Lo,

Quick question re: the Talisman of Loec. Does the "re-roll hits" stack with our existing Speed of Asuryan to mean we get to re-roll failed hits twice? The re-rolling to wound and the saved wounds re-rolling is obviously a perk, but I'm not sure why they'd mention re-roll hits again since anyone who could take the item has SoA. Or am I missing something?

Need Help Against Space Marines

Need help with a 1500 pt list against Space Marines, the Marines list looks something like this:

Captain: Relic Blade, Digial, Artificer Armor
Terminator Squad: Assault Cannon
Iron Dreadnought: Heavy Flamer, Hunter/Killer
Land Raider: Multi-Melta
Thunderfire Cannon
Wirlwind
(2) Tactical Squads: (2) Pwr Fists, (2) LasCannons, (2) Flamers
(2) Rhinos
(1) Drop Pod
Generally all the Space Marines are deployed in Vehicles.

I am running an Ork Army using the following
Warboss: Mega Armor
(5) Mega Nobs
(9) Nobs: `evay armor, Power Klaw (4), Waaagh Banner, Boss Pole
(12) Boyz: Nob, Power Klaw, Boss Pole
(12) Tank Busta: Nob, Power Klaw, Boss Pole, (2) Tank Hammers
(5) Warbikes, Nob Boss Pole
(5) Deff Koptas: Twin Linked Rokkit Launcha
All Mega Nobs, Nobs, Tank Bustas and Boyz start in Truckks

Generally my tactics have been to use the Bikes and the Deff Koptas as screen to advance the Boyz.
I go after the Wirlwind with my Deff Koptas, Use the Tank Bustas on the Land Raider, Match the Mega Nobs Vs. Terminators, Nobs and Boyz vs. Tactical Squads.

The difficult part is to get the Space Marines out of the Rhinos so that I can assult them. Tank Busta and Deff Koptas can do this, but they often do not survive their primary missions (Destroying the Land Raider, Wirlwind) to make these attacks. I generally lose one vehicle to the Dreadnought on the first turn.

Any help, advice or comment would be appreciated. Thanks!

Anvil of Doom: Is there a reason it doesn't get any love?

So my first army in fantasy is dwarves, and my favorite model (both fluff wise and in how it works) is the Anvil of Doom. While I was very excited to go out and buy one, my enthusiasm is waning as I have not seen many others here on the forums that even mention it, let alone are including one in their lists. Is the Anvil of Doom really that bad, or do people just think it is cheesy? If you do field one, do you recommend using Thorek or just a runelord?

I'm beginning a Raven Guard army and I'm looking for some feedback on an 1850pts list which I'm building my force around (1500 and 2000 pts lists will just add and subtract a unit or two and pop in a LS or 2, shifting some points from place to place).

I was thinking about getting a Dark Elf army

Dont have any models at all, looking through the book I have drawn up a quick draft (no magic items thats why it comes short)

This would come in at 4000 with magic items

A few questions:
A: Is this a good list
B: Whats the best mount for a dreadlord, I picked Manticore but are they that good, uncontrolable puts me off a little

1 point after reading the book, Malus Darkblade is the reason for this army so stays lol

Hi all,

The list i ended up with is nothing like what i had in mind when i started. One thing i did want is to encorperate shadow magic in my list, so that aswell as buffing my own units up with augment spells like ASF an regen, than i could thenalso reduce the fighting power of enemy units, being that our basic troops are not so good when left to fend for themsleves.

I did want origionaly an all Wight list with necromancers, so Skeletons, GG, Black Knights, and a Black Coach just for kicks. But its far from what i ended up with. Please comment on the list following.

Vampire Lord = 444pts
Heavy Armour + Shield
Lvl2 Lore of Shadows
Red Fury (wounds caused grant more attacks)
Quick Blood (ASF, combined with my high Int will allow in most cases to reroll to hit)
Sword of Strife (+2 Attacks)
Talisman of Endurance (5+ward, wanted 4+ but lacked the points)
Potion of Strength (i dont have alot of high strength in my army, and figured 7 attacks at S8 even for a short burst would help out in a pinch)
Dragon Helm (+1 to my armour save for a total 3+, and gives a 2++ against flaming attacks)

Necromancer = 120pts
Lvl 2 Lore of Vampires
Master of the Dead (considering the starting size of my skeleton units i may swap this out for a dispel scroll)

Necromancer = 135pts
Lvl 2 Lore of Vampires
The Cursed Book (i see this as another opertunity to inflict hexes on enemy troops. If i could have taken lore of shadow on necormancers i dont think i would have bothered with a vampire lord)

(a bit expensive if someone kills it quick with a magic weapon, but im hoping it will be able to bypass alot of deffenses to score some easy kills. will support a skeleton unit i think)

(i am not entirely sure of a role for these guys yet, putting the VL with them seems a little to much overkill and too many points in one place, i may just leave them without a character. I have considerd taking a different unit to these, BLack Knights or Crypt Gheists, but thought i would give them a go first)

6 Vargheists = 27#pts
(i like the idea of running this unit 3x2, but i will loose out on 3 attacks and 3 possible stomp in this way. the larger unit size will keep them alive longer and keep them doing more damage but i might just punt for a unit of 3-4 if they dont do as well as i hope)

Mortis Engine = 240pts

(i was of 2 minds on ME. I wanted a Black Coach, and was even thinking taking Blood Knights, but with nothing above lvl2 i could realy do with the +2 to cast lore of vampires when in range. the regen will be apreciated along with the banshee howl, but i think i can see this unit being dropped in the long run).

Total = 2370pts (30pts left over)

As you can see im not overly convinced with units and the build of my list so am looking for any sugestions that can be offered up. I was thinking with the spare points maybe Beguile on my lord, and Flaming banner for the spear unit.
