Yeah the US is brimming over with domestic terrorists. I’m not just talking GWB and Cheney here, people are just plain berserk. It is possibly because they realize that we actually have a single party system which isn’t too concerned with the well being of citizens. In the 90s, they attempted to conduct WMD attacks in America. One guy tried to conduct an attack on Las Vegas using ricin, another plan was disrupted in Texas where KKK members were going to bomb a rail car carrying some toxic gas that would have released a poisonous cloud over, I think San Antonio (I can look it up if you want). In the plot, the poison gas attack would be a distraction from an armored car robbery they planned. and then google David Burgert of the Montana Militia sometime….AND NONE OF THEM WERE MUSLIMS!
Fancy that!

What was the recruiting tool for the enemy pre- 9/11??? I want you to show me in black and white where someone has been picked up, questioned and the reason they give for hating the U.S. or attacking us is Guantanamo.

Heh heh heh, oh how they want to set up the glasy-eyed minions to serve as dart boards!

This is all so unproductive and destructive to our country. There are plenty of areas where Republicans should find agreement with President Obama.
This is how our country works best.
We recognize our differences and debate them, but also seek to locate common ground. During the campaign, then-Senator Obama promised a more aggressive approach to counterterrorism and he has followed through as president.
The fact that Republicans are unable to get behind things like:
* increasing Predator drone attacks on al Qaeda and Taliban leaders,
* prodding the Pakistanis into launching a military offensive into the border region
* appointing a more aggressive commander to run operations in Afghanistan
* sending 21,000 troops to Afghanistan – an increase of over 45% (the “Surge” in Iraq consisted of an increase of less than 15%)
* ordering the closure of Guantanamo, thus eliminating a major recruiting tool for the enemy

This is no different than the book signings I have beent to. You get a number or wristband, you stand in line after buying the book. When the person signing the book has to leave, they have to leave. It’s a chance you take. You either get there and get a good spot to ensure you get the signature, or you take your lumps.
