Episode 68 - Hillsborough special.

It's the first episode of the new season, and when you hear it we hope you'll understand why it's taken so long to get this little baby out. Hillsborough is too big a subject to address in a single take, so we've gone to town on this. It's the longest ever MP Red, clocking in at 3 hours, but we think it's worth it.

First of all, we've got the news, and Simon looking back at the opening few games of the season. Simon will also give us his personal take on Hillsborough and the recent events.

Our normal Kick in the grass finds Steve Clare in conversation with Conor Brennan, talking about the downfall of Rangers. Proof that no football club is too big to fail. There, but for the grace of FSG, go Liverpool.

Sinbad will be taking us on his travels once more, this time headed to Rome in 2001, and taking in the scenic route as ever.

Then it's over to Conor Brennan, reviewing the release of the Hillsborough panel's findings. This is an in depth look at one of the most important day's in football history, and Conor has, to use a word much bandied about, done it justice.

We have exclusive interviews with Liverpool football club, barrister Max Eppel, Steve Kelly from the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, Margaret Aspinall from the Hillsborough Family Support Group, Steve Rotherham MP and Times' football editor Tony Evans.

It's a VERY special episode. We hope you enjoy it.

MPRed - JFT96. Please.

MP Red - Episode 67. Our summer special, finds MP Red focussed on two major events - the appointment of Brendan Rogers, and a look back on Euro 2012. It also looks at lots of minor events, but you probably expected that

No matches to review in the news this time around, so Ali makes his debut in the hotseat in a review of Brendan Rogers' appointment as Liverpool boss. What does it mean for him, as well as the players.

The panel discussion takes a look back at Euro 2012. Who did we like, who did we love, and should the Irish stick to Eurovision?

Sinbad takes a look back at his time in Istanbul. It seems like every scouser who was there in 2005 has a story to tell, and Sinbad's is one of the best.

A Kick In The Grass sees a welcome return for Michael Henderson, in conversation with Conor Brennan about the current Spain team. Where do they stand in the pantheon of greats. Better than Holland '74? Brazil '70? England '92?

Another kick returnee sees Clive Toye, former manager of NY Cosmos, talking about his new children's book. It also sees an anecdote about Henry Kissinger, which may well be an MP Red first.

Our feedback section is the usual mixed mailbag. You giving feedback to us on Liverpool, football in general, or whatever's on your mind. That's why it's call the feedback section.

It's s the route MP Red where gets its kicks. 66.

In a shorter than usual news Simon cannot avert his eyes from an awful end to the season with a Suarez hattrick at Norwich being the only bright spot. An insightful look at the why nots of the Cup Final. Overall a restrained analysis from our expert if you can believe it.

The Panel sees Dev leading the line with a discussion of what else? The demise of the King. Sympathy, filtered through reality and genuine sadness here. Whas it right that he went? Was the job too much for him? Why did he go? Politics played a role? Perhaps, but so did results. And what about the impact of the Suarez affair? Any conspiracies or was it all Liverpool here?

The Tales Of Sinbad take us to Bulgaria with tales of packs of wild dogs, free vodka, snowboarding and an attack by Zorro? It's all here.

Dev interviews members of the Hillsborough-Anfield Run for a wrap up of their 3 days running across Yorkshire and Lancashire over 3 days. Just a quick 79 mile jog. A dolphin and 'Ring Of Fire' come into the conversation.

Conor Brennan interviews Sachin Nakrani about the plight of Roy Hodgson now that he's England manager. Recorded before the sacking of Dalglish, Conor and Sachin look at the job before Hodgson and what's likely to happen to England at Euro 2012.

And as ever, as usual, we finish with your feedback. Where it's a lot of Dalglish and who to replace him. To whom would the panel give the boot? Carragher is Hyypia? Well, Conor Murphy thinks so and he's not hugely wrong. This time. And who likes the new kit? A yes, no and maybe. And serious doubts being expressed about the financial structure of FSG and Liverpool, but it's all understandable. Maybe. And who's worried about whisky?

MP Red, there's no known anitdote. It's that good!

Pensionable age for MP Red, as we hit episode 65.

In the news, Simon is dissecting recent events at Anfield. Terribly league form, and an unconvincing cup win, leave little to smile about, but we'll do our best to work out where things have gone wrong. Words like 'character' and 'leadership' keep cropping up

We've got the second part of our Bruce Grobbelaar interview, as the Liverpool legend continues his entertaining amble through an eventful career.

Our dear friend Scouse Paul is no longer with us, but Sinbad will do his best to fill those sizeable shoes.

The latest Kick In The Grass takes the form of a discussion this time around. Conor Brennan in conversation with journalist Dion Fanning, talking us through a tale of 3 managers. A less than holy trinity of Benitez, Hodgson and Dalglish

Our feedback section features Simon giving some feisty response to criticism, as well as professing an unlikely passion for Motorhead.

MP Red. Never walking alone, no matter what happens against Wigan

MP Red - Episode 64. Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar joins the MP Red team, to cast his eye over the current Liverpool team as well as casting his mind back to a storied career

Episode 64 is one of those special occasions where a former Liverpool player joins us in New York - this time it's the most decorated goalkeeper in English football history....Bruce Grobbelaar.

Dev Saksena is playing analyst this time around, and Bruce joins in to discuss Liverpool's good fortune in the cup this season, as well as goalkeepers, transfer windows, and that fella Kenny Dalglish.

No panel discussion this episode, as we give Bruce an in depth interview on his career. It's a long and winding road that took a kid from Zimbabwe to the very pinnacle of the world's game, and there were a few bumps in the road for Bruce. He also does a fantastic Bob Paisley impersonation, which sadly we didn't capture on film. This is only part 1 - part 2 is still to come.

Our Kick In The Grass finds Conor Brennan and Evan Fanning in discussion about Moneyball. What is it, are Liverpool using it, and can it work in football?

We are joined on the phone by Dominic Williams, who gives 96 very good reasons why a bunch of Scousers are running from Sheffield to Liverpool. We encourage all of our listeners to dig deep.

Our feedback section features more tributes to Scouse Paul, an email from a Manchester United fan, and John Of Rochdale emerges from Sherwood Forest to put the team on the spot.

MP Red - back from our 8 match ban, and raring to go

MP Red - Episode 63. A tribute to a great scouser, and an in-depth analysis of the Suarez case.

The first in what will be a flurry of new episodes begins in somber mood. This episode is overshadowed by the tragic death of Paul Rice, AKA Scouse Paul. A member of the MP Red family, and a friend of Liverpool fans worldwide, he will never be forgotten

However, we will also look back on the festive fixtures, and examine some mixed fortunes for Liverpool Football Club. Simon is in the hotseat. As you'd expect, he doesn't hold back in his opinions on Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard and Andy Carroll. But if he did hold back, he wouldn't be Simon, would he?

We have a very personal tribute to Scouse Paul from Conor Brennan, and have the chance to hear Paul's stories one more time.

Our panel discussion turns it's attention to the Luis Suarez affair, and it's un-missable stuff. The panel try to get beyond the tabloid hyperbole, and try to understand why Liverpool's most potent attacking force has missed a crucial part of the season. Racism? Conspiracy? Politics?

The latest Kick In The Grass is provided by Sachin Nakrani, giving his considered opinion on Steven Gerrard. Club legend, who belongs with the greats?

Our feedback section will include some more thoughts on Scouse Paul, as well as musings on goalkeepers, goalscorers and goal-missers. If you're a big man, does it take you longer to grow?

MP Red - Episode 62. As the festive season hoves into view, there is a touch of Charles Dickens about the latest episode of MP Red - the (g)hosts of podcasts past, present and future are all on display. We also have an in depth interview with Brian Reade, a must-listen for an Liverpool fan

We start with the News, where Dev Saksena tackles Simon about Liverpool's recent form. Missed chances, bad refereeing, and the inimitable Luis Suarez all make an appearance. Is this turning into a season of what-might-have-been?

No panel discussion this week, but we have Conor Brennan in conversation with Brian Reade - renowned journalist, author and lifelong Liverpool fan. Brian is discussing his new book - An Epic Swindle. It's an in-depth discussion about how Liverpool were almost brought to destruction by the dark forces of captitalism.

A Kick In The Grass comes from the frozen north comes from as Nathan Smith and Harry Indridason wrestle with some Icelandic pronunciation as well as the thorny issue of influencing referees

And finally, like a classic pass-and-move break downfield, we return to the man who started things off. Dev Saksena is back with Simon, Producer Conor and a whole bag of feedback.

MP Red. Occupying the Anfield Road End before they even got close to Wall Street

MP Red - Episode 61. New season. New MP Red. New host, as Dev Saksena makes his debut in the hot seat

Joining Dev in the studio is the inimitable Simon Davis, running the rule over the end of the transfer window, and the start of the season

Back on the phones, we have a welcome return for the legendary Scouse Paul. Not talking about his travels, this time, but giving us an update on exactly what SOS are doing now that Hicks and Gillett have been run out of town.

The panel discussion seems very appropriate for an international podcast - just what is the nature of Liverpool's overseas fanbase?

The latest Kick In The Grass is helmed by producer Conor, who interrogates Steve Clare about all things Arsenal. As this stage of the season, they seem to be Liverpool's main challenger for a Champions League spot, but while Liverpool appear to be on the way up, are Arsenal on the way down?

Our feedback is as wide ranging as ever, and you also get a second slice of Producer Conor, you lucky people.

MP Red - E'pisode 60. It's taken a while, but MP Red are back.

It's been a long summer behind us, and it's going to be a long summer ahead. Simon will be doing his Simon thing, dissecting Liverpool's new signings, and it pretty pleased with what the club have been doing. We're reunited with old flame Conor Brennan on a Kick In The Grass. Always good to hear his Irish brogue, even when he's heretically wondering whether Kenny Dalglish isn't the second coming.

The panel discussion is also soothsaying on the 2012 season. Shots in the dark are our speciality, and at least one of them is going to hit the mark. Isn't it?

A crowded feedback sees Conor Murphy getting a few things off his chest, as is his wont. It also sees the arrival of a new member into the MP Red family. Flowers and gifts to the usual address.

MP Red - Episode 59. European football is what makes Liverpool tick. Famous European nights at Anfield have become a cliché, but that's because there have been so many of them. Despite a season of chaos and flirtation with the bottom 3, it looks like European football may be back on the agenda for next year. Who saw that coming?

In the news, we will take a look at recent performances and predict some of the summer activities. People have been calling Liverpool a 2 man team for a long team, but are those 2 men now Lucas Leiva and Wee Jay Spearing?

Our panel are taking a look at the kids. After a fallow period, Liverpool's academy might just be bearing some fruit. But why do so few make the grade, at Anfield and elsewhere?

Jay Mwamba is back on A Kick In The Grass, looking back at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Vuvuzelas apart, maybe it wasn't as bad as many predicted.

You might need Google after listening to the feedback section. Unless you're familiar with Sir Roger Casement and Jimmy Tarbuck, in which case you'll be fine.

MP Red. Sticking it to the man since 2006

Spring is in the air at MP Red. It's a time of rejuvenation and optimism and a warm fuzzy feeling has enveloped the studio.

Simon is playing the role of Simon to perfection. We take a look at Liverpool's memorable victories over Manchester United and Chelsea, as well as the more disappointing performances that the team have been producing.

Our panel discussion will take a look at the subject everyone talks about, but nobody wants to. Referees. Should their decisions be held up to scrutiny by a higher power. If not, why not? And what does it say about the sport, when you can consider that falling over in the box is more pernicious than an elbow to the head.

The latest Kick In The Grass has an international flavour to it. We dial up Harry Indridason in Iceland to ask whether a Qatari challenger needs to beat a Swiss incumbent for the good of the world's game.

We round things off with a selection of your feedback. If you're Fernando Torres, you might want to stop listening now, but Liverpool fans should enjoy it. As should fans of Norwegian rock music. If you're either of these, this is the podcast for you.

MP Red. Yes, we ARE going out dressed like this

It's not easy to squeeze everything which has happened at Anfield into a single podcast, but god damn it we're going to try. First of all, Simon rejoices in the Kenny Dalglish effect as we review the start of his second coming.

Steve Clare makes his debut on A Kick In The Grass, giving an insight into the world of MLS transfers, and why the future probably won't be Beckham-shaped

Our Panel discussion will deal with Fernando Torres, Andy Carroll, Luis Suarez and huge amounts of money. Liverpool have lost one of the best strikers in the world, but nobody's too unhappy about it....

MP Red - what's wrong with being sexy?

It's about time for another episode of MP Red, don't you think? As ever, the Liverpool soap opera rumbles on, and we will do our best to work out what's going on.

Focussing on the pitch, Simon will analyse the opening games of the season, and give his considered critique of Roy Hodgson's reds. How did a team with European pretensions flirt with a relegation battle, and how do they get out of it?

Evan Fanning gives a firm Kick In The Grass, talking about the grass roots fan protests. Are they really important? Or are they impotent?

The panel is as meaty as a tin of spam. Recorded on the first day of the High Court battle to control Liverpool, we'll look at the events which led to NESV's ultimatley successful battle for control, and also take a gratuitous parting shot at Statler and Waldorf. A plague on both their houses.

Finally, we'll answer your questions. Betting scandals, Ricky Tomlinson's gob, and is Kenny a messiah? Just another day in the office...

MP Red. Let's hug it out, ladies

Episode 55 – MP Red is back for the new season, with a bumper podcast of considered reflection, wild speculation and inaccurate predictions.

Simon is in the Analysts Chair, talking about Rafa, Roy and a few more of his pet subjects. The panel look ahead to the new season. We tried to find some optimism after a summer of upheaval and pessimism, but find reasons to be cheerful pretty thin on the ground. Cautiously optimistic will have to do. Conor Brennan dials in from London, and tries to work out were Rafa sits in the Liverpool managerial hall of fame. As usual, we listen to your feedback, and try to work out with Fernando Torres' poor World Cup might be a good thing for Liverpool.

MP Red - we've missed us, and hopefully you've missed us as well.

Episode 54 - It's a different host, but a familiar sounding podcast. Simon talks about what's gone wrong, the panel discuss about what could go wrong, and Conor Brennan explains why UEFA can't stop things going wrong.

It's the start of a new era for MPRed, as Nathan Smith takes the controls, although some things never change. In the news, Simon offers his forthright opinion on Steven Gerrard, Albert Riera and...Bruce Forsyth.

The panel hotfoot it from the Manchester United game into the studio to discuss 4th place, and it's importance in the modern game. What might happen to Liverpool if they miss out on the Champion's League, and has Harry Redknapp really been stealing from Spurs?

Conor Brennan's familiar brogue crackles over the airwaves from London, as he explains why Michel Platini's plans are as misguided as Jamie Carragher taking aim from 30 yards. Finally, we listen to your feedback, discuss Kenny Dalglish's place in the pantheon of modern greats, and wonder how to get from Utah to Singapore.

MPRed - it's free, it's less than 90 minutes, and it's finally got over the Thierry Henry handball.

Episode 53 – Match fixing, betting syndicates, sponsorship deals – how corrupt is English football? Dion Fanning is severely unimpressed with John Terry's exit as England captain.

We start with a permanent personnel change which will change MP Red.

And then onto Liverpool's season in miniature and writ large. Simon being rather unimpressed with more than a few team performances and player performances. Some usual suspects but there are kudos also. Want to hear a funny story about the Anfield scoreboard? Simon was on the Kop. Simon with a withering view of Christian Purslow's meeting with the SOS.

The Panel examines the hows and whys and perhaps even the ifs of corruption of in the game in England. They get really ripped into the unsavory side of the game with referring appointments, betting syndicates taking advantage of weak willed administrators and a few rants or two. And we love our rants around here. And Conor enjoys his closings, so don't get in his way. But things were getting a bit ripe in the booth. How come?

Dion Fanning with an serious critique of the hypocrisy of English press and the weakness of Fabio Capello as they pertain to the John Terry affair. Hypocrisy to the nth and a Phillip Roth reference.

Scouse Paul takes us back to Liverpool's first FA Cup final of the 70s and Matt Busby.

The Feedback section goes on with some marvellous footballing insights and memories. Actually, maybe not. What to think about a stroppy Gerrard? And the move for Benitez' job. Real or imagined? Or just special? Just wait til you hear what the Brainstrust thinks. Oh, and we spend a lot of time telling everyone how great we are.

MP Red – a service to mankind greater than beer. Oops! Was that our outside voice?

<itunes:subtitle> Episode 53 – Match fixing, betting syndicates, sponsorship deals – how corrupt is English football? Dion Fanning is severely unimpressed with John Terry's exit as England captain.</itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:summary> We start with a permanent personnel change which will change MP Red.

Jan sits down with Conor and Simon and looks back at his playing career and also discusses the present side and gives us his take on Rafael Benitez. He starts with his memories of his early days at Ajax, how he nearly missed signing for Liverpool. How he got on with Joe Fagan, Bob Paisley and Kenny Dalglish. Memories of the 1986 season, double winners. What about the 1986 FA Cup Final? Jan with his take on what happened at Heysel and its aftermath. He has a lot to say about Graeme Souness and he was not always impressed, far from it. Players signed by Souness who were not good enough to play for Liverpool? Listen to the list. Touching and tearful memories of Hillsborough and the aftermath and how it cemented his love of Liverpool the city. A top notch interview with one of Liverpool's greatest servants.

MP Red – if it was any better, we'd be getting paid for it!

The rest of the interview with Jan Molby. He's not available for Believe It, Believe It Not or Believe it Maybe where Simon and Conor discuss frozen iguanas and possible drunken emails from Dallas at 4AM. But Simon has a theory that those emails might not have been the result of beer but of something else. And they also manage to discuss Liverpool's games. Guess who Simon thinks should be sold? It's not whom you might think. Definitely not. The end of Babel? Rodriguez in?

The Jan Molby interview continues with some really interesting stories and insights. He has a lot to say about Graeme Souness and he wasn't always impressed, far from it. Players signed who were not good enough to play for Liverpool? Listen to the list. Touching and tearful memories of Hillsborough and the aftermath and how it cemented his love of Liverpool the city. And he finishes with his take on Rafael Benitez.

Dion Fanning joins us for A Kick In The Grass with some behind the scenes tales from Paris and Dublin. What was the point of Ireland being the 33rd team? Not what you'd think. And does anyone love Blatter?

Scouse Paul takes us on a trip to Manchester in the early 70s with kind stories of the natives. Maybe. And even the opposition.

The feedback finds Simon upset that his ego has yet to be stroked. But no one's making any offers in the booth. Discussion of a huge inbox concerning Part I of the Molby interview. And the gutter press. And a Shakespeare and Faulkner, for the season that's in it. Will the guys have to dress up and wear make-up? Perish the thought. And what happens when you clog spark on the pavement?

MP Red – it's on the approved list to save your soul and to better this world.

What to do and what to say? We have Simon's take on the games played since the last episode with some insightful and provocative reasons for the collapse? Benitez? Yes, but not as much as you'd think. A midfielder or two and a defender. A careful analysis of the win over United. And what aboout new transfers? The Panel tries to explain why Liverpool have hit the downward trajectory and a few names are named and Simon takes no prisoners. Carragher? But again not for the reasons you'd think. A good discussion that does go a long way to explaining the failing of Liverpool and no-one is spared. Michael Henderson comes on to discuss his book, 50 People Who Fouled Up Football. An interesting selection and he's made justify why a great Liverpool manager made his list and a dour Scot didn't. Scouse Paul finishes up his travel in the USA with tales of too much beer (never!) and his daughter being his chaperone. Feedback is very good, with beachballs, Voronin, Blue Square League and a theory about gambling influencing injury time goals which unfortunately makes sense.

MP Red – this one goes on way to long. A medal for everyone who hears it out to the very end, dulcet tones and all.

Simon returns and he's in rare form with a rant or three. How to explain beating Hull 6-1 and losing 2-0 to Fiorentina? And little mercy for George Gillett who is accused of being more than economical with the truth. Are Voronin and Ngog up to be the shadow strikers? The Panel discusses referees and how they get stuff wrong so often? Do the rules need to be changed? What about all that extra time at Old Trafford? An interesting take on the culture surrounding referees and why all is not as it seems with them. And what's this about paving Abramovich's driveway? Dion Fanning casts a rather cold eye on Giovanni Trapattoni's management of the Republic of Ireland side in light of his treatment of Andy Reid? And what happens when Gazzetta della Sport meets Andy Reid's head? Scouse Paul visited the USA in 2004, you know. The beer flowed, the heads hurt and there was a large contingent of Scousers. A finish with a competition for a Paul Tompkins book and the feedback where the plight of Torres and Carragher are considered. No draws? Are they worse than losses? And another Simon rant. We think.

MP Red – if you enjoy listening half as much as we do talking, that'll be a fair deal.

Studio access has kept us away for the opening of this season, but we 're trying. Simon has taken himself off to DC so Justin sits in to look at the opening six games of the season which already has some highs and lows. What were the Spurs and Villa games about? Be thankful for Stoke and Burnley. Standard Chartered to the rescue? Justin thinks so, but there are a few loose ends. The Panel looks at the opening to the season for everyone, but what is it you can tell from six games in the middle of September that will make you believe you know how it 'll be in May? And who 's that panelist? A return, albeit brief, of an old friend. Michael Henderson comes along with stories of his youth and his team that are not his team anymore. Conspicuous consumption and all that. And a longing for a return to muddy pitches and all games on a Saturday. The feedback is without Conor Murphy, but for a most acceptable reason and there are a few Grahams who are annoyed or pleased with us. We 're never quite sure. And we finish with a look back and explanation of all things Steven Cohen. And with that the campaign is put to bed.

MP Red, it 's too inconsistent to annoy you, but you should listen anyway.

Episode 47 sees the gang in crystal ball mode trying to divine what will happen between now and next May. Simon gone to Maine so Justin sits in and in keeping with the vacation motif, Scouse Paul has gone on his travels in search of more material. A pre-season which doesn't settle too many nerves and asks a few questions, an examination of the loss of Alonso and the gain of Aquilani and Justin gets his teeth into serious analytical mode explaining what it is that Liverpool just might need. Michael Henderson joins for an idiosyncratic look at the season where he threatened to talk about Portsmouth, but didn't and expounded at length about Manchester City. And who's the greatest badge kisser of all? Michael knows. The Panel gets stuck into pre-season mode – about time this season began, no? Who will drop out of the top 4 and why? Who will replace them? Who will be relegated? Will there be another English triumvirate in the Champions' League semis? And will Liverpool win number 20? Oh, the expectation! We finish with the feedback which is not plentiful due to our long sojourn but we did cover New Zealand and Ullapool, and a discussion on the Steven Cohen Boycott campaign. At long last time to go, no, Mr. Cohen?

We're back after an absence of almost 5 months. Waaaay to long. An explanation of where we were. Simon is back in the analyst's chair and he has lost none of his sharpeness. A quick review of the end of the season and a look at the signing of Glen Johnson. And a young French kid, Mavinga. Simon with a clever analysis of the unsettling of Mascherano and Alonso. And a follow up in the Panel with a look at clubs, agents and players who do transfer business via the media. What to do about agents who leak to the press to engineer a move for their clients and 15% for them? Should Real Madrdi have to pay any fine for their two year courtship and unsettling of Ronaldo? How much are journalists to blame? Or is it the 24 hours news cycle and round the clock TV coverage? A withering assessment of the Ronaldo to Real move and slightly less so about some of the listeners and participants. Dion Fanning is very impressed with Benitez' outburst against Ferguson in Melwood last January and believes it's the underpinning of the Michael Owen to United move. And a bit of Seinfeld thrown in for good measure. All the cultural touchstones here! Scouse Paul treats us to a second trip to Madrid in one season. Never been there before, now twice in a season. When you're away for 5 months, the feedback goes a little stale and diminishes to zero. So an update on the LFCNY boycott of Steven Cohen and his lies and hate against the 96 dead and Liverpool fans in general.

MP Red – the world survived without us and that's probably not fair.

<itunes:summary> We're back after an absence of almost 5 months.
A look at too many draws against a team that wears blue. Simon sits this one out so Justin, our intrepid quasi-anorak comes into the booth to run the rule over a few games. Robbie Keane? Well, half of MP Red was recorded when he was a Liverpool player and the other half when he was a Spurs player. So we're really happy about that because we sound as if we have less of a clue than usual. Groundhog Day for all these 1-1 draws and then 2-0 Chelsea and all is right with the Liverpool ship again. Until the next game. In lieu of the Panel discussion, we have an interview with former Liverpool captain, Jimmy Melia. Stories about Shankly, Liddle, Cally, Roger and all the boys. And a league title in '64 after 17 years. Michael Henderson is variously amused and not impressed by the antics of Benitez. He doesn't deny the legitimacy of Liverpool's title aspirations, but…….Scouse Paul comes to us in somber mood with a remembrance of a Liverpudlian who did so much to expedite his travels. And the feedback. The feedback recorded before Keane was transferred. See how good these guys were with their predictions and prognostications. And there's no cricket.

MP Red – between the predictions and prognostications, we know everything.

A very busy and interesting Christmas period for nearly every team. Some more than others and a lot of off-field activity to boot. Simon, after a very celebratory Christmas returns to the analyst's chair and is much impressed with some of the goals Liverpool scored. Who's the only keeper that could manage with Torres and Gerrard, flying solo, bearing down on goal? An explanation as to why Carragher makes not a great right back. A return for a Liverpool old boy means the demise of Babel? Maybe. Simon well impressed with Bentiez' broadside and in impressed with is integrity. A good rant against Ferguson. The Panel considers what has happened over the Christmas and the Gerrard imbroglio in Southport is examined. Is Tevez disrupting Manchester United? Simon opens his account for the year with a (another) superb rant and this one is still in the United vein. A club which shouldn't be allowed exist, apparently. Jay Mwamba continues the Panel's examination of what has been happening at Chelsea in a piece that won't bring much comfort or joy to Chelsea fans. Scouse Paul takes us back to dreaded white Armani suits and a ritual exorcism performed in a pub if you can believe it. A thin in-box leads to yet another cricket discussion – someone should remind these guys they're doing a football podcast. A classy reply from the man who kicked off the whole Scouse Paul discussion and the guys pass a motion of censure.

MP Red – better than any NewYear's resolution and easier to maintain.

'Tis the time of the strange and the new. And just in time for Christmas. An analyst's chair with two occupants but not at the same time. Simon with an explanation of a type for what's happening with Robbie Keane and Danny Agger. What is Benitez up to? Respect for Hull, for whom else? A change of analyst's for the Panel discussion, but that's not the biggest change. A non-believer gets into the booth for the first time ever with some interesting things to say about Liverpool and Chelsea. Funny how United are not much liked. Gallas, a surprise? Yes, but not why you'd think. Surprise teams, surprise players, surprising analyst surprising guest. Yep, the Panel is a surprise, surprisingly enough. A new voice in A Kick In The Grass, all the way from Iceland. Harry Idridason examines why there are fewer Scandinavians, Icelanders specifically, in the Premier League and why this might actually be a good thing for those countries. Despite appearances, not all Scandinavians like each other. Scouse Paul with a tale of Bah! Humbug! For the season that's in it. Don't get too close to your heroes. And the feedback sees cricket being discussed. Of course it does, MP Red is only a football podcast after all. And Simon worried about public monuments and the molestation of God-fearing citizens. And wonders about traveling to Middlesbrough and doesn't remember White Hart Lane too fondly either. Medieval sieges also considered. And being Irish at football grounds in London. An interesting experience. An eyebrow raising comparison of Keane to another major striker and Keane comes off rather well. Scouse Paul even writes to us.

MP Red – not nearly as reviled as it would appear. And that's the real surprise!

Liverpool sitting atop the league and Simon sitting in his usual chair. A disappointing result or two, primarily at White Hart Lane, and Simon is put through his paces explaining. But he's not prone to the Messerschmitt Twitch. If you know what that is. Listen in to find out. Benitez excels with good man management by not making a substitution. The Panel discusses just what the impact of too many games can have on a player on a team. Are there too many competitions and does money rule the game too much? Any answer longer than 'yes' just might be the wrong. The Panel unimpressed with friendly internationals, but they can see the need for them also. Jay Mwamba is decidedly underwhelmed with Arsene Wenger and discusses the shock! horror! rumors that he might be on his way. An over reliance on what exactly? Scouse Paul takes us to QPR in the cup, well, not really; this time he's talking about doughnuts. Jam-filled doughnuts and herding cats. Who said his travels were all about beer and football? A lively Feedback section where praise and criticism of Scouse Paul pops up in equal measure. And also a few explanations about the trials and tribulations of producing a podcast. And that rare creature, a real live woolyback, writes with concerns and criticisms about some of the supporting cast at Anfield. But the panel are nice anyway.

MP Red – unaccustomed to mediocrity, preferring only excellence. The Liverpool way.

Slightly delayed due to technical difficulties episode 41 finds Justin sitting in Simon's seat for another episode where a 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge is dissected at length, especially the hard work of Kuyt and Riera. Justin with an interesting take on the position of Reina. Will he leave next summer? And what of Benitez' contract extension? The British Government as owners of Liverpool. Never! Emmmm……The Panel looks at some of the more ridiculous notions that Liverpool nearly have the championship wrapped up. In October. Equally, there is a confidence there and perhaps this team is made of sterner stuff than Liverpool teams of previous years? And which player is the missing part of the jigsaw? Justin plays Devil's Advocate as to why Liverpool will not win. Dion Fanning looks at Spurs, a team who always think they are bigger than they actually are. But at least they have a modicum of history. And a gastric manifestation of a spiritual problem? Wonderful. Are Spurs a selling club? Scouse Paul takes us to Madrid for Liverpool's recent Champion's League game with some rather unexpected results, though the beer level remains the same. And the Feedback sees Conor chastised for truncating and changing emails. And Owen and Heskey returning to Liverpool? Praise for Justin from Oregon and Niall the Chelsea fan is back with praise.

MP Red – you only realize how much you miss it when we are late!

A podcast for the early autumn and Simon retains his seat in the analyst's chair. A considered look at the recent Liverpool games and maybe the Stoke game was as bad a result as it initially appeared? Simon is very impressed with the performance against our oh-so-loveable neighbors but not for the reasons you might imagine. And what a game against Manchester City. Digging deep, a harbinger for the season? Justin joins us for the Panel looking enviously at Simon's seat. A Houllier/Evans compromise is proposed. The fortunes of Liverpool in 12 games so far this season are examined with an interesting rumor or two about Alonso. After such a great start, Liverpool are still only second. Work to do? Simon tells off a few for their hysteria and despondency. And Arsenal, he doesn't like them much either. Godfrey Deeny returns in A Kick In The Grass for an examination of why Italian club sides are doing so poorly recently in Europe (hint: mismanagement and money). Scouse Paul finishes Part II of his magical mystery beer football and other tour to Amsterdam. We're surprised he remembers so much, actually. And in the Feedback, Simon still doesn't like Arsenal or Wenger and there's almost a rant. A mistake to sell Riise? Someone is quickly disabused of this notion.

A return to the booth for Simon, so Justin sits this one out; a few games to look at and Simon turns the microscope on a few potential banana skins. And who is carrying puppyfat? Simon has noticed. And he's making a list. Respect for the Belgina champions but onwards and upwards into Europe. What to make of the defeat of Manchester United? Simon picks out a Man Of the Match. Guess who? That's before he turns his eye on new signing Riera and some qualified support for Hicks and Gillett? Michael Henderson with a gloomy piece about the take over of Manchester City. This will knock on through the game he fears. And not for the better. And Mourinho, a trend setter in a way for which he'd probably prefer not to be remembered. The Panel considers the plight of Spurs and Newcastle primarily while also looking at Liverpool's off field problems. And Liverpool so close to being either or both of these clubs. And the pefect cockney impersonation? Well, yes……And Scouse Paul takes us off to Amsterdam in 2003 for a trip that includes 1st Aid stations, beer, more beer, weed, wheelchairs and the European gay Pride parade. And that's only Part I. Part II in the next episode. The feedback sees Conor and Conor and Simon discuss Finnan and Agger. And someone wants to pay us for the podcast. Huh? And a discussion of Benitez's position at Liverpool to finish.

MP Red – if ever you think it can't surpass itself, you need another beer!

<itunes:subtitle> Episode 39 – What a start to the new season! And that's just off the field. Michael Henderson returns to scrutinize Manchester City and the English side in a strange start to the season.
</itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:summary> A return to the booth for Simon, so Justin sits this one out; a few games to look at and Simon turns the microscope on a few potential banana skins.

Justin maintains his position in the hot seat and there's a quick run through about 54 pre-season friendlies. And then a dour performance in Belgium. It's been a while so we haven't really discussed the Robbie Keane transfer. Justin and Conor like. Less impressed with the Barry fiasco, especially as Hicks and Gillett have made an appearance. And how the British Home Office has the boys looking ruefully at Riise. Lots of love for Xabi, but Barry might have to wait for his Christmas card. The Panel gets down to the nitty gritty of who will or won't do what during the season. Arsenal a dark horse and respect for the Chelsea and no-one's writing off Man United. Yet. Conor forces everyone to nail their colors to the mast, even Justin who tries to avoid some questions. Anyway picks for the League and Europe and a discussion about whom Liverpool have to beat to win. Jay Mwamba is somewhat unimpressed by the recent transfer activity and thinks Robbie Keane has made a mistake. Arsene Wenger an engineer and financier? Well…..kind of. Scouse Paul doesn't travel too far this time out – just to his garden and the paper shop. Garden gnomes! If you can believe it. And it is relevant, surprisingly. Justin has a fan, but the two Conors are afraid to let him meet her in the Feedback. Might be bad for the image of MP Red. And the return of an old friend – Niall the Chelsea fan and he has a rant. And what a beauty. A tiny bit of sympathy for him. Tiny.

Things are slow around Merseyside. Conor and Justin sitting around ready to discuss the weather. A pre-season friendly or two but how much faith to put in these games? A few moves on the transfer market. Crouch? Smaller when he jumps? Gone. And not necessarily a bad thing. But he will be missed. Testing Justin to untangle the Gordian Knot of Barry, Alonso, Juventus and Arsenal. Does he have it in him as an analyst? And then there's the Keane and Manchester United house of cards. And a last chance to unload the Spanish galleons? The Panel looks across the league and tries to read the various tea-leaves. No real blockbusters yet. How far up Wenger's sleeves are the aces? And who's indulging in schadenfreude - big word - about which Man. United player? What about Liverpool? Is Robbie Keane the missing piece? And will Drogba be part of the equation next season? Antonio Volpe Pasini looks at the upcoming Serie A season and reckons there are only four teams and tow outsiders in the mix. But he does put his money on one very emphatically. A bet-your-house-emphatically. Scouse Paul takes us off to London again. This time in the back of a white van. That was only stopped once by the police. But did he have the winner in the Grand National? All will be explained. And poor Diarmuid comes to us in the feedback looking to solve the Man. United/Ronaldo problem. We might need to increase our sympathy quotient. Then again maybe not.

A midsummer's podcast to quench the thirst and tide us over for a while. If you sit in the analyst's chair, you will leave New York. That is the prophecy and once again it comes to pass. Dave is out, so we have a new analyst, but he's not unknown, not if you have being paying attention that is. So what news in the off-season? Not much really - the Euros have even kept the transfer market quiet, but there is a good bye to John Arne Riise and will Xabi follow him to Italy? Villa tell Liverpool to keep their mitts off Bentley if they want Barry. Confused? Sammy Lee returns, bringing a Scouse heartbeat back to the club. The ownership saga rambles on like a runaway stagecoach and two cowboys fighting for control of the horses. Another investor? Maybe and maybe he will not be DIC. Benayoun fixing his bike for a one-way journey? Pennant out, but Milner in? And that's an improvement? Dion Fanning with a scathing look at the antics of Chelsea, Kenyon, Abramovich and Ronaldo. The Panel looks back at the glory that was Austria and Switzerland. A lot of love for Spain and Turkey and Russia, not so much for Germany, Italy, France and Greece. A changing of the guard? Marcos Senna - the man who won it for Spain. Scouse Paul takes us to London in the early 80s where he spied his 16-year-old brother with a pair of stilettos after a game. In public. Wearing a Liverpool shirt. You have to listen to this one. And then there's the feedback. Conor (the good one) quite taken with a lady vet who took the time to write. There have been stranger obsessions on MP Red, we think. A good discussion on how much it would take to pry Torres from Anfield compared to Ronaldo from Salford. Babel with a rare blood ailment? Conor, the bad one, (and now medical expert) fills us in. Seriously, a lady vet, if you can believe it.

We're back! After an enforced medical absence MP Red returns to cap off the season. What medical condition? Not a good one. Simon has left us again for the summer and is Dave about to follow him out? And if so, why? Anyway, we've reviewed every Liverpool game this season and we're not about to stop now, even if we're a little late.
A quick look back at European exit in Stamford Bridge and then guess what? Transfers, transfers and more of them. Riise gone for £5M! Can you believe it? Deggen in, Dossena following him? Alonso out? And why doesn't Rafa like Crouch? An interesting rumor on that from inside Anfield. Ribery and Podolski in? Shurely shome mishtake and a different type of Panel Discussion contemplates the end of the season. No denying United's dominance, but what bright spots for Liverpool? Benitez is responsible for what exactly? Was 2007-08 a successful season for Liverpool? Chelsea? Arsenal? Michael Henderson with an evisceration of Chelsea's pretensions, though he is marginally kinder to United. Just about. Scouse Paul paid £18 for a bit of carrot and a salad in Geneva in 1984 and he's still moaning about it. Rome. '84. By car. 3 people. A 2 man tent. Write your own ending. A Feedback section that starts off with a comparison of who was sicker. Conor, Dave and the good Conor discuss the usual. The Icelandic Women's U-21 football side. Voting. Freestyle milking in Ballinrobe. Biohazards. Great names for cities. All the stuff you'd expect in a Feedback section about Liverpool.

What about these end of season games? And European Cup Semi-finals? Dirk Kuyt the highest scorer in Europe? Really? Chelsea get their tactics wrong at Anfield? The ownership saga rumbles on and on and on and on and.......But what work by Benitez is 5 short months. The kingmaker around L4 these days? And guess what? Politicians jumping on the bandwagon. That's all that was missing. The Panel looks at what Liverpool can learn from United, Chelsea and Arsenal, all of whom have won the league more recently than Liverpool. There's the financial aspect and the black arts aspect. Anything else? And how far away are Liverpool from bridging those gaps? Antonio Volpe Pasini in A Kick In The Grass with a view of English football from an Italian perspective. Much respect surprisingly. And a large degree of envy. Scouse Paul takes us to Middlesborough in 1977, the land of baggy pants, apparently. And 6 foot mountain men who like to hammer hell out of Scousers for a laugh. Funny, he doesn't remember too much of Dalglish's Liverpool debut. And your feedback. Dave has gauntlets to pick up, exchange rates to be made and sheep? to be counted in Ballinrobe, Ireland. And Conor considers the herpes of all results. And somehow this all makes sense.
After battling some very nasty studio gremlins, #33 is here, albeit later than we wanted. Dave takes the hot seat this time around, and there's an exacting analysis of the Arsenal quarter-final victory. And what this? Our analyst hasn't heard of one player and only knows another from Championship Manager? Hmmm.......Harry Kewell refuses to leave the North West, but Dave has a solution. And another week of the Liverpool soap opera in the boardroom. Getting tedious, isn't it? The Panel is back with a serious sit down and look at the Champions League. How the semi-finalists got there, who'll make the final and are these the golden days of English football? 3 teams in the semis might suggest that, but then again Italy had that a few years ago also. In place of A Kick In The Grass, a moving tribute to the 96 via Stephen F Kelly. Scouse Paul takes us back to May of '76 for a League Championship and, umm, a streaker on the M6. And in the Feedback - a call for the MP Red crew to take over from whom? You just won't believe this one, or maybe you will.

The second part of the Ian Callaghan interview where he looks back on the St. Etienne game, Phil Neal, Liverpool's first and second European cup triumphs and life after football. Not to be missed. Simon sits out the news so Dave takes his place. Dave has given up the ciggies. Dave is grouchy. An examination of the whys and why nots of the Old Trafford debacle and very little love for any of the players. Stevie G, a captain? About as much as Steve Bennett is a referee. No excuses for Mascherano and why do Liverpool pick the Man U game to have its worst game of the season? Deco to Liverpool? Scouse Paul returns for his Part II also with an hilarious tale of the invasion of a small Alpine village by hordes of starving and thirsty Liverpool fans. He never did get the name. Clive Toye tells a tale of how he used to run the Cosmos for two owners who had 50% each. Interesting tales from a veritable clown palace. The Cosmos were Turkish? Who knew? Not Clive anyway. And how does this apply to Anfield? Well, the Liverpool Oilers are one suggestion! The feedback booth gets cantankerous - Dave needs his ciggies, Conor (the good one) is annoyed and Conor (the not good one) is almost left speechless. No, really!

<itunes:subtitle>Episode 32 - A continuation of our interview with Liverpool legend, Ian Callaghan. Clive Toye once worked for a team that had two owners. Chaos ensued. Sound familiar?</itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:summary>The second part of the Ian Callaghan interview where he looks back on the St. No, really!

Ian Callaghan, the man who has played more games for Liverpool than any other player, who joined Liverpool before Shankly and left after him, who saw the rise of Liverpool from a very ordinary 2nd Division side to kings of Europe, joins the crew in the both. First up, he sits in with Conor and Simon looking at all the Liverpool news and rumors. Would he have liked to be crossing the ball for Torres? Le Tallec a spent force? Steven Gerrard, yes, Cally rates him, but hear why. And a bit of sympathy for his old team mate, Kevin Keegan. The player who changed Liverpool FC? Well, we have a replacement for A Kick In The Grass and it's a very special remembrance of how great Ian Callaghan was, and what he meant to one person and an entire city. The first part of a two parter of an in-depth interview. Hear his story about his debut for Liverpool on £10 pounds a week! And what's the difference between Shankly and Paisley? Ian has his opinions. Playing in the 1966 World Cup, hear some of the stories behind the scenes. And it was Alf then, but always Mr. Shankly. Why? Scouse Paul takes us on his first trip outside England, to Rome in 1977, to see Ian & Co. lift the European Cup. And your feedback. After a long day we didn't get a rant from Simon, but we tried.

MP Red - puts hair on your chest, shapes your eyebrows and generally increases your attractiveness.

Simon returns after an absence but where was MP Red for the last week? Simon sets his sights on some players. Riise? Finnan? Maybe. And who is the star of stage, screen and animal enclosure? Has Carragher become slow? And how did Liverpool lose to Barnsley? Benitez out? The Panel sees a seat for Dave and it looks at the apparent disconnect between European and domestic success. The black arts. What are they and who practices them and why don't Liverpool? And refs - are they really bought off? Maybe, but you'd be surprised to hear where. Chelsea and Liverpool with the wrong managers? And Middlesboro indicative of English European success? Dion Fanning with a scathing look at fair weather fans, biased journalists and pundits and some statistics with which you just can't argue. But he's really angry. Scouse Paul travels to Monaco or was it Italy? And how do you end up in an abandoned hospital with messages written on your face? The Feedback section sees a subdued Simon rant - not as good as his others, but a rant nonetheless. We've missed those.

Dave and Conor sit down and manage to find a lot of stuff to talk about that doesn't involve finances, take-overs or feuds. Though they do discuss all them also. Where's George Gillett, by the way? Liverpool stuck in a rut of draws and poor results. Why? The Panel looks at transfer policies. Arsenal seem to do well, but it doesn't transfer into as much success as Manchester United. Who has the better policy then? How do Liverpool and Benitez match up? The best buy of recent years? Jay Mwamba sets his stall out very firmly with a look at the African Cup of Nations and who he expects in the final. Not much love for South Africa and rightly so. Scouse Paul takes a serious trip this time out and stays close to home with a trip to The Sandon. Who and what exactly are the Sons of Shankly? And as ever, the Feedback. Searching for a lost love again for a former analyst? And the good Conor gets a promotion. Kind of.

The first episode of 2008 and it starts with a bang. A look back at all the games over the Christmas and New Year's period and it finds Dave in a reflective mood. Contemplative even. The disgrace of the season? Well, according to Conor, yes. Which game? And Liverpool to get another forward? Transfer rumors would indicate yes, maybe. The Panel rips into the problems of Hicks and Gillett with some very interesting results. Some love for Rick Parry believe it or not, but not much. And not much respect for Jurgen Klinsmann. Guess then how much Hicks and Gillett receive? And is this slow motion war of attrition the most badly managed PR campaign? Maybe, and it's not the Liverpool way. Dave in love with calling people 'numpties'. How many numpties can you fit on a podcast, anyway? Michael Henderson has a bit of a laugh when considering the notion that, um, Newcastle are a, um, big club. And a discussion in the Feedback which solves the problems of English football. (Ahem!)

<itunes:subtitle>Episode 27 - What to make at the midway point of the season? Why Liverpool are still in the race. Clive Toye explaining why money could well be the demise of our game.</itunes:subtitle>

<itunes:summary>The Christmas and New Year episode. Dave returns for the last episode of the year and there's some gnashing of teeth and head scratching when looking at the Reading and Man U results. And 32 million for Sissoko? Seriously? Dave wants Mascherano. He says so 27 times. And how does Henry the VIII get into a Liverpool podcast? The Panel has a look at what's happened so far and what the New Year holds in store. The year of the fired manager. But is the whole season becoming déjà-vu. Nothing new under heaven is the story. One of the big four to win, but which one? What's the biggest disappointment and surprise so far? Kate sits in for an end of year Heroes And Zeroes where she picks the most useless and the best. Clive Toye is very distressed with what is happening to the game and fears for the English game, as opposed to the game in England. Confused? Some good feedback where all the secrets of podcasting are revealed and the good Conor's interest in American manhunks is explained.

Some serious insight into the whys and wherefores of Liverpool's great start and stutter to the season. Clive Toye with some great stories of Anfield in the 60s with Dennis Law, Mussolini and snowballs. Huh? No Kate, but there is Travels with Scouse Paul.
Simon is gone, but for how long? Forever? A new Scouse voice in the booth and a fairly objective look back at Athens. But Conor does get very annoyed about some so-called fans. A quick whirl around the transfer market. Liverpool are involved in that, right? The Panel looks back at the season that was. Respect but no love for certain near neighbours. Mark Gonzales seems to be the recipient of an unwanted award. Overall was the season a success for Liverpool? Well.......Michael Henderson reminds all that it's only Estonia and he's not impressed, Beckham or no. Kate weighs in with a Heroes and Zeroes that's on the money and the Feedback. Well, if no Simon, what happens there? Well, there are one-eyed men in uniform from Alabama! (Seriously). And our quiz chugs along. MP Red, for those languid summer days.
A new voice in A Kick In The Grass and an old one from Italy. Double the value, double the pleasure. What's that about the powers that be assuming that Liverpool fans will spend their money anyway? Now that little game in Athens? Yep! We got it. Simon is here with a very interesting take on why Chelsea were so poor in the semis and a quick look at the end of season games - a youth FA Cup thrown in for good measure. And then guess what's dissected in the panel? Mascherano on Kaka? Gattuso on Gerrard? Who's going to score the goals? Pirlo? Maldini? What is it that Simon wishes he could whisper in Rafa's ear before kick off? And who nails their colours to the mast with a prediction? Kate is absent again from the Feedback, but a really topical Heroes and Zeroes all the way from Alabama. And the very last chance in the contest. We have nothing more to give away after this. And Athens, again. Always Athens. MP Red, it's what you need, it's what you must take, it's the only game in town.

And why is Liverpool one of the best places to live in the UK? All is revealed. More things needed from the Academy? Two old friends sit in for the Panel Discussion. A look at the saddest day in the history of Liverpool Football Club - Hillsborough. And then to lighter matters - the European Semi Finals. Guess what? No one really cares about Man U or AC Milan! Benitez the master tactician? It's a cup game after all. Clive Toye referred a game during wartime once. between two different regiments, while the battle was going on. And he lived to tell the tale. A Kick In The Grass to remember. Results of the contest. Of course the answer was Tampa BAy Rowdies. Everyone knew that. Now a new one. Guess what? Kate's back in NYC and Simon is rather grateful for a reason you just might not expect. Heroes and Zeroes is on the mark again and the feedback section is back to its riotous best. Ahh....yes!
An overdue return after a long Christmas and New Year's. No Kate? Maybe. Simon takes a look at much of the off field goings-on with a nod at two cup games. Neill escaped? And what about Reina - on his way? Dudek gone, right? Would Mascherano make a difference? And some very interesting youth signings from South America, Sweden and maybe Holland. The panel has a look at Liverpool's form. What about those two cup games? But only one goal conceded in the league. Why the difference? No Gerrard fans here. Heroes and Zeroes returns, but where's Kate for the feedback? And what's this about nudity? And who's the perv in the booth? Simon makes that call.
Simon on a bit of a rant during Believe it, Believe it not or Believe it maybe. Liverpool finally with away goals and away wins. Who's in Benitez's sights for January? Defoe for Bellamy? Lucas Neill? The odious former editor of a tabloid gets a mention and there's a look at the Dubai deal. Antonio Volpe Pasini joins the crew for a look at Heysel from an Italian perspective with a lucky escape for his brother in A Kick In The Grass. Then there's Part II of the Phil Neal interview. He looks at Heysel himself with some surprising revelations. He remembers his time with Ray Clemence and looks back at his time as a manager of Bolton and Coventry. Phil examines who are the really good full backs playing in today's game. And the memories just keep rolling on with the marvelous Phil Neal. Kate takes her turn with Heroes and Zeroes and she indicts the whole of world football- not just a little bit, the whole of it. And where would we be without the insightful feedback.
We start with a look at Noel White. Caught telling tales out of school and he pays the price and Simon's not too impressed with Gerrard's antics. Kirkland gone to Wigan, but will he survive another freak injury? A requiem for a Salford debacle with some silver linings at Anfield. The panel looks at the problem of racism in the game in a no-holds barred talk. Obviously not acceptable, but what about a massive 300 euro fine for some Spanish clubs? And what was that Ian Wright called Roy Keane again? This discussion could have run and run. A Kick In The Grass sees Jay Mwamba look at racism in the game in Europe and Africa. Egypt and South Africa go to Africa to play their games? When they are already there? Kate's back with Heroes and Zeroes and she's not picking on Chelsea, but they are such inviting targets. Your feedback sees Kate corrected for an obvious mistake - well, not really; she's waiting for letters of apology. Want to win a pair of Simon's underwear? You can, you know.......And more invective for Gerrard. Conor knows how to cook scouse, but not Kate. And Kate and Simon find that they knew each other way back when in 1986. Well, kind of. And the most famous piece of sports commentary ever? Not it's not from 1966 but from 1981. A podcast that will enrage, engage and outrage. It's all here.........

Simon returns with strange tales of hit and runs. Liverpool looking anemic, is Lucas Neill the answer? Bellamy scores, but a flash in the pan? Just what's needed - the dreaded team meeting. What's next? A vote of confidence? Carragher with an honest step up. Dudek scheming to leave? And poor old Salif, right? The Panel is a man down because we have to say goodbye to a valued Club member. So what's this about Las Vegas again? A look at the state of play in the Premiership. Man U a surprise? And what of Chelsea? Wigan to drop? Which team does Simon despise more, Chelsea or Newcastle? And the oft forgotten UEFA Cup - any chance for Blackburn? Clive Toye takes a look at stupidity; would Matt Busby need a publicist? And who is a pouting posing pompous prat? And Clive won't even mention his name! Bitch' or Ditch 'em is gone, replaced by Heroes and Zeroes. Who's in Kate's crosshairs? Thumbs up for whom? Guess which prat gets a thumbs down? And a pointed email from Merseyside puts us all on the defensive, but another allows Simon off on another rant. Best two up front? No place for Fowler? And how about time for partnerships to develop? In Rafa we trust, but............. Liverpool involved in the bung scandal? Well, they're not clean, but then again can they afford the high road? A very welcome return from Michael Henderson who casts a very cold eye on that horseman riding by on a bung and sleaze ridden horse. The panel discussion gets down the meat and potatoes of Liverpool's upcoming season. Have the right players been bought? What of Hyypia - is his place safe? Can Liverpool catch Chelsea? And what of Man U and Arsenal? Is there a good Champions League run in this side? Benitez has finally come to grips with English football, so perhaps a breakthrough this season? Predictions from the panel for the season. A new voice, Clive Toye takes a scathing look at English football and why it has meant the demise of the national side. Nothing pretty here. Kate is cracking the whip again in the Feedback section. A threat to Simon and Conor not to ever set foot in Portugal or else......Suzie wants to compare parts with Kate? Woo-hoo!

And on we go with the usual madness and insight. MP Red Episode #5 - get 'em while they're hot...
