think become a full time blogger. And if our priority is our off line working, we should take a rest from our blogging and focus in our off line work. And after all set, we can start again our blogging in full gear. I think we also can still blogging in this extreme busy situations – We may can allocate one hour a day for our blogging – but surely it is in very slow blogging speed.

OK, let’s uninstall our WordPress Blog manually in just two steps:

Step #1 Remove the file

I remove sub-domain file by deleting it trough FTP client. I use FileZilla as one of great free FTP client for it so I can easily do this step.

Step #2 Remove The Database

This is the most important part in WordPress Blog manual uninstalling so can get the clean uninstalling result. OK, let’s do this step. I remove all data base that related with sub domain trough Cpanel. I use MySQL Databases Features that available in my Cpanel (thanks to HostGator to uninstall the database easily.

Just click the icon and it will bring to my WordPress database. The next step is that I only need to delete sub-domain database which I want to remove. If i do not know the exact database, I always can check it trough phpMyAdmin which also available in my Cpanel. Since I remember the database name, I just delete it without need to check it trough phpMyAdmin.

The confirmation page will pop up. Just click “yes” to completely remove the database.

It’s A Rub!

Yup, It is a rub! The manual uninstalling process of a WordPress Blog is complete. Now, I can use the sub domain freely for other usage. I can install a new fresh WordPress platform on it or also can install another platform such as joomla if I need new venture. In short, the sub domain (or domain) already free to use for whatever that needed.

Writer block is horror situation for us as bloggers. It is the situation in where we do not able to write even some blah…blah…blah… article for our blog content. I do not really know what exactly the cause of this writer block situation — what i know is that there are no any idea to write, even tough i try so hard to squeeze my deeply thought. And, I aware that even the most known bloggers in blogosphere face this writer block situation. The difference between great blogger and so-so blogger is how they can handle this writer block situation.

The great blogger usually can overcome the writer block perfectly, they even turn writer block situation become source of idea for great new content. The so-so blogger usually do not try to find any solution to overcome it and leave their blog until died for sure. Of course, I do not want to become only so-so blogger, that’s why i try to find how can i overcome writer block situation each time it come. And I already found some of tips that can make me overcome the writer block situation perfectly.

There are so many ideas that we can find in our blog comment form. As example, We can turn a simple question in our blog comment form become a useful article. If we want, we also can turn some controversial disagree comment become controversial article which surely can bring our blog a lot of traffic. There are so many potential in our comment form which will be very helpful in writer block situation. Of course, it is hard to make an article from spam like comment such as niche article, great post, etc.

Read Our Old Post

Read our old post usually can give great insight for us that lead to new great article. Believe me, I experienced it. For your info, my post about English and blogging is come after I read my very first posting. It ring a bell in my head to write that article when see how poor my English in my old article. It’s a great example about how read our old post can overcome writer block situation, isn’t it? And also we can easily create a round up article from our old post – and this is what I do when write article about how we can start a blog like a pro. Another way is that we can re-write our old post that still have context for present situation – and if we do rewrite article in right way, it may become the great article that bring more traffic.

In my opinion, this tip is as same as before tips – the difference is that we read other blogger blogs. Yeah – by read other blog, we surely can find many ideas in it. I, sometimes, use read local newspaper to find idea for article writing. There are many thing in local newspaper that can use as idea for our blog article. We can pick some article that have relationship with our blog and write our opinion about that article which is usually produce unique article because of the local things. We also can find latest local news that related to our blog niche and we can write an news article base on that. Of course, we should put our opinion according that news to make the article better. After all, blogging is about opinion, right? And local newspaper give something that you can opinion about – and while you do that – write your opinion in blog – it mean that writer block situation overcome successfully.

So, here I am to share how I use Google Buzz. I hope it can help you as guidance in Google Buzz using.

As I already write before, Google Buzz already integrate in Gmail Account. So, the first thing is login to Gmail account and see the Google Buzz part in it – right below my inbox – and click it.

The Sharing

Buzz link clicking will show the Google Buzz page to me. Yeah – I am in Google Buzz world now.

Now, I ready to Buzz the world! I can share many things trough Google Buzz form–  such as my thoughts, an interesting link,and great Photo.

Connected Sites

I integrate my sites to my Google Buzz trough built in “Connected Sites” feature.

I just click the “Connected Sites” link and it will bring me to “connected sites” page. I find lists of available site which i can choose freely to integrate it with Google Buzz. I my self choose to integrate three sites which are twitter, this Bloging Tips Blog, and my Telecommunication Blog. This make all update of these three sites will automatically trigger an update in my Google Buzz – and share it to all of my Google Buzz followers. Please note that I should input my blog url in my Google profile before it appear in “Connected site” lists of Google Buzz.

The Follow

As others social networking, the whole system is depend to follower – and there is no exception for Google Buzz. I should have as many as possible targeted followers to gain maximum benefit from it. And thanks to Gmail integration which make all Gmail account in the list automatically following. It make that I will have followers automatically too – my Google Buzz directly have around 12 followers in first time my Google Buzz active with do nothing. But – of course that is not enough to get great benefit. Therefore I need to improve my followers as fast as I can. For that – I always remember an old adage in social networking which say: “give first and you will get the return”. Base on my own experience, It is applied on almost all of social networking. If I start follow someone, someone will follow me back. So, first thing that I do – try to search people to follow. I can easily find it trough “find people” features of Google Buzz. Just click it.

It will bring me to “find people” page in which I can search people by their name or email address. I can easily find the email address trough my blog comment form and fill the finding in search form and then click “search” button. And voila! I always have people to follow.

Another way to get more followers in Google Buzz is by expose the Google Buzz account in blog. It will make my blog readers can follow me in Google Buzz easily by click my Google Buzz account link. And that’s exactly what I try here. I share my Google Buzz profile trough icon below. So You can click it if want to follow me in Google Buzz,and I surely will follow you back immediately after you follow me.

Final Words

There are three things that I do when use Google Buzz which are sharing, connected sites, follow. In my opinion, all of those three are the basic things that we can and should do in Google Buzz. I hope that Google will add more features in future so Google Buzz really can be a main player in social media networking like what Facebook and Twitter already done now.

And here I share what i do in first time – right after BSA approve my application:

Subscribe to BSA newsletter

Yes, It is not a mandatory. I surely can choose to not subscribe in BSA newsletter without any consequences but i choose to subscribe. It is because i think that each information from BSA is important to improve my selling in future. And i suggest to all new BSA member to subscribe the BSA newsletter in first step when their blog js approved. Base on my own experience in similar service – it is worthy. The minimum fill requirement are Email Address and First Name – others optional fill are last name and update pertaining. I subscriber to all information that available which are Advertiser Information, Publisher Information, and Everything Else (Updates, Tutorials, Alerts, etc).

Setup Ad Zone

After do my BSA newsletter subscriber, the next step is setup an Ad Zone. Ad Zone setup is about in where we will put the ads and what the type of the ads. There are two Ad types which are “Images Only” and “Text Ad+Description”. As my first trial, i choose to use 9 of 125×125, only image ads, and put it in below of header area and with $15 each as price — a reasonable price in my opinion. I fill all information regarding my needs for it in Ad Zone setup fill box and then click “Add Zone” button to apply it.

Add The BSA Code

The Next Step is that I add the Ads Code to my blog. It seems the code will related to my Ad Zone which i setup before. I click “Get Ad Code” link.

There are two codes there which are:

Thanks god that I use Atahualpa WordPress Theme so I can put the code – especially code#1 – easily trough Atahualpa Theme Options (ATO). I put the code in “HTML Inserts: Body Bottom” of “Add HTML/CSS Inserts” ATO area.

For Code#2, i also use ATO – i copy paste the code#2 into “Configure Header Area” of “Style & edit HEADER AREA” so the form become like below:

It make the BuySellAds (BSA) banner space is put right below of this blog’s header area – a great place for advertiser banner, right?

And we can customize how the ads will appears by do some customization in BSA install add code settings area. I check the “Show Add Here” and “Repeat Ad Here” to show “Advertise Here” text in prepared BSA Ads space. I also do some CSS customization in Advanced Settings – Anchor Style. For the current BSA Ads space, I put the below code in Anchor Style form:

Add New Domain by using HostGator Blog Hosting Service Cpanel Addon Domains

• Login to cpanel page

• Go to Domains part and click “Addon Domains” icon

• Now we in “Addon Domains” page. Fill all form with needed information and then click “Add Domain” icon to apply it.

• Ok, the new Addon Domains is already created succefully.

GoDaddy Name Server Changing

Now, needed to change the nameservers in my register domain service ( i use GoDaddy). I feel the nameservers form whith my web hosting service (i use HostGator). The HostGator nameservers are NS2205.HOSTGATOR.COM and NS2206.HOSTGATOR.COM .

• Login to GoDaddy

• Click “Domain Manager” link to manage the domain

• In “Domain Manager” page, checklist the domain name that we want to use and click “Nameservers” icon.

• Choose host in another provider and fill the web hosting name server in Nameserver 1 and Nameserver 2.

• And then click “Ok” button to apply it. And do some checking if new nameserver already applied trough internet. I do ping to the domain and find the ip addres is already hostgator server ip addres, so all already set succefully.

Conclusion

If your web hosting service allow you to have unlimited domain, you can use it to save some expenses for new blog or site. Yeah – you do not need to buy new web hosting service anymore for it. You can use addon domain facility and you can have a blog or site in your current web hosting service. The first step of it is use addon domain to add your new domain in your current web hosting.

Yup, this blogging tips blog is using Atahualpa 3.4.5 as WordPress Theme now. I just aware of Atahualpa 3.4.5 release recently when try to mess with Atahualpa 3.4.4 function.php to make a great author box in each post. As usual, when we mess with function.php in wrong way, there an impact. The impact this time is that the blog can not be loaded properly, and because of it i do my search in internet how exactly to mess with Atahualpa 3.4.4 function.php in right way. Instead find the right way to mess with function.php, i find the news that Atahualpa creator release the new version which is Atahualpa3.4.5.

This new version of Atahualpa WordPress Theme is claimed :

• support for post thumbnails
• including theme options to control them
• fix for a issue in IE8 where more than just the next menu level was dropping down under certain circumstances.

So, i think that i better upgrade my Atahualpa 3.4.4 to Atahualpa 3.4.5 before continue to mess with Atahualpa’s function.php. And i find it is really easy to upgrade Atahualpa to new versions. The upgrading process is as same as WordPress engine upgrading or WordPress plugin upgrading – just click, click, and click. Here find how I do this easy upgrading:

Go to “Appearance” and click it

Click “Themes” link

Click “upgrade automatically” link below the Atahualpa 3.4.4 theme information

OK, the upgrade already done successfully and take only four steps. It seems there are no big impact except the header image become default image of Atahualpa3.4.5 theme. I just need to go to Atahualpa 3.4.5 image folder and change it back to this blog logo image. So, it seems that Atahualpa really a great WordPress Theme which provide seamless upgrade process to new versions. Glad that I decided to use this theme back then.

So Now, i must say:”Good bye Atahualpa 3.4.4 and welcome Atahualpa 3.4.5″ . This change surely will affect my Atahualpa 3.4.4 post series title in future Atahualpa configuration post. I may change it become Atahualpa 3.4.5 configuration in next Atahualpa configuration article. And the best part of this upgrading process is that I just need to click, click, and click – what an easy process. The additional work that I do after upgrading is only change header image back to this blog logo.

It is because Search Engine Optimization (SEO) things. From my own experience, no matter how hard we try to optimize the free blog, it is surely will be finally defeated by self-hosted blog. As you may already aware that i have telecommunication blog which hosted in one of greates free blog providers, blogspot.com. I already did hard work to optimize it to look great in eyes of search engine. The answer is simple. My friend blog use self-hosted blog with WordPress as blog platform. Yeah – that’s the only answer why his new telecommunication blog beaten my old telecommunication blog. He can easily beat my blogpost blog because he can put any SEO plugin easily which I do not have in blogspot platform. In here, I do not tell how search engine calculate it – i do not believe that someone know how search engine calculate SERP anyway – i only tell how i experience the difference between free hosted blog and paid hosted blog. And yes, the comparison is apple to apple.

Conclusions

Own domain self-hosted is always far more better from free blog service (such as blogspot.com and wordpress.com.) in term of search engine optimization (SEO). Believe me! I already experienced it. I do not use any calculation – no one know how search engine calculate SERP by the way – I just use my common sense when face real experience about it. So, if you want to get highest result in SERP, always use own domain self-hosted blog.

The Review which Base On Traffic

It is already February, so it is already a month since i declare my blog preparations and goal. I think it is already time to review the result. Focusing the blog niche while create a simple logo for it

It is easier for me to create an article after do niche focusing for this blog. It make me able to create some good blog posting inthis  recent January. It seems that “digg digg” WordPress plugin collect all needed social media button and allow us to put it all in our blog easily. It is really helpful because i can get many social media button in my blog only by install one WordPress plugin. Of course, i choose to install “digg digg” plugin in which i can have many social media button instead install “tweetmeme” button plugin which is only for re-tweet button. Yeah – i know that we can customize “tweetmeme” button plugin to show others social media network in it but if there is easy way, so why must i go to hard way, mustn’t I? Therefore i install the “digg digg” WordPress plugin in this blogging update blog.

“Digg Digg” WordPress Plugin Installation

• Go to WordPress admin page
• Go to “Plugins” area and Click it
• Click “Add New”
• Fill “digg digg” as keyword in plugin search facility
• Click “Search Plugins” button
• Click “Install” link in digg digg
• Click “Install Now”
• Click “Activate Plugin”

Ok,, the “Digg Digg” WordPress Plugin Installation already done successfully. Now, we need to customize it base on our needs. I my self customize it to show re-tweet and diggs button in above right of the post this time. I may add others social media button in future such as facebook, stumbleupon, etc.

“Digg Digg” WordPress Plugin Settings

• Go to “Settings” area and click it

• Click “Digg Digg”

• Choose to show button in all blog area

• Leave the buttons line up as horizontal

• Activate Twitter and diggs button as right float and setting the weight to order the button appeareance.

• Click “Save” button to aplly the costumizing.

The chosen social media buttons appear in each posting so readers can easily digg and retweet this blog article. Hope it can increase this blog traffic for long term.

Conclusions

Digg Digg WordPress plugin is surely very useful to add social media button in our blog. And Digg Digg do not only add it but add it in greater area of blog ( in above of each blog posting). This placement surely make the social media buttons more visible if we put it in below each post only. And Digg Digg surely more effective than singgle plugin for each social media button (such as tweetmeme button). With Digg Digg in this blog, i think i can remove “Add to Any” WordPress plugins and fully depend to Digg Digg for Social Media Link adding.
