Celia Anderson doesn’t have a husband on her Christmas wish list. But when a traveling carpenter finds lodging at her boardinghouse, she admits that she might remarry if she found the right man–the kind of man who would bring her roses for Christmas. It would take a miracle, though, to find roses during a harsh Wyoming winter.

But Christmas, after all, is the time for miracles . . .

I LOVE Christmas Books! I mean I really do LOVE Christmas Books! The once I have been reading are around 150-250 pages. So it makes for a fast HOLIDAY Read. Holiday meaning- Thanksgiving, and or during Christmas time. I feel that these Christmas Books can really put a perspective on the Holiday.

Christmas Roses is a heart-felt story of a little girl just trying to help her family. It is not just about that, but it also shows us that we do not know people just by appearances alone. We need to really have quality time talking to a person and ask the right kinds of questions. We need to make time for those that come into our life and or home, and really learn about them. You never know when you might change someones life!

This cover is a simple but pretty cover. The cover helps you imagine were Celia is walking down the lane. Amanda Cabot can really get your imagination work, and you heart feeling all the pain and happiness the characters feel.

Thank you to Revell for allowing me to read this AMAZING CHRISTMAS BOOK! All opinions are my own.

Eight-year-old Lucy Turnbull knew better than to wish for a pony that Christmas in 1937. Her mother had assured her in no uncertain terms that asking for a pony was the same as asking for the moon. Besides, the only extra mouths they needed at their boarding house were the paying kind. But when an interesting pair of strangers comes to town, Lucy starts to believe her Christmas wishes might just come true after all.The queen of the Christmas novel, Melody Carlson pens another magical tale of expectation and excitement as one little girl dreams big and the impossible becomes possible.

So today while I was reading this book and I realized that is marked exactly 2 weeks since my Aunt Lucy passed away. I found it ironic that I was reading a story about a girl named Lucy. By the time you read this some time in November I am assuming. My aunt will have been in Heaven 6 weeks. Still fresh, but with all the death we have had this year I am able to stay strong and move on.

I found this book enjoyable! I can not say that this was my FAVORITE Christmas Book by Melody Carlson but it is pretty close. But it was sure cute. I really enjoyed every min of reading The Christmas Pony. This story hits home to some who grew up during the depression Meaning the mother took in laundry to make a little extra. Or even opened up their homes as boarding houses when a spouse has passed. I think that everyone should.

I believe that reading Melody Carlson’s Christmas books are going to become a tradition in my home. I think that it should be that way in all homes! Thank you to Revel for allowing me to review this book. All opinion are my own.

Fall in love with this cozy story about two people from different worlds. Franny Martin is an Oklahoma farm girl who’s preparing to spend the holidays alone…again. Then Charlie Landau shows up one day, all wealth and polish, and offers to buy Franny’s farm. Franny has no money to speak of, but she is clever and spirited, and she’s more than happy to sell the farm and move to the city.
As Sinatra croons from the radio and Christmas descends upon her charming farm, Franny teaches Charlie the curious and sometimes comical ways of country life. In the process, they unearth some discoveries of the heart—that sometimes love comes when you’re least ready for it. Will the holidays bring their most impossible dreams within reach?

I was so grateful that I had this book here in my home to review. I was able to sit down and read this book in a few hours. I was grateful for it too! I can’t wait to read an other HOLIDAY Book! Not sure what I will read next but I sure hope that it as good as the last 3 I read.

Anita writes in a way to just keep the reading flowing and the reading going. I can’t wait to read her next holiday book next year, if she writes one. This book is a heart-felt with the desire for change in one’s life. Is the change worth it or what we really want? We never know until it happens.

I know that I am going through changed right now in my life. I have to remember how Franny and Charlie will handle the change! This is a great book to add to your Holiday TBR (to be read) List.

Based on a true story. This up lifting story of a family fighting to save Dax Locke. The Locke family is an inspiration to say the least. This movie shows how friends and family can help a child with cancer. They show how hard it is along with how important it is to stay joined together.

This movie was an emotional one to say the least, but well worth the time watching it. I might watch it again once with my family. My friend asked if she should watch it I had to tell her yes. To make sure she had a nice big box of tissue. Since she is pregnant, and due to all those extra hormones.

Bestselling Author and Bible Life Coach

I don’t know where you stand today with the man you love or loved—or if you are single, divorced, separated, or widowed. I can tell you, though, that if you’ve been hurt, you can be sure Your heavenly Father knows how hard it is to love and forgive the one who caused you pain. Yet regardless of the relational devastation you face, no one can keep you from finishing strong for God’s glory!

I was raised in a non-Christian home. My parents have each been married and divorced to three different people. As part of several blended families, all I understood about marriage when I was growing up was “unhappily ever after.” But then I became a Christian at twenty-four and married my husband, Steve, just a few years later. Because of my love for God and my husband, I honestly didn’t think anything could shake my own marriage or faith.

In the summer of 2007, however, my happily ever after was wiped out and my faith was tested. The family foundation I had worked so hard to build and protect was almost destroyed, along with my ministry, in that season of my life. I truly believed that God had forsaken me.

I had just finished writing my book for mothers about raising sons to become godly husbands. As I excitedly ran upstairs to e-mail the manuscript to the publisher, I suddenly felt as if something dark hovered over me. My passion for the book’s message was drowned out by the fear of an attack from the enemy that could come against me and my family if I stepped on his territory . . . young men and their future marriages.

I called the publisher and said I’d need to wait and pray for courage before submitting the manuscript. I went to my son, Jake, who was eighteen years old and a senior in high school at the time, and asked him if he had any plans of rebelling against his faith once he graduated from high school. I told him I was willing to give him freedom to find his own faith in Christ, but I didn’t want to put out a book about raising boys if my own son was going to walk away from the Lord. He reassured me that he was strong in his faith and that he felt I should publish the book. I decided to take the chance to make a difference and sent in the manuscript.

The book began climbing the charts, and everything seemed to be going well. I even began speaking with my son at conferences for mothers of boys. Then three months into my book tour, my fear of attack hit. My husband had taken a job that we had both prayed for. This job appeared to be a blessing; however, his new position required him to violate some of the boundaries we had put in place to protect our marriage, and we ended up separated.

There I was in the public eye of ministry, fighting to save future marriages, and somehow my own marriage was falling apart. My son was devastated by the division between me and his dad. It was too hard for him to deal with all his confusion, pain, and anger, so he took a break from his faith and began using drugs and alcohol to comfort himself. I had always known to run to God for cover when there was a great attack, but now I felt like He had left me alone on the battlefield to fight for myself. It appeared that all I had believed about God and all my effort to build a strong foundation for my own family had been shattered. My pain, my shame, and my life were an embarrassment. I felt as if I were battling an out-of-control fire that would burn up everything I loved and lived for. Every night I would cry myself to sleep as I struggled to understand why God had not protected me while I was attempting to accomplish something for His glory.

One night I could not take it anymore, so I fell to my knees and told God I either wanted Him to fix my family or I wanted to quit the ministry. Then I felt the Lord asking me a bigger question: Was My life, given on a cross for you, not enough for you to finish strong even if it means surrendering the life you wanted? For the first time I realized that my heart’s true desire was to feel loved and secure, and yet no man on earth could love me the way my Lord does. In that moment of crisis I found the true meaning of following Christ. God had not forsaken me, but He did want to free me from depending on others to give me my happily ever after.

That night I gave my heart’s deepest desire to God and chose to follow Him at any cost. In exchange, He gave me something so much better; He gave me peace that was more powerful than my circumstances. My faith was no longer in people; it was in Christ alone. Although nothing outwardly had changed yet, I had been changed. Today, Steve and I have celebrated twenty-five years of marriage, and our son serves God with His whole heart. He and his bride have given us our first grandbaby girl. However, to be honest, restoring our marriage was excruciatingly painful and more difficult than either of us expected. As hard as this trial was, it taught me a valuable lesson: our Lord is the God of comfort and the author of a new beginning. He can and will rebuild a beautiful life out of any broken heart willing to make a change. He will use one sacrificial choice; one act of forgiveness; one sincere, repentant heart; and one woman who is willing to step out in faith and start rebuilding with His love for His glory.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. (Psalm 121:1-2)

It is totally out side of the box for my everyday life.

This planner has a Master Scheduler for each of the seasons. Which is something new for me. So I personally have not used it to the full functionality of it. It has a month and a weekly planner. The weekly pages have little quotas at the bottom of the pages, which is a nice idea! It gives it a personal touch! OH yeah they even give you little sticker to place on your weekly or monthly calender- things like Birthdays, Anniversary Doctors, No SCHOOL, Events and that is to just name a few.

I am very impressed with this planner, and maybe making this brand my new brand to buy! Thank you to Dot Mine for sending me this planner, I almost missed out on this one. Glad my friend made sure I joined in the reviews they offer. All opinions are my own.

What if God’s love were like the sun, constant and unchanging? What if one day you realized nothing could take that away?

Firebird is a bright orange baby oriole who just loves the sunshine. But whenever a storm blows in, he frets and asks Mama why God allows the rain to take the sun away. When Firebird is finally old enough, his mother gently instructs him to fly up through the thunder and lightning to see what’s on the other side.

It’s a rough flight, and just when he’s about to give up, Firebird rises above the storm to discover the sun shining where it always had been.

God never lets the storm take the sun away. With that truth in his heart, Firebird continues to bask in the sunshine, but just as important, he learns to rejoice in the rain.

Firebird is a children’s book that parallels the life of Samantha Crawford, a storybook artist in the inspiring new film Unconditional (scheduled for a theatrical launch in fall 2012) who has lost sight of God’s love.

What a cute book! This is the perfect book for ADULT- YES adults to remember that even in those hard time when we think it can not get any worse that GOD is still with us. This book Kids book really hit home. Yeah my kids still asked me more about the story, but totally worth reading to them over and over! This is a great book to give to any child in your life as a Birthday Gift, Easter or any time you see fit. All opinions are my own!
