Sometimes when I go back and read old blog posts I have to laugh at myself. I should have just taken the time to pay more attention to utf-8 encoding and I wouldn’t have had to use any kind of find/replace method to solve the problem I had above.

Más claro que eso… imposible. Quedarse en la indecisión usualmente cobra un precio más alto que decidirse por un framework no tan apropiado.
Y como diría el Chapulín Colorado: “Lo sospeché desde un principio”.

Acostumbro desarrollar sitios con Drupal, pero ahora particularmente tengo un sistema con requerimientos muy “caprichosos” lo que me exige -IMHO- utilizar código propio.

Me he decidido por empezar con CI.

I was looking for such a solution which clearly defines the problem and a straight solution as well.

Haha. I’m another one who is faced with this choice. Surprisingly difficult but yes, your best advise yet, is to pick a community.

I’m inclined to choose CakePHP, as this one has a great bunch in my neighborhood meeting monthly just to chat!

I’ve worked with every other CMS out there except EE, though I think I have an EE project in my near future. I’ve also paid for an EE license, but the client backed out of before the work began.

Anyhow, I’d love to take a look at things (via working demo, etc … whatever is convenient for you).

Naw, the PHP one i was using was Expression Engine, from the creators of the CodeIgniter framework. I was pretty excited about it originally, even forked out 90$ to get the paid features. WHAT?! pay for a cms you say!? Ya, its pretty elegant software and as I always say I don’t mind paying for good things. That said, I wouldn’t do it again. Happy to give you a tour sometime of my app, its already quite functional, though not fully implemented. I may have a screencast I did of it handy somewhere. WIll look.

Is your PHP CMS a homegrown solution? Can’t wait to see what you come up with for the new engine. I’m guessing it’ll be a Ruby/Rails solution? Open Source? Anyway, best of luck.
