        <description>ONE National Gay &amp;amp; Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries recently completed Out West: The LGBTQ Community Archives Cataloging Project, an ambitious collaboration with San Francisco&#39;s GLBT Historical Society. Support from the Council on Library and Information Resources enabled archivists at ONE and GLBTHS to make available 111 previously hidden collections tracing LGBTQ history&#45;&#45;and daily life&#45;&#45;in California communities.         <description>Archivists at the ONE Archives at the USC Libraries recently completed an ambitious 2&#45;year cataloging project. Thanks to generous support from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), they processed 225 archival collections on many facets of U.S. LGBTQ life from the 1940s to the present. The collections document the work of early activists and visual artists as well as the daily lives of ordinary people who broke new ground for LGBTQ communities throughout the U.S. Keep reading for more details about the project and photos from the newly processed collections.</description>

        <description>The 2015 Summer Kambun Workshop, held in the USC East Asian Library from June 15 to July 10, 2015, will focus on the later Heian&#45;period courtier journal, Chuyuki, by Fujiwara no Munetada (1062&#45;1141). This year&#39;s workshop will be led by Professor Sanae Yoshida from the University of Tokyo&amp;rsquo;s renowned Historiographical Institute and Professor Joan Piggott of USC Dornsife College.         <description>Thanks to generous support from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the USC Libraries recently made available a wealth of archival materials documenting the prodigious creative efforts of mid&#45;century L.A. architect Edward H. Fickett, FAIA. Fickett&#39;s residential projects &#45;&#45; including single&#45;family homes and apartment buildings like the Sunset Lanai &#45;&#45; dot the Southland, and he is also well&#45;known for his design projects at Dodger Stadium, Edwards Air Force Base, and the Port of Los Angeles. You can now find a selection of photographs and drawings of his buildings via the USC Digital Library and Historypin. Newly processed collections include the records of the Christopher Street West LGBTQ pride organization, the photographs of Miles Everitt, who strongly influenced the work of Robert Mapplethorpe, and photographs, invitations, and other materials from the 2006 wedding of Melissa Lopez and Teresa Wang. The USC Libraries bid anonymously to surprise longtime supporters and founders of the libraries&#39; Cassady Lewis Caroll Collection, Dr. George Cassady and his wife Linda.
