Homeschool Days at the Frontier Culture Museum and Monticello

These two homeschool days have been added to the field trip calendar. Currently there isn't a field trip scheduled for the group, but that may change.

Classes Scheduled

The first couple of months of classes have been scheduled. In September Jenn will offer Colonial History, centered around historical events in Williamsburg, Virginia. In October Bobbi will offer Chemistry, two weeks of general concepts and two weeks of a project building a planter with Jenn. Please take a look at the calendar linked on the right. Currently there aren't any field trips planned but we'll post more as things develop.

Future offerings may include computer science, physics, and geography through art.

Guidelines and Class Schedule

Here's the guidelines and class schedule for Library Love this year. This information will also be available as a direct link on the right hand side of the blog posts.

The space at the library is reserved from noon-4, with noon-2pm for lunch/social time and 2-4pm for whatever class or activity planned for that week.

Classes will last approximately four weeks with a Game Day the fifth week. There may be minimal homework but most of the work will take place during group time. The ages for the younger and older groups are guidelines, not hard and fast rules. The younger group is for kids up to fourth grade and the older group is for fifth grade and older. Usually the two groups will work on the same subject with different age-appropriate content.

Each class will have a fee of $1/week per child with some additional supply charges for special projects. The goal is to have enough money to buy supplies but keep the pricing very affordable, so if the fees are a problem you can talk to/email Jen Willett to discuss it.
