Anyway, next up on the blog is the ridiculously fun Kristie and Conor! We met up on a beautiful evening last week and got to run around the commons and Beacon Hill (one of my favorite areas to stroll around in). The light was absolutely PERFECT on this particular evening and Kristie and Conor were not exactly difficult to photograph. Let’s just say that the camera kind of likes them. :) Their wedding is just a few weeks away and I cannot wait to get these two in front of the camera again. Enough of my talking…here’s a few to tie you over until their wedding!

Cara and Dan are the type of couple that makes you feel like you’ve known them forever as soon as you meet them. Fun, full of life, and not afraid to be who they are…my favorite type!!! They both have this incredibly classic look too, which I loved photographing. But what was funny was their classic look was accented by their fun and quirky personalities. I just love a mix like that! Anyway, I’ll get right to the photos because this blog is going to be blowing up with images really soon so I want you to be able to enjoy all the awesomeness from their session! :)

Lindsey is the head photographer of Lindsey Rae Photography and she is relaunching her website and blog in less than a week with a whole new branding and look. So, to keep with that theme we thought it was due time that she updated her bio pics and so we did a quick headshot shoot earlier in the week incorporating her love of all things vintage (see, reason #5032 why we’re friends) and her amazing vintage camera collection. I kind of love these and I believe I succeeded in getting a few shots of her that even she likes. That, my friends, is an enormous feat in itself!

Lindsey, you are talented, beautiful, honest, caring, fun, and have been an enormously instrumental part of my life (and especially this past year). I could never thank you enough for all of your encouraging words, your constant support, your ability to make me laugh through anything, your brutal honesty, and let’s not forget all the late night texts, Sunday-funday cookie baking, the impromptu Monday night dinners, and yummiest Guinness cupcakes on the planet. I hope when you look at these photos you see what I see…and I cannot flippin’ wait for the new website!

Soooooo I had to update my bio section with a new dislike. This was hard. I had to think about something that I wanted to like but hadn’t been able to (and this pretty much ruled out all foods—because aside from my slight dislike of beans and specifically that nasty french dish cassoulet, I don’t HATE beans). I thought about discussing my hatred for ketchup on top of meatloaf, I mean who does that?!?! And there is the equally gross hot dog stew, or tuna fish casserole topped with crushed potato chips (but only my best friend in the world would understand that reference). Sourcraut is yucky too, but I’ve never even wanted to like that. But alas, I would eat all of those things (and have before), truly, my relationship with food is unhealthy.

I thought long and hard about all of the things I don’t like and finally realized that I hate skiing. This is weird. I have skied my entire life, since I was 6 years old or something. And finally, a few years ago, I realized that I have hated skiing for pretty much the whole time I have skied but had always gone because I felt like I was supposed to ski and I was supposed to like it. It’s not the cold or the snow that I don’t like, I like lots of winter sports and activities—ice skating, making snow angels, snowball fights, sledding (especially sledding), snowmobiling (okay snowmobiling maybe isn’t categorized as a “sport” because you ride on a motorized sled, but it’s still an outdoor activity)—but I hate skiing. So there. I said it. I’m a BAD New Englander but at least I admit it. And now it’s out on my blog for all the world to see. Sorry to all of my skiing friends, but I am still happy to partake in ski weekends in the winter and I swear I will make a really mean hot chocolate for you. :)

In the meantime, I was able to photograph the lovely and fun Elenie & George last week in the public gardens (shhhh, don’t tell anyone we were there without a permit) and it was a perfect evening for a shoot! Maybe slightly brisk (as most spring shoots should be) but the trees were flowering and these two were laughing and it made me so excited to start my shooting season again. Aaaahhh, it’s been a nice break but this photog is officially back on for the season—wahoo! Anyway, let me share with you a few favorites. :)

Elenie & George, I just loved getting to know you two better and I cannot wait to photograph your wedding in just a few short weeks! I hope you like the sneak peek. :)

Guinness, I love you so so much…even though you’re stinky and roll in the dirt all the time so that when I pat your back dust billows off of you, I love you even though your mouth smells like something crawled inside it and died (even after I brush your teeth)…I love you even though you have to be in constant contact with me (like when I allow you on the couch and you make sure that at least a paw is touching me even though there’s plenty of room on the other side of the couch), I love you even though you have to lay outside the shower door in the morning so that every time I open it I bump into you and you jump up and then lay down again on the mat so I have to stand on the cold tile floor, I love you even though you can find a pool of water anywhere to swim in (especially if it’s a stagnant swamp), I love you even though you curl up on anything I put on the floor (like my slippers or dirty socks…eeewww), I love you even though you have to lick the bottom of the water bowl ensuring that your entire snout is in the bowl so that water splashes everywhere and drips from your mouth for 2 minutes afterward covering every clean surface of my floors with water and drool, I love you even though you find a way to crawl onto the couch when I leave (after I put the cushions up specifically to deter you from sitting on my light colored couch) thereby weaving your wirey brown hairs everywhere into the couch fabric, I love you even though you wake me up every single morning with light and breathy (but incessant) barking waiting until I invite you up on the bed, I love you even though you’re broken and I’m going to eventually have to pay lots of money to fix your cruciate ligament, I love you even though you get so distracted (by squirrels, birds, people, leaves, pieces of trash) while running with me that you keep throwing off my jogging rhythm and then I yell at you, I love you even though you’re so obsessed with tennis balls that you can’t think about anything else when one is in your vicinity, I love you even though (just like a child) you start doing something bad as soon as I get on the telephone and can’t yell at you, I love you even though you huff at me when I tell you to lay down and wait, and I love you especially when you stretch out like a bunny with your hind legs behind you and crawl your front feet toward me.

I love you, plain and simple, you stinky pain in the rear-end!

So, in other way more interesting news. Jill is going to be having a baby girl in just a couple of weeks! Yay! We met up on the first day of Spring last week—it was 80 degrees…on the first day of Spring…in March. And we got a few really awesome pics that I am so excited to share with you! But before I do that I have to say a special congratulations to Jilly-bean. Jill and I have known each other since grade school and became good friends in junior high school (you know, they call that middle school now) and we lived right down the street from each other growing up. We lost touch by the end of high school and ended up going in different directions, but it is so awesome to me that because of this little photo business I have (and the help of Facebook) she found me again and asked me to photograph her belly portraits. Jill, I was honored to be the one to photograph you, to share in this awesome moment just before your baby girl is born, and to celebrate with you and catch up on years of being apart. I wish you the very best of luck and cannot wait to meet little miss Eliza when she comes!

Jill, I hope you love these…you are absolutely glowing girl and I honestly could not be happier for you! Thank you for inviting me to photograph you and for being such a good sport about climbing hills with me and hiking by the pond. :)

And so when I say my clients are amazing and you think I am writing it just to make you feel good…I’m not. You guys blow those other clients of other photographers out of the water. Not because you are my clients and I’m your photographer, but because you are real people with real life stories and you’ve allowed me to be your storyteller. That, by my measurement, is a really awesome gift. I appreciate it and it does not go unnoticed…I just wanted you to know:)

I am so so so excited to see what 2012 brings! I am fully booked for this wedding season (insert blushing here) and I love all of the couples that have booked with me:) Each year offers something new—a new approach or a new challenge or a new outlook on things—and I’m thrilled to see where this season brings us.
