I’ve known him since 7th grade, we fight like brother & sisters & we also love each other just the same. 
He may be one of the funniest guys I know.

Ashley is one hot momma!

Her beautiful baby girl is due February 13th…just in time for Valentines day!

I’m so excited for her & her hubby Dwayne & I can’t wait to meet their newest addition!!

I think these might be my favorite photos I’ve taken to date. 

These weren’t for anything specific, just something me & Brittany have been wanting to do for a long time now.

I promise Brittany smiled throughout the day, but you won’t see much of it below. I was in a serious-face-close-your-eyes mood.  

I probably looked a fool while I was downloading the scans & came across the image on the left. I can’t even begin to explain how much I love it. I think I squealed from excitement,even.

Brittany has the most amazing shoe collection I’ve ever seen. I really want to steal these gold heels.

I think I squealed again when I saw the image on the left below. One of my favorites from the day. 

Image on the right is another favorite….it’s definitely different from what I usually shoot & I’m glad. I love the way it turned out.

I love fun families. LOVE them. This family was definitely fun to be around! (they also have a really awesome Christmas tradition, but we’ll get to that later!)
This was my last session of 2011 & the last digital one, as well!

I don’t typically shoot indoors or stay at one spot, but under certain circumstances I will. I shot at Karens mothers house, and  I won’t lie, I was quite nervous since I’m usually on location around town around familiar surroundings. It was a challenge for me to shoot at someones house & with 10 people! But I had such a great time & loved being around this family. I immediately felt at ease once I walked through their doors!

Karen, I’m so glad you asked me to take your families pictures! You guys are awesome & have a beautiful family! Thanks for letting me into y’alls home!  <3

So the picture below is the family tradition on Christmas. All you need to know is, “I’m a New Yorker!”
It’s super fun & I’m honestly quite jealous my family doesn’t do something so fun on Christmas!

Engagement sessions are probably my favorite to shoot. EVER. I love couples & I love capturing the love between them. 

It doesn’t take much time being around these two to know they are absolutely perfect for each other.

The image on the left reminds me of a mob photo. If the background wasn’t so bright & there were a few guns & cigars added, y’all would be set.

I couldn’t be more excited for the new year! I have so many big, great plans for this year & I can’t wait to put them into motion! I start a 21 day sugar detox today….health is one of the biggest issues I’m working on this year. I figured I might as well start with weening myself off sugar, seems only right. Right? I’m trying to tell myself I won’t have too much trouble doing it. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Better yet, join me! CrossFit & the paleo way of eating are going to be huge in my life this year.

Regarding my photography, I have some super exciting news I’ve been mulling over lately! If you’ve read my last couple of posts on my Facebook page or even on my  blog, you’ll know I’ve fallen in love with film. Especially after attending Film Is Not Dead in Maui, Hawaii!
So, because of this, I’ve decided to make the switch. Why not do what you love,right? So starting today, January 2nd, Lexi Petree Photography is 100% film. That’s right, FILM ONLY from here on out.
I’m extremely excited about this, and hope you guys are as well! Film just has a nice, natural look about it that I love that digital will never be able to recreate. Not fully, anyways.
I’m ready to get back to what photography is all about to me, focusing solely on the emotions going on in front of my lens.

So, to celebrate the exciting new change all sessions will be 20% off from now until January 31st!
This doesn’t mean the session has to be scheduled by the end of the month to receive 20% off, just booked by January 31st. 

Now, a blog post wouldn’t be near as fun without some pictures to accompany it, so here’s some quick,fun photos I did of my awesome cousin Kat in the front yard while she was down for New Years. She has such a fun,funky sense of style & I love it! Wish I dressed that fun at her age!

2011 has been a great year! And for some reason, it feels like 2011 has FLOWN by for me.

But, I won’t complain too much. I can’t wait for the new year &  can’t wait for the exciting, awesome changes coming to Lexi Petree Photography. (Which I will announce next Monday,by the way!! )

But until then, let’s end 2011 with some of the photos from the past year! From couples, to families, to two amazing workshops, to portraits of amazing people…..

What’s even better is that they were high school sweethearts!! They stayed in touch after high school & fate worked it’s magic & now they’re together once again & engaged!
I’m so glad I was able to spend an evening with them. :)

I’m making it a point to start sharing more personal posts on my blog. Not just my latest sessions I’ve done, but sharing things about myself & my life as well. This will be the start of many to come in the future & what better way to start then by introducing you to my amazing dad.

I took these photos for a final project in my photography class at Tech. I’m convinced that’s the only reason he let me take his photo, otherwise I would’ve been out of luck! But I’m so very thankful because I LOVE these! There are a lot of random pictures of things hanging in his shop ,but I like that. Those are the things that remind me him.

I took color & bw film with me that day, but I fell in love with the black & white. It just fits my dad….I think you’ll understand why once you see ‘em.
