PD is a long-term degenerative disease of the central nervous system. It mainly affects the motor system and its symptoms usually have slow-onset. In early stages, the disease is characterized by shaking, slow movement, difficulty in walking, and rigidity. In time, thinking and behavioral problems may occur.
