Ventura brought suit in federal district court, because he wanted his complaint heard by a jury. But the feds won't allow that. Strange, that, isn't it? What you didn't see was the REASON BoA instituted that fee. The reason? A regulation introduced by, yeah, you got it, DICK DURBIN, in late 2009, early 2010. Anyone notice that politicians seem to be more and more confident that they can get away with double-speak and hypocrisy? Just two weeks ago, the US government killed a US citizen they accused of "terrorism", killed without trial or a presentation of the evidence against him. Then, a fortnight later, the US government proudly announces that its agents have busted a plot to ASSASSINATE an Arab ambassador. While the Arab ambassador is not seen as a criminal in the eyes of the US politicians, the Iranians claim that Saudi Arabia has been guilty of assisting the US government in its campaign of killings of innocent Muslims in the Middle East. So on the one hand, the US claims it is illegal and bad to try to assassinate a person who has not been proven to have done anything bad, and on the other, the US officials claim that it is a noble thing to kill a person who has not been proven to have done anything bad -- but in the latter case, it is the US government that's doing the killing, so it is alright, we're told. Strange days. We cover it, and ask why people put their faith in this corrupt institution called the state. How best can one respond to the news that the "green" energy company Solyndra filed for bankruptcy, AFTER GETTING A HALF-A-BILLION DOLLARS IN LOAN GUARANTEES VIA THE FEDERAL GUBMENT (IE FORCED FROM TAXPAYERS AND THEIR OFFSPRING)? What can one say after discovering a new wrinkle in the case, which is that a big SUPPORTER of the current administration is the recipient of an unusual re-writing of the loan guarantee, allowing this man (named KAISER -- RING A BELL?) to get BACK what he invested in Solyndra BEFORE taxpayers can get anything back (and they never would have anyway, because the feds would have just re-spent it on other nonsense)? How about we compare the way political favoritism, crony capitalism/mercantilism go after the "little guy" and the way free markets try to cater to the little guy? Sounds like a plan! Here ya go! We note that within the unfortunate existence of the state there have been a few people who have espoused many of our principles, and applied them to contemporary issues and historical events. One of those men is Congressman Ron Paul. Congressman Paul recently sat down to an interview with editors and reporters of the NH Concord Monitor, a hardcore statist/leftist paper. What is remarkable about the interview is that, because the interviewers are so ignorant of economics, history and the US Constitution, their attempts to attack Dr. Paul end up inspiring him to answer in incredible detail, with no malice, and offering the listener (or viewer, this is derives from a Youtube video you can find and link for friends, please do!) a powerful overview of libertarian principles in practice. It is one of the best interviews of a libertarian released this year. Please check it out!
