Another low fire soda fired yunomi. This one is a great example of why I sometimes need to give my work time to grow on me. All of these textured cups with terra sig came out leaving me underwhelmed. I was taking a technique I found mostly successful at cone ten and struggling to see it as being effective at cone 3. I have started to really enjoy some of the subtleties in the flashing the sig provides as I’ve let it sit in my studio and I have taken the time to study it more. Still not there but definitely not something I’m leaving behind.

I made these five soda fired pinched cups right at the beginning of the pandemic. I was forced to change the way I made work because I had not yet set up my home studio. I really like this newer body of hand built work that I’ve been making in the last few months and I’m excited to have them heading out to shows and to peoples homes.
