        <description>ONE National Gay &amp;amp; Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries recently completed Out West: The LGBTQ Community Archives Cataloging Project, an ambitious collaboration with San Francisco&#39;s GLBT Historical Society. Support from the Council on Library and Information Resources enabled archivists at ONE and GLBTHS to make available 111 previously hidden collections tracing LGBTQ history&#45;&#45;and daily life&#45;&#45;in California communities.         <description>Archivists at the ONE Archives at the USC Libraries recently completed an ambitious 2&#45;year cataloging project. Thanks to generous support from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), they processed 225 archival collections on many facets of U.S. LGBTQ life from the 1940s to the present.         <description>Researchers can now access thousands of historical records and photographs from previously untouched collections thanks to a recent NHPRC grant to the ONE Archives at the USC Libraries. Newly processed collections include the records of the Christopher Street West LGBTQ pride organization, the photographs of Miles Everitt, who strongly influenced the work of Robert Mapplethorpe, and photographs, invitations, and other materials from the 2006 wedding of Melissa Lopez and Teresa Wang.         <description>Thanks to a grant from the GRAMMY Foundation, the ONE National Gay &amp;amp; Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries have digitized a number of early recordings of LGBTQ activists from the 1950s and 1960s. Many are now available via the USC Digital Library. Keep reading for a recording of pioneering psychiatrist Blanche Baker speaking at the ONE Inc. Midwinter Institute in 1955. Baker broke with her colleagues in American Psychiatry Association who considered homosexuality to be a mental illness until 1973.</description>

        <description>The ONE National Gay &amp;amp; Lesbian Archives recently processed 59 collections as part of a project that received a $133,577 grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC). The project includes many diverse collections that document the beginnings of the LGBT civil rights movement in the United States and the daily lives of prominent artists, activists, and writers. The newly processed collections include photographs dating to 1850 and the records of organizations such as the Lambda Literary Foundation and LGBT running clubs.         <description>The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) recently awarded $203,200 to Out West: The LGBTQ Community Archive Cataloging Project, a collaborative effort to process rare archival materials held by the ONE National Gay &amp;amp; Lesbian Archives and the GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco. Included in the project are 111 archival collections featuring a wealth of rare materials, ranging from the suit worn by Harvey Milk when he was assassinated to early gay and lesbian wedding photos, matchbooks from 1950s gay bars, and memorabilia from Jos&amp;eacute; Sarria&amp;rsquo;s 1961 campaign for San Francisco city supervisor.
