Eastin Hotel : A Weekend Escapade

My elder boy, he takes after me. I love staying in hotels and so does he. Thus when I told him that we are going for a weekend escapade at a hotel nearby, he jumped and completed all his homework without any fuss! So where then did we go (ppsstt...if you didnt read the subject of this post LOL). Yep that's right, we went to Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya, a landmark that I passed by daily in my commute to work.

Eastin Hotel has been around for 12 years! Did you know this fact? It is also strategically located in the burgeoning commercial business district of Phileo Damansara. Refurbishment took place in stages starting with the F&B outlets and the last phase was the refurbishment of all their 388 rooms. So yes I got to stay in a brand "new" room! woo-hoo!! :))

Before we check-in to get our keys, we lounge around at The Lounge for some tea. Their onde-onde was oozing with gula melaka when you bite on it. Love their cekodok too...As the weather was hot, I opted for a fresh glass of orange juice. Need the Vitamin C :))

Obtained our "key" which is a card. It only takes me to the floor my room is located. Good security so no outsiders are left to roam about on the floors. From the outside, I couldn't tell how big is the room so when I step in, I went W.O.W. This is the Eastin Family Deluxe Room which is a 2 bedroom suite with separate lounge and seating areas. There's also a large bathroom with separate shower and walk-in wardrobe.

Can't help but to take a panaromic view of it :p The first room I saw consists of 2 single bed and the other is the master bedroom which has a King size bed and a large bathroom which comes with a long bath tub!! Can go rub a dub dub already whheeee....

Lounge and seating area equ is equipped with TV and this area comes with an attached toilet. No more fights for the TV for the kiddos can settle themselves comfortably outside here while their parents (means US) can enjoy our movie in the master bedroom.

Coffee and tea making facilities is also available for you to make yourself that perfect cuppa. I love this space for I can place Caden's tin of milk, bottles and such for his milky siesta, not to say boiling hot water in just a few secs.

The bedroom where both Cavan and Caden enjoyed themselves tucking in deeply under the covers. Whole bed to themselves! who wouldn't love it right?

And this is my room for that weekend with attached bathroom which is spacious and where the long bath tub is situated.

Did you noticed beside the bed there's something protuding there? That's a bed light. Love it for you can do reading while your partner is sleeping without disturbing them. Best part is that light is adjustable thus you can adjust it to your comfort. If you need do so some serious work, a study table is available as well. Wifi is provided in room on complimentary basis yay! :D

Back to the bathroom, how can I forget this for it's bigger than the one I have back home @.@ hehehe.... Everytime I checked into a hotel, the first thing I check out is the bathroom. A habit I cant kick off for I love spacious bathroom.

As with all hotels, basic amenities is there for you to use if you didn't or forgot to bring your own.

The long bath tub where I spent my time soaking myself releasing tension with a green view to boot. A little birdy paid me a visit while I was soaking there, how nice right.

Also in the master bedroom is a small walk in wardrobe. Ironing board and safe deposit is there for your usage.

After checking out the entire room, we also checked out Eastin Hotel's facilities. The first is of course the swimming pool, for the kiddos can't wait to play water.

Near the pool there's a gymnasium available for the fitness buff. I was informed that Eastin Hotel is going to refurbish their gym so I believe the new gym will be more awesome.

The rest of our day was spent at the pool where the kiddos played till their heart content. You think having a weekend retreat at Eastin Hotel smack right in the heart of a business centre boring? I tell you it's not for I didn't even realised I'm in the city. The kids had a gala time at the pool and me a relaxing time right in the hotel room in the long bath tub!!

A perfect weekend getaway for me and my family. Save distance, save driving and save petrol. I had my dinner that night and breakfast the next day in the hotel itself which I'll share in the coming posts. The Japanese dinner was awesome <3 <3 I hugged my tummy back to my room that night full of goodness in it hahahaha..... Stay tuned!

Ooh before I end this post, little nitty gritty stuff that hotels does goes a long way in sustaining their clients. What did Eastin do? I have a platter of fresh fruit and a red velvet cupcake waiting for me when I first step foot inside.

I felt warm with this welcome and it did not stop there for towards the evening when they turned down the bed, I returned to my room and saw this box of truffles waiting by the bedside. What a delight and a sweet surprise! <3

Eastin Hotel has four room categories starting from their Deluxe, Executive Deluxe, Eastin Deluxe to Eastin Family Deluxe. Rack rate starts from RM600++ a night to RM900++.

Macau Tower & City of Dreams

Continuing our holiday in Macau, Day 2 sees us boarding our hotel's free shuttle to Macau's Tower. By the way, there's lot of free shuttle provided by the hotels. So transport is easy and you can always ask for directions. The staff at Hotel Macau was friendly and accommodating in explaining the way to us.

We didn't purchase any tickets up to the Tower. Instead, we roamed the base, took some pictures before boarding the shuttle available from the Tower to the City of Dreams.

Pretty gloomy huh the sky. It was cold and wind was blowing quite strong that day. Nice view of one of the bridge. Look up behind me and it is the Macau Tower.

Macau Tower soars 338 metres above the city and dominates the skyline. Im pretty sure it offers a breathtaking view of the Macau cityscape, maybe China and even Hong Kong on a bright sunny clear day. There's bungee jump available for those who is brave enough, definitely not me!

While waiting for the shuttle to arrive (very on time, I loike), saw this sculpture at the side of the main building.

A short ride later, we arrived at a concrete city better known as the City of Dreams. My first impression when I arrived here was WOAH, so many buildings all in different shapes and size outdoing each other!!

The shuttle dropped us at one of the many many entrances and we were greeted by a mermaid <3 She appeared on one side, disaapeared and reappeared on another side. Cavan was pretty fascinated by it :D

We stroll through the walkway and I came across this ferocious dragon right in front of one of the casino's entrance. It's a beauty if you look closer.

After walking a bit aimlessly inside for I'm not interested in casino nor branded shopping, we headed outside to cross the road to visit The Venetian, another famous must take photo here when you're in Macau hehehe....

Everywhere you turn the building's architecture is different. If you're really into architecture, this is a great place to explore for each hotel built theirs differently, like in a theme park just that these houses accommodation and casino is the game of the day.

Very detailed figurines can be spotted on the facets of the buildings. This is just one of the many many spotted there.

You know you have entered the right building for when you stepped in, you'll see this greeting you. Look up and the ceiling is so so so beautiful!!

I nearly had a neck strained and bump into others coz I was walking with my head turned upwards admiring the lovely ceiling :p

And then we arrived in Venice! voila it's just a walking distance :p

Lovely blue sky with dainty shops lining the sides. Such romantic atmosphere. Take it further by taking a ride on the gondola with live singing by the gondola drivers.

Not wanting to waste any time further, we decided to head over to Taipa for lunch and to explore more of Macau.

Got lost trying to figure out the exit. Finally before we left, I managed to take a pic of the casino when I was at the elevator going down. So here you go another view of casino, this time the "inside view".

The Salad Bar : Simply Healthy

When someone mention SALAD what comes to your mind? Only green leafs or something more?? I used to conjure the image of green leafs alone but not anymore now for Salad has evolved to be as "exciting" as any other dishes. You just gotta use your imagination! :D

The Salad Bar located at upbeat Damansara Utama is one that you must visit if you think that having Salad alone is boring.

Interior of The Salad Bar @ Damansara Utama eludes freshness for the walls are painted green and orange. Colour plays an important part and I must say that these two colours suits The Salad Bar beautifully. Check out those knife, fork and spoon mirrors.

The bar where your salads are tossed before your eyes. There's various salad leafs (local produce), toppings and dressings available (9 types!!). You just have to decide and choose your choice.

I started my meal with a freshly squeezed orange juice. The Juice & Smoothies Bar is located outside the shop and the first that you'll see before entering The Salad Bar. There's other juices available but good ol' orange is still the no. 1 drink I order if I want a juice anywhere anytime of the day.

Soup of the day (RM3.90) was served and it was Brocolli soup. The broth is thick for it's the main ingredients is brocolli and potato puree. It a comfort food whenever I have such warm bowl of soup on a cold night. A great way to ensure I have all the sufficient nutrients of greens in me >.<

Platters of salad came soon after and you'll get my drift when I say Salad has evolved to be "exciting" dishes. Let's roll now....

Old Granny's Caeser Salad. Unlike your usual caesar salad, this is a complete meal to me for it has veggies, meat and cheese. So we are not talking about having only veggies alone here....

Next the R.E.D. Salad. As the name indicated RED, it's red stuff we see here. All things orangey red can be found here. I find this salad a bit to the sweet side but it's nice.

High Energy Superman Salad. After you finish this, you'll become a Superman!! hehehehe..... If you want more punch to your salad, opt for this for it has more carbs and protein. Topped with wheat flakes, it surely make you fly :p

This is my favourite salad that night - Spicy Salad! Give me anything spicy anytime and I'll be sure to love it. Topped with sunflower seeds and bits of terriyaki chicken, this is a must order for me next time I pay The Salad Bar a visit. I love the spicy vinegar dressing. The sourish spicy dressing is a real appetizer opener for me.

For fruit lovers, you can opt to have this - Tropical Fruit Salad. It's a delightful platter to dig into for you find an assortment of fruits in between the veggies. Simply delightful :)

All the salads are served in two sizes, the FULL size at RM11.90 or HALF size at RM6.90. All the above salads you saw is the FULL size.

Alright for those who really really just cannot have a platter of salad and say full, The Salad Bar serves pastas as well which are cooked upon order so you are guaranteed you'll get freshly cook pastas. All Pasta are priced at RM7.90.

Tomato Pasta. Dont be deceived seeing that it's all plain only with tomato for one mouthful and I'm sold. It's flavourful for it contains basil, carrot and onion. A great pasta for kids and adult alike.

If you want something more omph, go for Spicy Chicken Pasta. However, I found this dish a bit sweet rather than spicy? Could be the sauce used tho...nevertheless it's another option that you can try out.

Chili Mushroom Pasta. My favourite besides the Tomato Pasta. Mushroom my favourite plus chili another favourite of mine and yep! this is definitely for me.

If you find pastas a bit too much, go for Club Sandwich (RM8.90). Layered with chef's special sauce and served with a small bowl of salad, it's a complete meal.

Find that you dont want to have bread, then go for Hugo Special Tortilla Wrap (RM9.90). Told ya there's a lot of choices here and not only limit to salad alone.

And to end off your meal, there's Homemade Yogurt (RM4.50) with your choice of toppings. And ooh, see those yellowish thing in between the yogurt? It's actually honey.

So now who says that only having salad cannot give you a satisfied meal where you can pat your tummy and say I'm full?

I always love a good facial for it can really relaxes your face and mind. I can just shut off and doze away while the therapist work their wonders on me. Just recently I went to Skintalk Face.Body Wellness located at Aman Suria to try out their facial.

As usual therapist would need to conduct a one on one consultation to understand your skin better before treatment begins. As it is my first time here, I was given a form to fill up before the therapist came to ask further questions.

After looking at my skin, I was recommended to go for their Reversal Diamond Mineriotheraphy Treatment. I was then ushered in to keep my belongings in one of the lockers and to change before treatment begins.

I'm ready for my facial to be "diamond-fied" hehehehe..... One look at the treatment bed and I can't wait to snooze!!

My therapist Jessie was good for she made sure that I'm comfortable throughout the treatment. The Diamond Mineriotheraphy Facial that I had as the name suggested, contains minerals. The treatment was formulated with Diamond and Platinum and it allows anti degenerative minerals to be delivered to regulate cellular functions, reinforce skin resilience and restore skin luminosity. The end results is that you'll have youthful radiance that mimics the effect of light bouncing off a diamond thus the name Diamond Mineriotheraphy :))

Have you visited Jarrod & Rawlins before? A recent invite to their new outlet launch brought me there so I'm no longer a "newbie" now.

One of Kuala Lumpur's favourite restaurant pub, Jarrod & Rawlins opens its third branch in upscale Bangsar neighbourhood. Located along tranquil and cosy strip of Jalan Bangkung, Jarrod & Rawlins Bangkung is modelled after a modern British gastro pub serving wholesome and hearty food in a smart yet inviting environment suitable for all occassions be it a private party or a business luncheon.

Upon entry elegant sage green walls with comfy booths and large mirrors just invited me to make myself comfortable by settling down with a glass of wine and enjoy the night away with drinks, good food and great company!

We were treated to canapes that night and even though it's bite size, the goodness of the food can be tasted. I can just imagine the wonders of having a full serving all by myself! :p

As with other Jarrod & Rawlins branches, J&R Bangkung is the perfect foodie destination. The menu features J&R's all time favourite sausages, hearty sandwiches and gourmet burgers along with satisfying pastas and well like pub classics. Due to space constraints, the popular Jarrod & Rawlins delicatessen is not a feature at Jalan Bangkung's branch but fret not for it is easily found in its neighbouring branch in Damansara Heights and in their branch in Ampwalk.

There's free flow of red wine, white wine, beer and guinness draft during the launch. My pick for that night is white wine, my favourite over red. Although I love guinness draft as well, wine would still be my choice *wink* *wink*

I must say that I love the "Full Works", Breaded Pork Schnitzel & Onion Relish with Apple Sauce and Grilled Prime Tenderloin & Horseradish Chive Butter a lot. I also challenged myself to try the Watermelon & Feta with Mint Salsa. Am surprised by the taste of sweet and salty which is quite unusual but nice.

Another two that I would like to mention is the Chili Con Carne and Dynamite Chili Pizza. Being a spicy food lover, I love these two to bits!!

Chili Con Carne - looks simple but dont be deceived for one mouth and I'm hooked. Kept going back for more. Cant stop! just cant stop.... for it's spicy enough to perk me up and the warmed con carne with meat and beans just warm me up. It eludes comfort and coziness for me...

I had a slice of this and went "WOW" but alas it was all gone in a jiffy. It's also spicy as the name dynamite chili suggested but not overly spicy till you can't feel your tongue. Addictive. I think I can just finish it all up myself.

Jarrod & Rawlins with it's fine selection of quality wine, champagne, whiskey and beer, you are guaranteed to have a complete and memorable dining experience. With this recent addition of J&R Bangkung in Bangsar, Jarrod & Rawlins now has branches in prime locations across Kuala Lumpur and one in Kota Kinabalu.

Now for me to hint to hubby to bring me here again. For my coming birthday maybe?? I hope you are reading this :p

The Mix @ Holiday Inn Glenmarie

I was invited to The Mix @ Holiday Inn Glenmarie to attend their CEO's night. Am not anywhere near a CEO level but it was a great place to be amongst all the rich and famous! Who knows whose shoulder I rub well with eh? ^.^

Before the crowd started coming in, I went round and managed to snap some of the goodies prepared for the very high level people in the corporate world. The Mix was decorated beautifully with the stage all prepared for what lies ahead for da nite.

It was my 1st time in The Mix although I'm not a stranger at Holiday Inn Glenmarie. I was there recently for some launch and attended a training by my Company some years back. But it's The Mix that I've not stepped foot in before.

Canapes and some great food was served throughout the night. Let the drooling starts!

There's a station set-up near the entrance where fresh mussels can be seen. It's called the Bonchot Mussel - mussels with vegetables saffron and mustard cream sauce cooked before you.

I also spotted something I like - Grilled Stuffed Quail with mushroom. There's also New Orleans Crayfish Beiguets, Kohitsuji-Niji No Sumibi Yaki Charcoal-boiled Lamb Chops. Okay okay the names are a mouthful, in short, there's quail, crayfish and lamb :p All as yummy as their names [yes! I tried it :))]

There's more items on the other side of the place where you'll find petite canapes are laid out. There's the Red & White Gazpacho with Fresh Vegetables en Brochette and Ike Dako No Butsu Giri - Octopus Sasimi.

The Sesame Coated Green Asparagus was nice to munch on. Gonna try it at home one fine day and see if it turns out the same way @.@. There's also Quinoa with Mango and Curried Yogurt, Hokkai Gamo To Ringo No Rosuto - Roasted North Sea Duck and Apple which was beautifully decorated and Crab Meat with Spciy Aioli and Cheese.

For the sweet tooth, there dessert as well which ranges from Banana Chocolate and Mint Samaso, Spiced Apple and Cranberry Compote with Yogurt and Cinnamon, Jellie Citrus Fruit, Red Rubbies and Banana in Coconut Milk to Assorted Chocolate Praline <3 <3 <3

The CEO nite started with an impressive magic show. Someone name me this hunky magician... It's Dr. Moudini in the house that night.

He's so good that I think my eyes is having problem. Each time I'm in a magic show, I tend to keep a look out on their tricks heheehe....they just move so fast and fluid that it's hard to detect!!

After a spectacular magical show, we were treated to feast our eyes on beauties. We had the Miss Kebaya Johor parading on the short runway.

All very lenglui, slim, fit and young! Check out those kebayas, intricately design. It just amazes me how well the kebayas are. One lil bit of fat and you had it for kebayas are tight fighted and made of tender material. You would not want to risk hearing a tear sound when you bend or something like that :p

Lovely song were sang by a live band thereafter. Love their Bruno Mars - It Will Rain song. Well sang and with the lights illuminating all over, it's almost surreal!

Not only we had a live band perfoming lovely songs for us, Miss Cheongsam 2012 also performed a number she wrote herself. She is only 19 years old *gasp*.
note : I recorded her singing but am having problem loading it up at YouTube!! :(( will try again and load it here if I managed to figure what's wrong with the video ggrrr.....

We then had another round of fashion parade by the Miss Kebaya Johor. This time they were in their sports attire adorning jewelleries by Kelvin Gems.

As a wrap up for the night, Kelvin Gems gave out a token of appreciation to each Ms Kebaya Johor and we saw Adrian Loh doing a short cat walk before guests were left to mingle and enjoy the night away catching up with lovely songs sang at the back.

Thanks to The Mix for this wonderful experience. I myself bade goodbye and went home smiling.... :D Made a mental note for hub to bring me here again for the food is delish! and it's a great place to chill out...

Ruins of St Paul @ Macau

One must take a customary photo when you are in Macau. There's no need a caption at all, one look at your picture and people will know where you are. It's non other than the famous Ruins of St Paul! The second part in Senado Square saw us trekking up the path that led to this famous stone facade.

As we walked past by the shops that lined both sides of the narrow streets, I noticed that there's a lot of shops selling cookies, dry meat and souvenirs. They offer you real size samples as well :)) This shall be kept for another post later.

I'm limiting my words for this post for a picture speaks a thousand words :D

From above back facade, the place has been beautified. Walk towards the end, go down the staircase and visit the restored crypt containing relics of Christian martyrs.

After spending some time at Ruins of St Paul, we went into Camoes Garden. As the weather was cooling when we were there, it was a nice walk. We spotted a place to take more photos of Ruins of St Paul.

Old folks were seen "lepaking" at the garden. It's fresh air here, no smoke whatsoever. Beautifully landscaped and taken care off, not a rubbish in sight.

We proceeded further to Mount Fortress. It was build for the added purpose of defending the city from possible attacks which explained why canons were spotted here.

A short walk up and we were at the peak and we saw Museum of Macau which housed a range of exhibits that illustrate Macau's bi-cultural history.

Outside the museum I spotted this lovely lotus flower in bluish purple! A pretty sight <3

From the top, it offers a splendid view of the city. Lots of concrete, packed city!

Later that day after our dinner around Senado Square area, we explored further other parts of the road, followed the blinking lights to Asia's Las Vegas!

These are the only close-up shots of Casinos that I took. Didn't entered a single one at all. Casino area is bustling with activities and people going in and out. After a few snaps here we went back to our hotel and Day 1 ended.

Before I end this post, two more shots of Ruins of St Paul (yea, I cant stop snapping here). Am intrigue by the architecture. It survived a fire which burned almost all of it except the current standing facade and staircase in 1835. How many many years or centuries since then? My grandparents were not even born yet and yet here I am here in Macau standing and touching and capturing my experience here so many centuries later.

Another reason for these 2 shots is if you noticed, there's blue sky compared to those posted earlier. These 2 were taken on the last day (yea yea as I said, I loved it here! <3) before I headed back home. The first 3 days we were in Macau the weather was cold no sunshine. Have you heard of this place - The Scott Garden at Old Klang Road (Jalan Klang Lama)? I recently went there and is surprised for this place is so "happening"! The reason for my visit to The Scott Garden is to indulge in healthy organic dinner at Chef Lim Kitchen :))

Upon entry the scene that greeted me was spacious, white and clean! The interior eludes cleaniness with white furnishings, simple and modern concept that is spacious. It's easy to walk around in here and emits the cozy envinroment.

When I hear the word organic or vegetarian, I usually don't expect much but Chef Lim Organic Kitchen gave me a surprised for I didnt even feel as tho I was having purely vegetarian stuff!! Let me show you what I had that beautiful Friday night. We started with a nice drink which I'm still thinking off now...

Fruits Tea @ RM14.90/RM17.90

Fruits Tea - a delicious mixture of red & green apple, mango, passion fruit, honey and orange juice infused with tea. This has become my "must order" when I return for I just love the tangy taste. The flavours just burst and tantalises my taste buds. Thumbs up!

Crystal Jade Roll @ RM14.90/RM18.90

We started off with appetizer. I found the roll a bit hard but it's nice once you bite into it and chew. A great snack to have and you can give your mouth some exercise :p It's made of deep fried "tau kan" wrapped with seaweed.

Yam Ring Basket @ RM18.90

The yam is soft and smooth for it's home made paste! How awesome :) Alas I only managed to try a bit of it and can't go for second helping as it was gone in a jiffy. See everyone is so hungry!

Coconut Tom Yam @ RM17.90

When I first saw this bowl of tom yam, it didnt occur to me how well it would taste like for I still like to have my tom yam at authentic thai restaurant. I was proven wrong with the first sip I took. It was amazing! The soup is full of tom yam flavour, not too heavily coated with coconut at all. Hubby can't stop drinking this soup hehehe....

Shitake Mushroom Stew Herbal @ RM14.90/RM18.90

Fungi aka mushrooms - my love. I'm a fungi person. Give me any type of fungi and I just eat it. So when I saw this wok of Shitake Mushroom, I had huge helpings of it *paiseh* Herbal? Don't worry for those who dont like herbal stuff for I didnt taste anything too "herbal" at all. There's gory beji and red dates in it which is beneficial to the body.

Kapitan Fish @ RM14.90/RM18.90

I ate before Kapitan Chicken but not Kapitan Fish. See the gravy then must have it to go with rice. Chef Lim Organic Kitchen serves brown rice. I dont eat brown rice at home for I'm afraid of the coarse texture. When I was presented with the brown rice here, I dribbled the kapitan fish sauce over it and it was yumz! The rice and gravy goes well together and I can't stop adding more gravy to my rice >.< The sauce which I found out later has yogurt in it. What a new way to eat yogurt.

The only setback I found is the fish "meat" which is made out of "fu zuk and fu pei". Hhmmm... although I know it's vegetarian but I'm still a bit tad disaapointment with the texture.

Let's see the next dish I love which is another fungi feature.

Basil Leaf Mushroom @ RM13.90/RM17.90

If you like basil, you love this dish. Basil leaf brings out the full flavour and I enjoyed eating this. Nom nom nom.... When I thought that was the last of any fungi (who can resist fresh shimeji and whole button mushroom eh..) I'll be seeing in a dish that night, out came this @.@

Lo Han Chai @ RM15.90/RM19.90

Those broccolli and cauliflower is so fresh and sweet. Chef Lim Organic Kitchen only serves fresh vegetables delivered daily to their outlet. So you get nice crispy fresh veggies on your platter. And of course I love those mushrooms and bean curd in there.

When I thought we had reached the last dish, out came this and at first we all thought it was lasagne. We were served lasagne in an organic and vegetarian restaurant? hhhmmm.... Thus the curious us decided to "break" it open and we was surprised that it was actually cheese baked rice!

Mixed Vege Baked Rice @RM14.90

I dont have to tell you much on the cheese. You can see for yourself just how chewy it is. It's also yummy too. Very creamy and cheesy. We were then surprised when we were served another cheesy dish, the Fruit Pizza. Yes you read it right, FRUIT another love of mine.

Fruit Pizza @RM19.90

The pizza is thin crust covered entirely by cheese *yumz* with strawberries as it's topping. A unique pizza! First time I ate a fruit pizza. Eat it warm and the cheese just oozes out. Comfort food <3 The taste of this really plays with your tastebuds for it's salty, sweet and just a bit soury, a 3in1 taste! What a way to test your tastebuds! :p

We ended our meal with various pudding. We had the Mango, Coconut and Passion Fruit Pudding.

My vote goes to 1st - Passion Fruit Pudding followed by 2nd - Mango Pudding. It looks like taufufah but it's not coz its pudding thus the texture is not as soft as taufufah but closer to jelly but not that hard.

Throughout the dinner we drank Feel Good Tea besides the opener Fruits Tea. Feel Good Tea is a mixture of ginseng (yong sam sau), ting fa chou, crysthanamum and xiong chi. It's a good tea to cleanse yourself. So did I felt any good after consuming this tea? You bet I did! I felt good right till the next day! :p

There will definitely be a revisit to Chef Lim Organic Kitchen for there are so may other dishes that I want to try out. If you noticed, I had Chinese, Thai and Western all in a night!

I walked out of Chef Lim Organic Kitchen without realising that what I just savoured was organic and vegetarian for everything is so simple yet tasty!

Cellnique Nutraceutical Beauty Drink Launch

Remember my previous post on my aim towards a Firmer + Bouncier + Radiance Skin? Well I was invited towards end of March 2012 to attend the official launch of Cellnique Nutraceutical Beauty Drink - Amino Collagen C Essence.

The launch was held in Holiday Inn Glenmarie and it was attended by Cellnique's staff and business partners. I understand that earlier part of the day before the launch, they had some trainings on "Who Moved My Cheese".

The launch started by a beautiful lady greeting all of us there. Pretty ain't she? I believe she's a lady DJ of whom I forgotten her name (so sorry!!)

The founder, Mr Chew Wai Ming then gave a short presentation of how Cellnique started and where it is now. I was impressed with Mr Chew's skin!! Smooootttthhhh :))

Cellnique's product is formulated in Taiwan, in a lab which is the 2nd largest in Taiwan.

After the short presentation the launch started with two hooded man coming on stage and thereafter a mysterious lady carrying a pearl in to present it to Mr Chew. It eludes mystery...

The big pearl was then drop into box and the launch ended with big bang of confetti and we were presented with graceful ballet dancers.

There's no minimum age as to who can start consuming this drink although for better results, Mr Chew recommended one to start drinking at the age of 25 years old and above.

It's not a magical drink where you drink today and tomorrow you'll get super firm, bouncy and radiant skin. It takes time. If you take one now and stop a few days later, your skin condition goes back to square one! Maintenance is key word here.

Senado Square @ Macau

Continuing from my recent Macau's trip, I'll be introducing some of the places of interest that we went. First will be Macau's Senado Square. If you go to Macau and have not stepped foot into this place, you have not visited Macau.

Senado Square has been Macau's urban center for centuries and it is still the most popular place for public events and celebrations today. If you're lost (will you ever??), just ask for direction to Senado Square and I'll bet all bearings come back to you when you're back at the square! :))

Senado Square became our daily evening visit for dinner after a day's out sight-seeing in other parts of Macau.

Narrow roads with bustling shops on both sides heading in to the heart of the square.

Arrived at a juncture where there's road branching off into different directions. Here you'll see the crowd. I noted that it's always crowded and mind you this is a working weekday! Weekends is horrible for you can't see the road but only bobbing heads!! @.@

If you're unsure where to branch off, fret not for there's signages available :)

Spot that yellow building at the back? It's St Joseph's Church.

St Joseph Church was completed in 1758 and went thru two renovations between 1953 and 2001. We can enter the ground floor to view the church's interior but was not allowed to go to upper floors. It's spacious and cooling inside.

We opted to scout around the area before heading to Ruins of St Paul. We ended at what I believe is the heart of Senado Square. Look up and I'm amazed at all the tall buildings surrounding me. Gave me the feel that I'm inside a little box! LOL

Senado Square is surrounded by pastel coloured neo-classical buildings. It creates a harmonious Mediterranean atmosphere.

Close to the fountain is the Holy House of Mercy. Marked as one of Macau's World Heritage site, the Holy House of Mercy was established by the first Bishop of Macau in 1569.

We ventured into one of the lanes and ended up at Sam Kai Vun Kun Temple. This temple was originally a guild house of the three streets (sam kai) association - Rua dos Mercadores, Rua dos Ervanarios and Rua das Estalagens. As it no longer function as a guild house association, it is now used as Kuan Tai temple.

With this we covered one part of Senado Square. The other part see us heading to the Ruins of St Paul, another famous landmark of Macau.

FoodPanda - new concept of online food ordering

Recently I got to know about a new concept in ordering online food. Well online ordering is not totally new for there's pizza and burger delivery available for quite sometime now. The new concept that I'm talking about here is being able to select from a list of restaurants and viewing their menu and then placing your order!

How cool can this be? You get to see a list of restaurants before placing your order. It's really a spoil for choice I would say! Traditionally, you would have to "crack your head" thinking of the restaurants that is available nearby your area, questioning whether they do delivery and then go into each restaurant site (if it's available!) to check out the menus available. Now there's no need to waste such precious time when you're hungry.

Enough said. What is it then? It's none other than a cute panda serving you :p hehehehe.....

It is actually foodpanda malaysia. What you need to do is head on to foodpanda site, key in your area code and a list of restaurants which is in foodpanda's network will be listed for you. Choose the cuisine of your choice, view the menu and start placing your order. An SMS will be sent to you confirming your order and delivery time. Once this is done, you just need to prepare the monies, sit back, relax and wait for your doorbell to ring and you'll get hot piping food delivered right to your doorstep without a sweat! :p

I must say that I find this totally convenient for me in my line of work as well. Each time there's an event in my Company and we have to cater lunch in-house, I'll be cracking my head to think of restaurants or what to order. With this, I can just sit at my desk, do a few clicks and get it delivered right to the doorstep. What a hassle free and convenient way to order food online :p

Game to give it a try? I definitely will.... a great way to make a good impression too when you have visitors around and you can present it ala professional way! :))

Cinnamon Coffee House - a scrumptious weekend hi-tea

Two weekends ago, I revisited Cinnamon Coffee House in One World Hotel. It still amazes me with it wide varieties of food. Sometimes I just don't know how to stuff all those food in! I just want to try everything out, dont you when you're at a hi-tea? I do!! :D

Just looking at the appetisers made me drool. I dont know which to take but the one on the top left is a MUST! I just love this cutey small squid. My must order each time I'm at a Japanese outlet. If you're into cheese, you'll be hopping with joy for there's cheese aplenty and just walking pass it, I'll get the cheese whiff. There's crackers for you to go with your favourite cheese. Take your pick or just try each one!

Then there's an array of main dishes for those who like rice and dishes. Pretty heavy stuff for a weekend hi-tea but hey Cinnamon Coffee House's Hi-Tea starts at 12 noon and ends at 4.30pm. So you can go and have your lunch and munch your way to tea time and savour their dessert which I'll show you later.

Let's move on to what my eye catches on. There's so many offering here over 200!! Can you imagine if I were to post all 200 of the food Cinnamon Coffee House has to offer? I think not only you skip this post, I'll give up editing the pics mid way hehehe....

Ooh my roaming eyes spotted our Nation's favourite dish be it night or day, this can be savoured and love by everyone from young to old. It's non other NASI LEMAK! There's two choices of rice, the normal coconut flavoured and the other coconut flavoured with pandan. You can then start to pick your choice of condiments to go with your nasi lemak. Again there's so much to choose, I think by the time I pick each one a small portion, my whole platter is full to the brim :))

For those who prefer noodle or something lighter, there's always the noodle station and yong tau foo. Spot the chef inside there? Cinnamon Coffee House has live-cooking stations! Whee, not only you get your food straight from the wok, you get to interact with the chefts as well. How cool is this?

There's stay grilled before you and I spotted otak-otak! Another favourite of mine. I can have dozens of these!

Still thinking about the small cute squid I had, I wanted some Japanese flavour and headed where else but the sushi counter. I ordered a hand roll made especially for me right in front of my eyes. Besides it, there's a counter for you to create your own sandwich.

Aiks, I forgot to show you the beautifully mixed Caesar Salad by the chef himself. Here you go...

Just looking at it make you want to just go and have it right? Let's wheeze back to those live cooking stations. Here's the pasta chef cooking up pasta after pasta. Your choice of pasta and ingredients.

I also tried out their porridge. I'm a porridge lover and for the chef to cook a hot bowl of porridge on the spot is bliss. You wont be afraid of the porridge being cold or too watery after endless scoop by other guests there. Best of all, I get to pick my own ingredients :D

Alright now I present to you the STAR of the day (well for me at least), the Whole Roasted Lamb!

It's marinated with a special sauce and me being a non lamb eater EATS this!! It's yummy and the accompanying dishes that goes with it is a must have when you dine at Cinnamon Coffee House.

I also spotted lamb sausages and wedges. Enticing inviting, just had to tried it all!

Now, let's move on to desserts. Happy food :D

There's assortment of breads, cakes, tarts and then I spotted apam balik. This is the second time I spotted apam balik in a hotel! Really bring back childhood memories when I see this for I used to buy them from the night market when I was younger.

Kids will surely go for the chocolate fondue fountain. Me, I go for ice-cream and fruits anytime! There's taufufah as well if you want to be healthy and have your soy intake! :p

Cinnamon Coffee House boasting more than 200 varieties is a place that you can dine at with your friends for at the side, there's an area for your kids to play on at the inflatables area.

The weekend hi-tea is available every Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday from 12noon to 4.30pm. Weekend rates are priced at RM63++ (adult) and RM32++ (child). QQ SnowMix @ Bandar Puteri Puchong

Taiwanese dessert has been mushrooming all over KL nowadays. Wherever I go, I'll sure see some sort or other of Taiwanese dessert. Bandar Puteri Puchong to me has lots of delicious food to offer and a few weekends back, am fortunate to be able to try out bowl after bowls of these Taiwanese dessert at QQ SnowMix. It's good to be in a big group for you get to taste a lot of varieties! :)

Let's start the drool shall we? :p

Soft jelly that just smooths it's way down my throat hehehehe....Im a fan of grass jelly thus I like this bowl for it helps me to cool down my body internal heat. Those taro and sweet potato balls are a delight to chew on for it's not too hard nor too soft. Just nice for me to have some mouth exercise.

We also tried the Taro Ice Series. The yellowish thingy you see if pudding like. Not bad at all. But there's more so let's see further before I decide on my favourite.

When I think of soya, soya bean drink always comes to mind. But this is the Soya Ice Series at QQ SnowMix and one spoon into my mouth, the soya exploded all over. Love this for it's not ice that I'm tasting but soya. I get to taste real soya!

Then we were presented with this tower ice style QQ Taro Ice Series. Assorted toppings for you to choose which part you want to delve in first?

As with large group, some may prefer something lighter and fret not for QQ SnowMix provides for it. Here we tasted Sea Amber Jelly. You just gotta love the name ~ Sea Amber. It eludes mystery to me :))

Full but want dessert nontheless? Then go for Lemon Jade Jelly Ice. Soury base, it's sure to help digestion at the same time cooling you down.

Some old folks dislike cold stuff, so we also get to try hot based dessert.

Not your usual douhua, this is served with toppings. I still prefer the cold series douhua ~ the Soya Ice Series.

QQ SnowMix also serve my favourite black sesame. This however is mixed with Matcha (green tea). Stir them together and you get the above. You get to chew on those taro and sweet potato balls while you savour this bowl of black and green dessert @.@

Remember the smooth grass jelly I mentioned above, well this is in liquid form. They have Taiwan Grass Jelly Soup.

In between all those bowls of dessert, we also ate snacks :))

We had Tempura, Fried Chicken in bite sizes and Sweet Potato Sticks. If you find these not "filling" enough, you should try their Egg Rolls.

Popiah but the skin is of egg with either chicken or sausage filling. Something unique I say.

With all the above, we need drinks to wash it all in and just look at our Tower of Drinks. I believe we ordered all the best seller drinks QQ SnowMix has to offer!

Before I end this post, I wanted to show you this Taipei Big Big Bowl which you can opt to have. Instead of ordering single bowls, why not order a Big Bowl where you can have everything? Best of all this Taipei Big Big Bowl is suitable for sharing between 3 - 4 person.

Chatz Brasserie delectable Hawker A-Fair

Do you like Hawker Food? I love it very much. When I learnt that Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur's Chatz Brasserie is serving delectable local hawker fare, I wait no more and headed there to try it out!

As with all buffet, you'll find the salad bar. So many choices so hard to choose! All of 'em is inviting me to try and when I saw the sauces and all those ulam-ulam, I'll just go gaga over them for they have cincalok too \@.@/. I wonder if foreigners dare try it? hehehehe....

There's Lola Rosa, Romaine Lettuce, Orange Seafood Salad, Pasta Salad to Cold Cuts. Just the name itself sounds appetizing!

Then I spotted the ice display and kept my eyes OPEN to see what's there and I saw scallops. FRESH SCALLOPS!! My ohh my this is going to be a feast. I love fresh scallops besides oysters. Too bad I didnt spot any oysters but there's poached mussels which is equally good for usually I find mussles to be a tad too tough but that night when I bite on it, it was all tender. Ooh there's Mr Crab as well :)

Then I walk to the other aisle and spotted these dishes. I shall let the photos do the "talking" today :))

While waiting for your order to be dished up straight from the wok (yea you read this right, hawker dishes are freshly MADE TO ORDER!), you can start filling your tummy with Enche Kabin Fried Chicken, Daging Paprik Siam, Chinese Baby Kale, Clams in Oyster Sauce, Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Seafood, Roasted Lamb with Garlic Rosemary Sauce and Mexican Baked Fish.

Don't get carried away with all those food for you want to leave space in your tummy for your orders remember? Let's start!!

We then savoured Oyster Omelette, another favourite of mine! I found this not too dry nor too wet. I wont mind if the starch is lessen a bit and more egg is added instead.

There's also fried popiah or popiah basah for those who like freshly rolled popiah and satays.

Spotted the Noodle Soup Stall and I ordered a bowl of Prawn Mee. The only Prawn Mee that I eat is in Penang for I find it difficult to find a good bowl of Prawn Mee. Decided to give this a try and.....

I love it! It's yummy full of prawn flavour in the soup! Thumbs up! :))

Then there were talks that the roasted duck is a must try. So ordered it and wow wow...

It's really good. Tender juicy flesh and aromatic too. Another must try if you are in Chatz Brasserie!

I ended my Hawker delights by having a bowl of Sup Tulang. Just can't resist having a warm bowl of this. It is like a comfort food to me to warm my tummy. Full of spices thus it is tremendously aromatic. Besides Sup Tulang, there's Sup Kambing and Soto Ayam. You can have this with your rice or hard rolls.

Before I can start savouring desserts, I was presented with a plate of Yong Tau Foo. Packed to the brim with fish paste, it's just too good to miss this.

Desserts finally came and by this time, I'm stuffed thus I choosed my desserts with care.

Being a durian and green bean soup lover, I opted for Bubur Kacing Hijau Durian. Heavy but yummy stuff. If you fancy something lighter and more cooling to the mouth, you can DIY your own Ice Kacang with an assortment of condiments for you to choose.

Cake lovers are not forgotten for there's a selection of dainty cakes as well as Nyonya Kuihs to choose from.

Not forgetting another hawker favourite dessert, there's Apam Balik! It's such a rare sight to have this in a hotel.

It's fruit time to ease digestion and a cup of Teh Tarik to drown everything down! oomph!!

Just so the other day I drove to an unfamiliar or I can say an unkown area to me for I seldom venture that far away from the comfort of my home. Glad to say I took up the challenge and was glad that I went, for I found a gem tucked away in Subang Jaya's Regalia Business Centre. Before this day, I've never heard of Regalia Business Centre. Subang Jaya - yes for I used to frequent Subang Parade. Now I know Regalia Business Centre exists! *gives myself a pat on the back!* :p

Being a Thai food lover, I found the place - Sawasde Thai Kitchen & Cafe, a corner lot with nice ambience and great food!

Tables are set-up spaciously around and if you wish you can have your own private corner which I believe you would need prior reservation. There's outdoor patio available for those who need natural air :)

As with the usual Thai fare, we started off with Seafood Tomyam Soup.

First sip and my mouth exploded for it was spicy and full of fragrant. After awhile once the Tomyam soup has cooled down a little, you really taste the real thing and the spicyness led to a bit of sweetness. There's clear Tomyam soup available if you're a fan of clear based soup.

Next dish is something very unusual for me to find in a Thai Restaurant. We had Smoked Duck served with Thai special chili sauce. The duck meat is so tender and yes the taste is smoky! I also loved smoked duck and this appetizer is definitely my dish.

Another unique dish is the Garlic Deer Meat that is crispy. If you're not into deer, you can opt for beef but beef meat will definitely be much tougher.

Next, we had Deep Fried Prawn covered with generous amount of Thai Chili Paste. Although the prawns are deep fried, it was not dry at all. I easily "deskin" the prawns and found succulent flesh. The sauce is something that is unique too and is coconut base.

This vege dish I had it before in other Chinese establishment. Each time I have this dish, it impresses me very much for the leafs are deep fried thus giving you very crunchy bites. Fried Kailan with Kailan with oyster sauce. Kids will definitely go for this as it's a snack in a form of vege!

My favourite smoke duck made it's appearance for the 2nd time in the form of Beancurd with Smoke Duck. This dish can be in spicy or non-spicy form.

We also had Steam Siakap Fish - Sawadi Keng Som. The soup is not tomyam. It has the taste of BELACAN!! We confirmed this with the Restaurant Owner. The soup base is made using asam, belacan, dry chili and lemon grass. If you're a belacan lover, you will definitely like this. This dish arrives on the table bubbling HOT.

Look at how it's being kept HOT all throughout the meal. It's fueled by charchoal underneath. Super like my fish to be kept hot this way. You wont be eating cold fish at the end of your meal.

We also had Steam Clam Thai Style. These clams (lala) are imported from Philippines. Just look at how thick their meat is. No "sand" taste here which is quite the norm when you eat clams. These clams are super clean hahahaha.... Love their broth as it tantalises my tongue.

The last dish we tried was the Green Curry Chicken. It's one of Thai's famous dish to have and it's totally non-spicy.

Best part is spicyness level can be according to your preference for all the dishes. You would just need to inform the waitress/waiter during your order. This place will be a revisit for me and I'm bringing my family to dine here for now I know my way here! :p

*It's my 1st give away, do read right up to the end of this post and find out how you can take part in the give away! :D*

The meet-up place is in Sunway Pyramid at a place call Show 'U' Cafe Bar located at the Blue Athium. Although I've been to Sunway Pyramid numerous times, I still have problem getting my bearing once I've stepped foot inside!

So after parking my car, I headed to the Blue Athium oblivious to the other colours but BLUE BLUE BLUE and taa-daa found Show 'U' Cafe Bar. I've been wondering what they wanted to show 'me'. 'U' show me, I show 'U'?? @.@

One look at it and it occurs to me it's just another juice bar with snacks and such.

But wait, I spotted cozy corners to hang out and that's what we just did! I just love the greenery and white furnitures. It blends perfectly together. Don't you think so?

The friendly boss presented their Best Seller - Kiwi Tango. One sip and I'm sold! This will be my favourite from now on :)

Others that we tried was Berry Furry (RM15.90) - blackberry, pineapple, peach, strawberry and wasabi! Ooh now you know another usage of wasabi don't you. The taste? I superb love it too. Another favourite of mine! The wasabi just tantalises your tastebud without overpowering the fruits. Just similicious! :D

Orange Paradise (RM13.90) - orange, longan, pineapple and peach. I bet this will be the kids favourite, packed with the goodness of orange.

Berriginal (RM9.90) - orange, dragonfruit, strawberry and kiwi. If you're into berries, you have it all here.

That's not all for then a very unique drink landed on the table. It's the Monday Blue (RM5.90). Who wants to go smurfing around should get this drink. It'll drown all your blues away :p

If you like to munch on something when you drink, here's one for you. The Summer Rio (RM9.90). It's definitely a refreshing drink.

Here's a tip for you to get your kids to drink fruit juice. Get this Signature Crush (RM12.90) for it consists of watermelon, kiwi and orange. See the individual layers? Am sure your kid will drink it up in no time at all. As it is being made fresh and need to be layered, be a bit patient while waiting for this order of yours, as it takes time to prepare.

We then got down to food. I was surprised when we were serve this salad. It's not your ordinary salad for you can see lots of fruits in it! Me being a fruit lover, fell in love instantly with this Fruitilicious Salad <3

Instead of the usual salad dressing, Show 'U' Cafe Bar came up with their own salad dressing and this Fruitilicious Salad (RM8.90) reminds me of the dish "yee sang" my favourite CNY dish. At RM8.90 this salad bowl is a steal for you get lots of fruits and veges enveloped in their own unique dressing.

Did you spot those powdery substance on the fruits? At first I thought it was those "asam boi" powder. Turns out it is laced with Show 'U' Cafe Bar's Phytonutrients Essence. Tell you more about this later. Let's continue with the food we had.

For those who prefer to have their own individual serving, they can opt for Caperlicious Salad (RM6.90) which comes with the wasabe dip.

Next is another interesting platter ~ Marine Trio Salad (RM9.90). It consists of 3 individual servings of huge oyster, large prawns and a chunky salmon all on a bed of tuna with wasabe dip.

Value for money Marine Trio Salad at RM9.90 is a steal! The tuna with wasabe dip is so addictive. Served cold, it's a very refreshing appetizer.

We then had Perfect 10 (RM9.90). Mentioned this word and petite size came to my mind. Turns out is actually a sandwich! Layered with vege, cheese, chicken, egg and sauteed onions, one bite and I'm sold as well! The flavours that burst in your mouth is something you must experience yourself. It's felt so homemade yet so perfect, a truly Perfect 10!

Can you count the layers?

You thought this is the end? No, we had more!!

Marine Pumpkin (RM14.90). Creamy yet not too heavy. This is very unique to me for I've never had pasta with pumpkin sauce before. Those chunky salmon is just perfect, not overly cooked.

Chicken Bolognese (RM13.90). I found this sort of normal but nonetheless it taste equally good.

Marine Carbo (RM13.90). I'm not a creamy based person when it comes to pasta. Thus I surprised myself when I had a bite of this Marine Carbo. It was delicious and the cream is not too heavy at all.

Carbo Fungi (RM7.90) pasta. It calls for fungi lovers. You get to savour lots and lots of fungi. Those pine nuts make the whole dish more flavourful as you savour your pasta to the last drop! Best of all the pasta are served with angel hair and it's not your normal spaghetti. Rest assured that the texture is just right al dente.

After indulging in all the above, we end our meal with a cuppa. Those who prefer tea, Show 'U' Cafe Bar serves Milk Tea as well.

I opted for their Milk Tea and has no regrets. The tea is strong yet creamy with just the right amount of sugar. Not overly sweet.

What's a great meal without ending it on a sweet note. We tried the Red Velvet Cupcake and Crunchy Road. The cake is nice but the cream is a tad too sweet for me. Guess it's the norm for cupcakes to be sweet.

I prefer Crunchy Road. No doubt sweet but this is a real comfort food. It's not just chocolate you're biting into but nuts, chocolate and marshmellows!

We checked out and made reservation for our hotel one month before our intended trip. This time I left it to hubs to search the hotels. Finally we decided and made our hotel booking thru Air Asia Go.

The hotel that we decided on is Hotel Royal Macau. Situated on Estrada da Vitoria, at the foot of Colina da Guia, the historical Guia Fort and Lighthouse is located just right behind the hotel. 15 mins walk downwards will lead you to Senado Square a place that we frequent each day after venturing to other places of interest before we wind up the day in our comfortable and cozy room.

The staff is very helpful here and you can ask them for directions and they are more than ready to assist you. Free shuttle is also provided to hotel guest. Check out the timing, register yourself and just hop on to the shuttle provided to transport you to some of the famous landmarks. From there you can easily take a stroll and venture further. Shuttle back to the hotel is not provided thus you’re on your own for the return trip back to the hotel.

Convenience store ie. 7-eleven is just a stone’s throw thus you don’t have to worry if you need to get some necessities at the last minute.

Right after I came back from Macau, I joined my blogger friends for Hi-Tea at Corus Hotel(previously known as Ming Court Hotel donkey years ago).

As I've been having lots of Macau food, I was really looking forward to have back our KL food and am so glad that Corus Hotel was serving "The Taste of Malacca's Best", second theme of the month.

The Weekly Themed Hi-Tea is serve in Dondang Sayang coffee house which is spacious and bright.

This local themed hi-tea selection offers cosmopolitan brunch cum hi-tea that showcases Malacca's best which is the main highlight accompanied by International tastes from around the world.

We savoured a lot that day from Nyonya Laksa, Salted Vegetable Duck - a favourite of mine which always make me think of my grandma who usually cook this to Yam Cakes.

There's Ikan Bakar, how can we forget this! Each time I'm in Malacca this would be one of my favourite dish to order especially when I dip the fish flesh in cincalok!

Satay of course! I had the chicken and beef. Love the beef satay for it was not tough. Tender moist grilled to perfection. Aahhh, Malaysia food is still the BEST!

When you say Malacca, it usually equates to Nyonya. So what's Malacca Best without something nyonya right? I found pie-tees *squeal* My favourite anytime anyday! Just keep popping em into my mouth. Hey, it's healthy for the ingredients are made up of assortment of veges :)

Then there's lobak and four colour rolls which gave me a homely feel. My mum makes her own lobak at home. And then I saw Ponteh Chicken! Aaahhhh this is a truly Nyonya dish but I found it a bit watery. Am still used to my mum's Ponteh Chicken, been eating it for xx years mah right! Tastebud cannot change overnight :p

Each time I'm at a buffet, I'm spoiled for choice! There's more food but I want to tell you something. If you are a parent, you will definitely like this.

Spotted - Kid's Corner :D They have Kid's Corner for your kiddos to be kept busy with sand art activites, balloon sculptures, blocks and they have a screen that plays cartoon. So you can choose a table near to this corner, eat your heart out while still keeping an eye on your kids.

Fret not that they go hungry for they have their own short buffet line. Kid's meal! Now doesn't this sound good? They have their own spread on top of adult's spread.

Ooh before I go into the dessert, the main spread also has the fame Satay Celup (steamboat satay). You won't want to miss this when you're in Malacca. Now you don't have to drive all the way down for Corus Hotel brought it to you here right in the heart of KL City!

Tempted yet by the dessert? There's more and more and more.... So which shall I pick?

Kuih, cakes, doughnuts, sweet soup, ais kacang. Ooh my this is truly a Malaysian indulgent after having wanton mee, dumplings and milk tea for a few days in Macau. Just love sinking my teeth into the kuih talam that is fragrant with coconut and pandan (screwpine leaves) accompanied by munching into the assortment of surprises in the ais kacang :D

I think I need to detox myself before the next indulgence! :p

We were in Macau spelled also as Macao just last week during the school hols. It was an awesome 4 days there. All we did was eat walk sleep, eat walk sleep!! :))

It also marks Cavan's first flight experience and ooh boy, he gave me headache in the plane with his never ending questions (for those who know me well, when I'm in a plane all I do is sleep. Dont bother hoping to have a chat with me for I have air sickness >.<). I dont blame him for he has been counting down 2 months back! :p

The last time I stepped into this building was when I was still preggy with Caden. We brought Cavan to the lounge then as he enjoys listening to music while snacking away. Been 2.5 years already and it was great pleasure for me to come to this part of town again but this time it's no longer the Sheraton Subang but Grand Dorsett Subang!

So what's popping at Grand Dorsett Subang that brings me all the way here on a Saturday? I'm here this time not to lounge around but to have their Weekend Brunch which serves International fare :D

Kids will definitely go for this to get themselves a piping hot pack of popcorn that is freshly "POP"!!

Grand Dorsett Subang's Terazza Brasserie serves a wide selection of International buffet brunch. I had a gala time feasting on all and making a mental note of what to go for hehehe....

Now unto the main sections, you can have steamed, roast, cooked, stew, poached - you just gotta name all those styles and try em out!

From dim sum to DIY noodle station to selections of condiments to go with your congee, you are really spoilt for choice! If you think that this is just the norm, you should check out these yummilicious dishes...

They had Harissa Marinated Baby Chicken, Mustard Brushed Rib-Eye Steak, Seafood Mousaka, Briyani Chicken, Dalcha Tetel just to name a few. Are you able to pin-point which dish is a country's specialty? :))

Besides all that, there's a section of "Lok-Lok". The prawns just tempt me to try em out. You just need to select what you want, placed them all into the steel basket provided to cook and then drenched them in your sauce of choice. Altogether there were 6 sauce choices namely Garlic, Sweet Bean, Peanut, Green Chili Bean, Vietnamese Spicy and Terazza Special Steamboat. You can always omit the sauce and have them just as it is, in their all natural flavour.

And then I spotted this situated on top of a dais near those dim sum and just had to have a piece of this. No regret at all for their roasted chicken is full of flavour. The meat is tender and ooh-la-la, it's so good that I dont mind going second round for this.

What's a buffet without ending it on a sweet note. Dessert selections are also aplenty and we are so spoilt for choice.
Puddings, custards, cakes, fruits, sweet soup, make your own ice tower, etc.. Ohh gosh! I'm having difficulty storing them all in my tummy :p

Not forgetting you can scoop your own ice-creams and decorate it with the varieties of toppings available there.

Overall this is a good place to hang out with your friends for brunch. Situated slightly off the commercial hub of Subang Jaya, I feel that this is a good place to chill out with friends over good food.

BIG Feast!

I'm wrapping up my CNY 2012 posts with this feast that we had with our usual group during CNY. We had special delivery of fish and prawns from Sandakan all thanks to Dino Giap :D
First of course we must have "yee sang" to wish upon our dreams :))

Not willing to be left out is Caden. He practically crawled up onto the table (see his knee on table or not??) to has his share of toss! hehehe....

We ordered herbal chicken....for one of our member wants to nourish his health :p

The prawn came out next and look at how HUGE they are! @.@

For comparison, it is that HUGE! I had one and it satisfy me enough yumz!! This is flown in from Sandakan. Juicy and fresh *thumbs up*

We also ordered vegetable. Must have in every meal. Vegetables is good for you and me :DWe also had steam fish. Succulent flesh, extremely fresh. Also flown in from Sandakan.And this prawn lobster style. It's not prawn mantis. I don't know the name. Do you?

Huge eh? Yummy too! I like <3

Woke up bright and early. The weather is good and it's time for some walk in the historical city.

Our first stop after breakfast is at The Stadhuys aka the Red Building which is also the clock tower. It's a very happening place here for you get to hear LOUD music coming from colourful trishaws. I still like the old style trishaws, not the current "over decorated" type @_@

From here we hiked up St. Paul's hill. It's been donkey years since the last I've been up this hill. Not an easy task with a sleeping child on the stroller. Hubs has to carry him + stroller when we hit staircase but we made it and had a rest up here enjoying the sight below us and the cool breeze before hiking down to A 'Formosa Fort.

By this time, we are drenched in sweat and tired out. We headed back to Jonker Street to get myself some authentic Nyonya Dumplings and on our way we met with the WangKang Festival Boat Procession. WangKang which is also known as the King Barges Festival and is of a Hokkien descent. It is to send the evil spirits away. You can read more about this WangKang Festival here.

Bright red lions greeting Cavan. He like 'em but got distracted by those "big face Buddha" nearby which he is scared off and thus you see his expression above. All ready to run off if anyone of those big face comes near him LOL!!

We continued our walk and arrived at Jonker Street. It still amazes me till today how Malacca has transformed. It's like the Ugly Duckling story especially the river! :D

Here's the daylight view of the magnificient Dragon. Certain time of the day, you see water sprouting out and everyone rushes to grasp some water for wealth! I was studying to see how they channel the water through the Dragon and at last found the pipe hahaha....

Went to our favourite shop - East & West Rendezvous and ordered myself a Durian Cendol and to "tapau" my favourite Nyonya Dumplings.

Looking back at this photo makes me drool. Yummilicious durian cendol sslluuuurrrppp!

While enjoying our durian cendol, the owner was wrapping the dumplings and took my chance to snap some pics. The blue colour looks so fake eh? But the result of it is very yummy. I do hope she uses those flowers to make the blue colour and not anything artificial.

To end our short break in Malacca for CNY this year, I bought RM80 worth of dumplings!! @.@

We'll be back to Malacca again with our boys for we have not explored all of this historical city.

Malacca RiverCruise & Jonker Walk

And so after finishing our dinner we are ready to explore Malacca by night. This time we took the boys for a RiverCruise. We parked our car back at the hotel and decided to walk to the jetty. Receptionist told us it only takes 15 mins but we walked and walked and walked and could see no end! I think after 30+ minutes we finally saw the signage and then it was a long long que before our turn to board the boat.

Surprisingly the River Cruise is very nice. Very informative alas the crowd is noisy and we were not able to hear all of the narration.

We noticed that the buildings beside the riverbank has beautiful drawings and each tells a different story.

After completing the cruise, we decided to walk to Jonker Street. It's already 11.30pm then the streets are quiet. Imagine 2 adults walking with 2 kids one of them seated securely on the stroller roaming Malacca's street! hahaha....

Upon reaching Jonker Street we were greeted with this Dragon sprouting water!! Incredible sight! As I was superb busy the period leading to CNY and did not have my fair share of visiting malls to capture the dragons deco, I totally immersed myself and enjoyed taking every angle of this hanging dragon at the "mouth" of Jonker Street!

Even though it's already closed to midnight and some of the stalls are closing, we were still able to enjoy the atmosphere at Jonker Walk.

One round at Jonker Walk and we headed back to our hotel to recharge for next day's tour of the historical city.
