Comp: <br />

In 1 game I had against the guards, my opponent had an infantry squad w/autocannon in a chimera.  In the shooting phase, he would fire his autocannon and then pivot his chimera to fire both its multi-las and heavy bolter.<br />
 <br />
In another game, I had an inquisitor w/2 mystics.  Now my opponent drops a pod to my rear and the mystics spot them.  Can I (1) pivot my tank to fire at them, or am I (2) only allowed to fire turreted weapons or whatever weapons were facing them when they landed?  I'm thinking it should be (2).<br />

I was playing around a little bit and came up with the list below.  Everybody has a DP and since most of my local opponents are not used to this, I can achieve the element of surprise twice ^_^  On paper, this seems like a really flexible army that can get in close to anything.  AV13 should hopefully be almost untouchable in CC, but I'm not sure how this will fare in objective missions with only 3-5 scoring units.<br />

his list was more experimental, as he took a ton of artillery. he usually has lot more foot troops.<br />

 <br />
deployment was pretty straight forward. he placed the runelord behind a hill in the center of his DZ. bolt thrower on the far right, next to a large woods. warriors were placed on th other side of the woods, angled towards the center. the flame cannon was placed next to the warriorors. thunderers were placed infront of the hill and the crossbows were on the hill in 2 ranks. the organ gun was on the other side of the thunderers, and the grudge thrower was right next to the organ gun. an impassable piece of terrain was inbetween the organ gun and grudge thower. the second bolt thrower, the one with the master engineer, was on his far left flank.<br />
 <br />
Daemon deployment:<br />
on my far left flank I placed my furies and a unit of horrors, followed by the flamers. the two units of letters I put in the center, with a a unit of furies right next to them. I put the second horror unit to the right of the furies in a forest and the keeper hid behind the forest. the flesh hounds were placed on my far right flank, poised to attack the cluster of war machines.<br />
 <br />
I won the roll to go first and took it.<br />
 <br />
Daemon turn 1:  <br />
I moved the furies up to towards the bolt throwers and the keeper behind the impassable terrain angled towards the thunderers. the hounds moved up towards his war machines and moved the horrors, as well as the letters up the center.<br />
 <br />
magic had no affect what so ever the entire game as I didn't have enough of it to accomplish anything against dwarves.<br />
 <br />
I was out of range for my flamers.<br />
 <br />
Dwarves turn 1:<br />
my friend had the worst luck I have ever seen. His anvil blew up and his organ gun misfired, which took it out for 2 turns. the bolt thrower on his left failed to put any wounds on the keeper and his flame cannon missed completely. the thunderers and crossbows only managed to kill 1 blood letter. the other bolt thrower only had sight on my furies and killed 1. thats all he managed to do in his very unfortunate turn.<br />
 <br />
Daemon turn 2:<br />
the furies all charged the bolt throwers and the keeper charged the thunderers. One hound unit charged the grudge thrower and the other angled itself to charge the bolt thrower if th furies died. the letters got into position to take out the warrior unit. the horrors and flamers shifted forward. <br />
 <br />
the flamers shot at the flame cannon but had no effect.<br />
 <br />
the furies and hounds killed some crew members but not enough to wipe them out. the keeper kills 5 thunderers and breaks the unit and pursues into the crossbows.<br />
 <br />
Dwarf turn 2:<br />
the miners showed up right behind my hounds in reserve and the warriors shifted forward, preparing for the charge. <br />
 <br />
the flame cannon manages to kill 2 letters and the orgn gun is still out of commission.<br />
 <br />
the keeper kills 5 crossbows but they hold. the hounds manage to finish off the grudge thrower and the furies are still locked in combat.  <br />
 <br />
Daemon turn 3:<br />
the BSB charges out of the letters at the organ gun, while his unit angles towards the flank of the warriors and the other letter unit charges the front of the warriors. the hounds in reserve can't escape the miners, so they just turn around to face them. the flamers move forward toward the flame cannon. the other unit of hounds move towards the hill.<br />
 <br />
the flamers finally manage to kill 1 flame cannon crew member.<br />
 <br />
the keeper finally runs down the crossbows and the furies on my left flank die a terrible death. the other unit of furies kills off the rest of the crew. the bsb kills the organ gun and the letters run down the warriors, with a good bit of luck.<br />
 <br />
at ths point my friend just calls the game as he only has a bolt thrower, miner unit, and flame cannon left on the field. we wanted time for another game.<br />
 <br />
 <br />
The second game he decided to pull out his warriors of chaos.<br />
I decided to keep the list I used against dwarves because I wanted to try a second game with my keeper.<br />
 <br />

this time he won the roll to go first.<br />

warriors turn 1:<br />
he pretty much much everything forward in a stright line. his left unit of horsemen moved their full distance towards my horrors. everything else was moved 8 or 10 inches forward in a line. <br />
 <br />
his magic failed him because i had almost as many dispell dice as he had power dice. he got nothing besides a flickering fire off the whole game, and it did nothing. the dice gods glowered upon him today. <br />
 <br />
Daemon turn 1:<br />
nothing charged, although I should have. instead, my leftmost unit of hounds moved within 1 inch of his spawn, which moved 12 inches! :soldier: the hounds angled themselves out of LOS of the chosen but were facing their flank. the leftmost furies moved up behind the horsemen and the keeper moved right infront of the horsemen, but his left flank was exposed to them, he was also out of LOS of the chosen. the second unit of furies moved 7 inchees infront of the chosen. the second unit of hounds moved up and angled themselves toward where the flank of the chosen will be if they overrun. the letters stayed put. <br />
 <br />
all my magic was dispelled.<br />
 <br />
the flamers took out 3 of the horsemen and they fled 15 inches away.<br />
 <br />
Warriors turn 2:<br />
I activated siren song on his horsemen and they elected to flee. they ended up 14 inches away. the spawn charged my furies on his right and the chosen were forced to charge my furies rught in front of them. luckily his chariot could not see anything, because he angled it towards my letters. the rest of the army moved forward, except for the giant which moved over to his right, behind the marauders. <br />
 <br />
all his magic was dispelled.<br />
 <br />
neither of his horsemen rallied and they fled off the table.<br />
his spawn killed all but 1 of the furies but they suceeded their instability test. the chosen killed the other fury unit and overran 6 inches. perfect. <br />
 <br />
Daemon turn 2:<br />
the keeper charged the chariot in the flank and the 1st unit of hounds charged the spawn. the second hound unit charged the flank of the chosen. the 1st letter unit charged the maruaders in the front and the second letter unit charged the front of the warriors. <br />
 <br />
magic did nothing.<br />
 <br />
the flamers managed to put 1 wound on the champion.<br />
 <br />
the hounds killed the spawn and the other unit of hounds killed 4 chosen. at this point they needed double ones because they were outnumbered by a fear causing enemy who won combat and they were run down. the keeper put 3 wounds on the chariot which fled into the marauder unit, exploding chariot and marauder alike. the letters routed the marauders and pursued into the giant. the other letter unit whiffed its attacks and lost over half the unit. <br />
 <br />
Warriors turn 3:<br />
 <br />
at this point he was hard pressed but he still had an oppurtunity to draw it out if he could take out my letter units. the champion charged the flank of the second letter unit and the spawn was just out of reach. the rest of his army was already in combat.<br />
 <br />
the giant had a spectacular display of killing one letter. the rest of the unit put 6 wounds on him and killed it. the letters managed to hold out as the warriors and champion whiffed their attacks.<br />
 <br />
Daemon turn 3:<br />
at this point the keeper can charge the flank of his warrior unit and thats pretty much all he had left, so we just called it.<br />
 <br />
at the end of the day I was sitting on 2 massacres.<br />
granted his lists were rather soft and he was experimenting.<br />
I like the keeper but my magic just isn't very effective with him in my list. Overall I think my list works better with the big angry dude but I'm still against using greater demons because I think they are overpowered. <br />

Now im reluctant to play nurgle because they remind me of necrons.  Im not sure of whats succesful for daemons. I know they dont assault the opening turn they deepstrike as the lesser daemons do out of the chaos marine codex. just wondering whats been fairly effective and perhaps some tips on the daemonic asault as weel as deployment.  Any advice is welcome and thanks.</div>

<font size="1">My biggest hangup in the list is the Vendetta, not having ever used one before. In my 1000 point games though I've felt like I've been lacking in long range AT,  struggling to move melta vets close enough to neutralize things like hammerheads. A Vendetta seemed like my best bet.</font><br />

			<description>Hey its been a while since ive been on lo.  I been playing lots of games and have a question.  When a monolith teleports a unit through its portal can it also gauss flux as well?  I know you cant teleport as well as using a particle whip as teleporting counts as using the monoliths power matrix.</description>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>A little while ago I decided that I was going to take the plunge and start a Space Marine army, as they're just so easy to start.  After careful consideration, looking through many of the available codecies (including Codex: Space Marines, Space Wolves, Black Templar, Dark Angels and Blood Angels) and settled on the Crimson Fists.<br />
<br />
I'm a fan of the fluff behind Space Marines, and they way I see it they're the angels of death, and death comes from above, thus my space marines enter play via drop pods.  I know there are some game play issues with this kind of list, but I think it'll be fun to play.<br />

This is the first list I've made that I've considered playing, so I'd like ya'll to take a look and give me your thoughts:<br />

The idea is to have Pedro join the melta vets and add some close combat ability to the squad, and for the Forge Father to tag along with the assault marine squad and add his plasma pistol to theirs and hopefully just watch an important squad disappear, they might get overlooked or charged, in which case the squad should prove to be a nasty surprise to my opponent.  Everything else feels pretty self explanatory.  I get four drop pods on the first turn, likely to be the melta squad, flamer squad, a dreadnought, and perhaps a generic squad or the assault squad.<br />
<br />
I plan to try and get the pods to drop in the same general area and hit one flank very hard, and when the opponent starts to redeploy to deal with the threat, the other pods will come down one by one and allow me to outflank them again.<br />
<br />
Feel free to give me your opinion on the list, that's why I posted it.<br />

I'm trying to find the best way to use the banner so it's worth it.<br />
<br />
It can only be given to a skink chief so he can't take any magic items if he takes the banner.  Do you put him on a (Ancient) Stegadon or just in a unit.<br />
<br />
Putting the chief in a unit of skinks with kroxigors would give the kroxigors extra attacks but he will be really vulnerable.<br />
<br />
Putting him on a steg on his own sounds like a waste of points (even if the crew and the steg gain 1 attack each)<br />
<br />
Putting him on a ancient steg and joining a unit of 8 cold one riders would make a unit 6 wide, 2 ranks with the cold ones and their riders each gaining 1 attack + 1 attack for the steg and it's crew.  Giving the Huanchi's blessed totem to the cold one riders would be nuts.  It looks good on paper but costs so much to make a 25 point banner usefull.<br />
<br />
Putting the same chief with banner on a steg in a unit of saurus could be nice.<br />
<br />
Any input welcome.</div>
