The Bible contains 66 books and was written by more than 40 authors over a period of roughly 1,500 years. It’s divided into two major sections or testaments. We call these the Old and New Testament.

Together these sections make up one large story that centers on humanity’s problem (sin) and God’s solution to send His Son to rescue humanity (that's you and me) from this problem.

    PAUL HARVEY’S ‘IF I WERE THE DEVIL’ TRANSCRIPT

If I were the devil … If I were the Prince of Darkness, I’d want to engulf the whole world in darkness. And I’d have a third of its real estate, and four-fifths of its population, but I wouldn’t be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree — Thee.  So I’d set about however necessary to take over the United States. I’d subvert the churches first — I’d begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: ‘Do as you please.’

“To the young, I would whisper that ‘The Bible is a myth.’ I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what’s bad is good, and what’s good is ‘square.’ And the old, I would teach to pray, after me, ‘Our Father, which art in Washington…’

“And then I’d get organized. I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting, so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting. I’d threaten TV with dirtier movies and vice versa. I’d pedal narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.

“If I were the devil I’d soon have families that war with themselves, churches at war with themselves, and nations at war with themselves; until each in its turn was consumed. And with promises of higher ratings I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames. If I were the devil I would encourage schools to refine young intellects, but neglect to discipline emotions — just let those run wild, until before you knew it, you’d have to have drug sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door.

“Within a decade I’d have prisons overflowing, I’d have judges promoting pornography — soon I could evict God from the courthouse, then from the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of Congress. And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and deify science. I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls, and church money. If I were the devil I’d make the symbols of Easter an egg and the symbol of Christmas a bottle.

“If I were the devil I’d take from those who have, and give to those who want until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious.

And what do you bet I could get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich? I would caution against extremes and hard work in Patriotism, in moral conduct. I would convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what you see on the TV is the way to be. And thus, I could undress you in public, and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure. In other words, if I were the devil I’d just keep right on doing what he’s doing.

Please notice John didn’t say that you can hope you have eternal life or wish you might find eternal life, or dream of perhaps inheriting eternal life. He said that you can know that you have eternal life. You can count on it.

That’s not to say that you can’t change your mind. Just because you were once saved doesn’t mean you can’t turn from God later, in the same way that a couple who once loved each other enough to marry later made choices that led to divorce.

Jesus told a parable once in which He compared a man sowing seed to the effect that God’s Word has on our hearts. He said, “The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy.

When God created this planet and when he put life on it, God predetermined the amount of time that life would live on this planet, and he set that clock in motion at the time of creation. And this clock has been ticking off the minutes ever since the father's set the date.

What I'm really saying to you is that the end of time is an appointed predestined, predetermined time, and I want to show you that the Book of Daniel clearly indicates this. Let's go to the scripture and look at Daniel 11:35. the angel told Daniel, Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time. Several times here in the Book of Daniel we find the appointed time mentioned. This time of the end is a time of Wrath, it's also an appointed time in the Book of Daniel.

In Daniel 12 the angel says, close-up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. What secret information was sealed in the Book of Daniel until the time of the end? 26 centuries ago God put information in the book of Daniel that would make all previous prophetic exposition obsolete at the time of the end. Read this again, 26 centuries ago God put information in the book of Daniel that would a make all previous prophetic exposition obsolete at the time of the end!

How does Daniel being sealed up until the time of the end make all prophetic exposition obsolete? When Daniel becomes unsealed, then all of the necessary pieces to reach the right conclusions are known. But until the Book of Daniel is unsealed, all prophetic exposition is missing a few key parts.

Nearly 300 years ago, the Irish philosopher Edmund Burke made the well-known statement, “Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.”  In Bible times, the ancients believed the earth was flat and if you moved too far in one direction, you would fall off.  However, four centuries ago, Copernicus published a book challenging this belief presenting the theory that Earth was a sphere rotating around the sun.  The Catholic Church held their interpretation of Scripture could not be disputed, so the idea the earth was not flat was considered heresy.

100 years after Copernicus, the Church had still not changed its position and was trying to squelch any thoughts opposing its view.  The Church ordered Galileo to trial because he was sharing these alternate views.   Galileo’s “heresy” cost him dearly.   

The Church used its political and religious power to censor Galileo’s printed materials.  Just in case another scientist might begin publicizing these offensive views, the Church ordered Galileo’s sentence be widely publicized in scientific circles.

Amazingly, these elements exist in society today as they did four centuries ago.  At the time of Galileo, the Church controlled the proliferation of political and religious thought.  Today, technology, media, and government conspire to accomplish a similar objective.  Secularism is now a religion for the institutions whose goal is to control access to information, our beliefs, and our God-given right to make personal decisions.

So many examples of this abound.  

The media, educational systems, information technology sectors, colluding with government, have manipulated and controlled information, so only “correct” information is shared.  

Years ago, people used to meet in the town square and openly discuss all sides of an issue.   A person could then consider all alternatives and make their own informed decision.  Today, this is not allowed.  

Entities are blatantly stifling news or discussion about election fraud, vaccinations, science, BLM, Critical Race Theory, racism, transgenderism, the whole LGBTQ arena, and enduring moral values.  

If God’s select servants, the 144,00 appeared today, their message that “the world is deep in the pit of sin,” as demonstrated by the rampant homosexuality, transgenderism, and moral depravity throughout society, would be restricted.  Like the Catholic Church of old, today, self-righteous individuals would call them misogynists, bigots, racists, sexists, or homophobes.

Every attempt would be made to cancel them and eliminate them from any public forum so their message could not be heard.  

I used to believe the first four Trumpets of Rev 8 were designed to break down religious barriers so people would consider a message counter to their church’s.   However, today even larger barriers exist throughout society.   The Trumpets will have to sound to create an environment in which the 144,000 can share their God-given message despite religious and secular barriers. 

Lord, help us stand for truth in the world today that we may not be among the “cowardly.”

The 12 tribes had to stagger their access to the temple to one month of the year. God established the ‘Daily Sacrifice’ service, that was conducted by the Temple Priests twice daily, for the other Israelite Tribes that were waiting for month to come around. Dmitry Medvedev, a senior Russian security official who previously served as the nation’s president, has threatened that Russia may soon cut off the West from food exports.

A major player in the global market for wheat and other agri-food products, Russia will instead focus on keeping itself fed, according to Medvedev, alongside supplying its friends and close allies.

Posting on his Telegram, Medvedev said that cutting off the likes of North America and the European Union from its agricultural produce would be a very good way of retaliating against sanctions imposed by the West.

“It so happened that the food security of many countries depends on our supplies,” the Russian official wrote. “It turns out that our food is our quiet weapon. Quiet but ominous.”
