I got a call from brad pitt. he was in town for a day. told me he is going to the PI to meet up with skyman. coming back in around the 18th. yeah. he gets around. oh yeah. almost forgot. did another workout with da brain. and also, pigged out at the sizzler next door with him after the workout. that was the big event of the day.

yesterday - friday - I was quite busy. woke up early to go to the american express office to settle a problem with my amex card. finally got the issue resolved. afterwards, I did this hotel project for a friend. combed all the hotels up and down a few streets near where we all hang out. altogether, I checked out like 30 hotels to see what their current daily rates are. in between the investigation, I went over to this supermarket, and found to my pleasant surprise that they had a sale on "cheez-it" crackers. man, when I was still living in the states, I ate these things all the time for snacks. yes, it has been almost 10 years since I last ate these things. boy! was I happy to snack on a box of these guys after so many years. get this... they were going for 34 baht a box while on this sale. I plan on going back later tonight to see if they still have any boxes for sale. probably not. but who knows? right?

after 4 hours of checking out all the hotels and their rates, I went home for a power nap. got back to the parking lot at around 11pm. lots of lounge lizards out and about.

roll call.... timberwolf, dutch callahan, diamond jack, kilroy the stud, tokyo mark, dalai lama, the smothers brothers, craig constantine, mr. jeeves, duece bigalow, hemingway, sam sloane, handsome chris, jack dawson, that girl, cherries jubilee, cutie pie 2, drew, bambi, giggles.

it was a good night for hanging out. had fun. got home at 3:30am. ..that was last night.

today, got a call from da brain. meeting up with some of the gang for a farewell dinner at 7pm. maybe do another workout before the dinner. that's the plan.

am hoping to see mike jagger one of these days. heard he is back in town. that's all the news for now.

bye.

the pizza buffet didn't materialize.

man, I was really set on going to this pizza buffet this afternoon. but when I got there, I was told that the pizza buffet was canceled because it was a thai holiday.

talk about a big letdown...

I had starved myself for the whole day to pig out on the pizza. and then, it wasn't to be. ugh!

so, what did I do, you ask? ..why, I ran down to the sizzler over at the siam center, and pigged out over there. that's what I did.

after dinner, I was planning on heading over to the parking lot. but when I got home to change, I suddenly had the urge to take a power nap. fell asleep on the spot. was awaken by a phone call from da brain. the time was 8:30pm.

da brain told me it was raining outside. so, initially, I was thinking of staying in. BUT I was somewhat stir crazy. at around 10pm, I got dressed and went out to the parking lot. almost nobody around. only saw jack dawson, and mr. jeeves in the parking lot. well, I take that back. I did see giggles, cherries jubilee, cutie pie 2, and lady puu. but only in passing.

I left the scene around midnight. while walking to the bus stop, I bumped into tripod, and tiger. they were taking a stroll around the neighborhood.

a non-eventful day.

..tomorrow, my plan is to make a trip over to the amex office, then, check out this new apartment. followed by maybe a short workout. that's pretty much the plan.

got word from gomer pyle.. coming over in a couple of weeks. davy crockett is in los angeles now. one step closer to the land of smiles. mike jagger should be on the plane now coming back to bangkok.

who do I know at DF King????

bangkok time - 10:15am.

just now, I got a call from someone in new york city. from some company called DF King. when I answered the phone, all I got was silence.

so, now, I'm wondering - who the fu#k do I know working at DF King???

anyway, it's tuesday. still sort of early for me. call it a toilet run. will go back to sleep in a few minutes.

I seem to recall jack dawson wanted to go do that all-you-can-eat pizza buffet that I told him about a few weeks ago. let's see if he contacts me today about it. ..jack, remember - 2 hours notice. oh hell! I kept myself busy surfing the net.

we meet up at the gym at around 4:30pm. 15 minute lifecycle, 3 sets of stomach crunches, 2 sets of arm lifts, etc. basically, I complete a 45 minute workout. mind you, this is the first workout for me in like 6 months. a little tired after a warm shower, I noticed that my stiff neck was almost gone.

from the gym, da brain and I met up with tiger for dinner at this shabu shabu buffet at the mbk mall. meeting time was at 6:30pm. haven't seen tiger since last november. while pigging out on food, we talked about nothing.

we finished dinner at maybe 7:45pm. and went our separate ways. the guys had other people to meet up with. I went home to put away my gym clothes before going over to the parking lot. BUT when I got home, I found myself really tired from it all. and decided to take a power nap.

woke up at around midnight. hehehe. so, no parking lot. no lobby tonight.

after I finish up with this post, I'll go back to playing my "dawn of war 2".

last thoughts... (what else?)

around 5pm, I got a call from willie brown. he was calling all the way from north carolina.

at 8:30pm, I got dressed, and headed out to the lobby. got there at 9:30pm. like clockwork, da brain and beautiful appeared. over hot coffees, we updated our status with one another. da brain is here for 2 months. he informed me that tiger is here.

at 11pm, the jetlag finally got to da brain. he went home. I stayed on to shoot the breeze with timberwolf, dutch callahan, the analog man, and diamond jack.

the watcher made a surprised appearance with an enchanting lady from china. way beyond cute, I'm not sure what nickname to give her. will have to think about it some. strawberry? slim n beautiful? christmas? ..after 360+ nicknames, I plumb out of ideas. ugh!

anyway, when the watcher left, I went out into the parking lot to oogle the scene there. sort of dead. but was able to meet up with a number of lounge lizards.

...long time jessie, jack dawson, duece bigalow, mr. jeeves, craig constantine, the colonel, cherries jubilee, playpen.

went home at 2:30am with a stiff neck. not sure how it came about. thought that maybe it was because I left the air/con on last night. but on second thought, it maybe because of this mishap on one of the buses coming over - whiplash. oh well, just need to deal with it and move on.

it was the 4th of july, and ...

I didn't do anything but sleep in. the thought occurred to me to go out and celebrate a little. but I decided to just stay in and rest. after the last few consecutive days of hanging out late, my body needed a break.

perhaps it's for the best anyway, I've noticed that something is starting to go around. the swine flu? maybe not. but when people go around coughing and denying that they are sick when asked. well, that makes me think a little.

a little precaution never hurt anyone.

received a phone call from the shadow. calling all the way from the states to get the latest gossip.

it's about 3am now. and I'm feeling a lot stronger now with a day's rest. in about 10 hours, da brain should be arriving into bangkok. it will be good to see him again.

back to my computer games now....

what happened to thursday night?

I don't know how it happened. but somehow, I forgot to post what happened for thursday night? oh well....

yesterday (friday) was one jam packed day for me. started the day out by going over to the american express office at noon. for lunch, I went to the sizzler over at siam center. this branch of sizzler is fast becoming my favorite. it's probably the biggest in bangkok. packed with college students and professional types. you can enjoy eating a good meal and doing people watching at the same time.

after lunch, for some reason, I decided to shop for some shorts. not really sure what brand to buy, I decided to go to mbk and look for them there. mbk has some retail stores that sell export quality clothing selling at unbelievable prices on the 3rd floor. I went to around a dozen shops before finding a place that sold high quality shorts that I was happy with. a little more expensive than the places that sell the 150 to 250 baht cargo shorts, this place sold the "orirush brand" for 500 baht. about 15 dollars. when I got home to try them on, I came away thinking I wanted to get another pair of these "orirush" shorts. discovered from one of the tags stuck to my new shorts that this orirush company has a website, AND a factory shop just a few blocks from my place. once I found this out, I made a beeline to the factory to check it out. get this. it is a factory outlet. and they have a sale right now. they had shorts for 200 to 300 baht a piece. got 2 more.
http://www.orirush.com

altogether, I spent like 4 hours shopping for these new shorts. tired. I took a short hour power nap before heading out to the parking lot at 9pm.

met up with hemingway. decided to head over to the big T to hangout. bumped into singapore jimmy, and tripod along the way. tripod tells me he just got into town.

from the big T, we went back to the parking lot using the "long route". by this time, it was around midnight. a number of lounge lizards came out of the woodwork to hang out...

roll call... timberwolf, dutch callahan, duece bigalow, singapore jimmy, mr. jeeves, craig constantine, jacques cousteau, jack dawson, hemingway, boris, tripod, lady puu, candle, hello kitty, baby.

one of the topics discussed last night was - what are you going to do for 4th of july? a number of us including me said - sleep in.

went home at 2:30am. 6 hours later, here I am doing this post. made myself this fruit smoothie made with fresh rambutans, ice, and an orange juice base. no plans for later this afternoon. may just go back to sleep. da brain coming in tomorrow morning.

I got the blender.

yeah. you heard right. I don't think it will last 20 years. but if I lose 20 to 30 lbs because of it, who cares, right?

as soon as I got home, I made a smoothie. it wasn't according to any recipe. just whatever I had available. 3 bananas, some mangosteens, a guava, and some grape juice. added a cup of ice. and that was dinner. for my first smoothie, I guess it was ok. I didn't want to puke. tasted ok. my stomach is full.

now, let's see what happens in a few hours.... will I get hungry again? get a spurt of energy? have an urge of some sort? who knows?.....

call this - day 1 - of my smoothie diet. weight - 88.7 kilos or 195 lbs.

so, what else has happened to me today, you ask?

....got a call from long time jessie. he's back in town. wants to get a lifetime membership at california wow. used my magicjack to contact american express in the states. works like a charm.

feel like taking a power nap now. 4 hours of window shopping was tiring. only enough time for a 2 hour power nap.

then, back to the parking lot.

yes, life is good.

another great day in bkk.

yesterday was the second day that I slept good. woke up at around noon. 7 straight hours of sleep. didn't have any immediate plans to do anything. so, I just played computer games for a while. come 4pm, I did the shower/brush teeth/shave routine.

got a call from the watcher. he's at central world mall. we make plans to meet up for dinner at sizzler.

I got there at 6:30pm. meet up with the watcher at this guitar shop. the watcher plays the guitar. and was shopping for an amplifier. personally, I never got into music. but after talking to the watcher, I might try out the guitar. anybody want to donate an old guitar for this lounge lizard to try out?

after the guitar store, we went to sizzler. I like sizzler a lot. got my usual 1 plate salad, 1 bowl soup, 1 dessert, and the entree - this time I got the combo plate - crumpy fish with pork sausage.

..it appears a lot of people like sizzler because I've noticed that more and more people go there nowadays. last night, it was PACKED! ..and it was 8pm.

after dinner, the watcher went home with his new amplifier, and I went to the parking lot. another dead day in the parking lot. the temperature was comfortable, so, hanging out was fun even though it was somewhat dead.

several lounge lizards were out and about. chatted with jack dawson, duece bigalow, mr. jeeves, craig constantine, the barber, the analog man, captain qwe.

..some young guy waved at me while I was alone resting in the lobby. was that you - big skippy?

duece bigalow was bitching about my talking about blenders all the time last night. I guess he likes to talk about more sophisticated stuff. anyway, so, I changed the subject, and started to talk about girls. he seemed to be happy with that topic.

that was the whole night last night. I went home at 2am thereabouts. didn't sleep 7 hours straight. but hey. 6 straight hours is not so bad.

so, what is the plan for today, you ask? ...I think I will buy that blender today. still not entirely sure which one. just want to get the purchase out of the way so that I can start drinking fruit smoothies. somebody commented that you can't lose weight on a smoothie diet. but I heard differently, so, I want to try.

the blender that I am thinking of getting is this 600w model with a glass pitcher that crushes ice blends in 20 seconds. my gut feeling tells me it won't last 20 years like the osyter professional that I read about on the net selling for $59 on amazon. but what the hell.

I also might check out this 36 sq meter studio apartment that another lounge lizard told me about. same price as what I pay now but with more space. we'll see.

I think I'll go back to sleep now. another few hours in dream land should do the trick.

everything is ok.

I went to the hospital yesterday at around 10am. and while holding my breath, I got the official word from the doctor, I'm ok. granted, my BP is 159/96, my cholestrol is 410, and my weight is 88.7.

BUT I'm ok.

..that means, I am not diabetic, hiv+, have cancer, etc. I'M OK!!!!!!

now, if only I can lose some more weight. hopefully, when I buy my new blender, the fruit smoothies will do the job. for my mid-year resolution, I will change my eating habits a little... I will do 2 meals a day drinking fruit and vegie smoothies, and ONE meal as a treat meaning a buffet, or a fast food joint. doesn't that sound like a good plan?

at least I'm not eating every meal at mcdonalds, right?

so, how was my day yesterday, you ask?

after getting the great results from the doctor, I made a beeline to mbk where I went to the shabu shabu buffet on the 7th floor next to the bowling alley. I didn't pig out like I usually do. decided instead to get a little bit of everything until I was full.

ahhhhh. Oooohhhhh. talk about satisfaction. and for only 200 baht. what a deal!

after lunch, I went on a window shopping binge looking for that right blender to make my fruit smoothies. checked out every store selling blenders in siam paragon, siam discovery, mbk, and central world. spent like 5 hours looking. by 6pm, I was dead on my feet. and I still didn't find that oyster professional blender for sale. ugh!

got home at 7pm, and flopped into bed for a power nap. got up at 10pm, and went to the parking lot. the scene was pretty much dead. but I hooked up with some lounge lizards, and had a good time.

roll call... timberwolf, dutch callahan, captain kirk, craig constantine, mr. jeeves, duece bigalow, the guru, the watcher, the analog man, kuma sutra, dalai lama, nintendo, betty boop, that girl, cherries jubilee, cutie pie 2, candle.

I crawled back home at around 3am. my feet were aching, and my eyes were drooping. but I was happy.

I just woke up. 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep says it all. that new air purifier unit that I purchased a couple of days ago really is something. as far as I'm concerned, everyone should have one here in bangkok.

just to let you all know, I got mine at the IT city store 6th floor at pantip plaza. cost 4,990 baht. and worth every baht.

got to run now. time for some food!

need to take care of myself.

nobody else will. I didn't go to the parking lot last night. decided to stay home and get up early to do my annual physical. glad I did. it appears the news is bad. how bad, I don't know.

here's the scoop...

I woke up at around 8am. got to the hospital at around 10am. it took about 3 hours to finish all the tests because there were a lot of people doing their annual physical exams today.

so, what were the results, you ask?

I didn't get the whole results because they wanted to take some more time examining them. (definitely NOT a good sign). I'm suppose to return tomorrow morning for the whole picture. but what I have to report right now is - blood pressure 159/96. weight 88.7 kilos.

when I was 13, my cholestrol count was 419. so, my guess is when I get the report tomorrow, it'll be the same or higher.

somewhat relieved to finally get the annual physical exam out of the way, I went to sizzler for lunch. didn't pig out opting to just get balanced portions of everything.

for some reason, something clicked in my mind, and told me to buy the air purifier that I have always been thinking of getting. and also decided to window shop for a blender. went around the stores. read that the oyster professional is pretty good. selling on amazon for $59 dollars. but didn't see it in any shops here in bangkok. will keep looking.

it's about 8:30pm right now. and I haven't even slowed down yet. will I go to the parking lot tonight? I don't know. it's been raining on and off all day. I might just stay in to avoid the rain. still have to go back to the hospital too. guess that's the plan.

rest and go back to the hospital for the news tomorrow.

how lazy can a lounge lizard be?

hey. even I don't know that. there I was yesterday at around 11am in the morning ready to go to the hospital for my annual physical. BUT did I go? ...for some reason, this voice in the back of my head said... "don't go.... don't go". so, what happens, you ask?

...I didn't go.

I told da brain about this. and he has started talking about putting up bets for when I will actually go. hehehe.

(I'm thinking of going on monday now.)

anyway, after the big decision... I went back to sleep. woke up at 4pm thereabouts. after cleaning myself up, I ended up going to the central world mall to do some window shopping. naturally, food came to my mind. I decided to go eat at this all-you-can-eat buffet called "shabusushi". for about 243 baht, you can eat all you want in an hour and 15 minute time frame. as it turns out, I was full in about 45 minutes. the minute I exited the place, rain came down from the sky like it was the end of the world. yeah. the rainy season is here. I was at the skytrain terminal at the time. I just sort of went into a trance waiting for the rain to go by. an hour later, I boarded the train for the parking lot. when I got there, it was dead. went into the lobby. ..except for the barber, it was also dead. the time was about 9pm. after chatting a little with the barber, I left and went to the big T. talk about night and day. the big T was packed. I was in a mellow mood at the time. so, rather than engage in any conversation with anybody, I just took in the scene while sipping on some hot coffee. did this for maybe an hour. strolled back over to the parking lot at 11pm. things were starting to pick up. saw a few lounge lizards.

roll call... timberwolf, dutch callahan, duece bigalow, mr. jeeves, the guru, jack dawson, the colonel, the barber, kuma sutra, honda, nintendo, cupie pie 1, cupie pie 2, cherries jubilee, the stunner, hello kitty, baby, jazz, candle.

over beers, and soft drinks, we just hung out in the parking lot until maybe 2am. I went home with energy to spare. somewhat at peace with myself.

saturday night at the ok corral.

wasn't able to get the physical today.

it appears you need to fast for 12 hours now rather than the 8 hours that it used to be. so, I will need to reschedule the annual physical exam for tomorrow. if I want to have it done at around 8am tomorrow, I will have to stop eating at 8pm the previous day. ugh!

good excuse to do a buffet. YEAH!!! now, I have to figure out which one to go to.

life is looking up. woke up this morning with no hives. had a little itching but no hives. a big plus.

it's about 3pm now. my mind is focused on some buffet somewhere. have to start at maybe 6pm if I want enough time to fill my stomach before 8pm. who knows? maybe I'll make it to the parking lot for an hour afterwards? sounds like a plan.

some lounge lizards said...

they are interested in hearing about my daily endeavors including my struggles physically. I said to myself... ok, maybe for now.

so, what has happened since my last post on tuesday, you ask?...

..I had to go out of my room today to stock up on groceries. also, wanted to get a haircut. looking in the mirror. I guess you could say, I'm about 85% recovered from my bell's palsy.

as for my case of hives... interesting enough, in the first 2 days that I experienced them, they disappeared within an hour of appearing. but yesterday, wednesday, they came up like gangbusters, and then, didn't go away for like the whole day. I had them practically all over my body. maybe 85%, one minute, my back is covered. the next minute, it is my legs. talk about suffering. I looked like a tomato. and was itching all over. except for the itching, I didn't feel any pain. wednesday night, I went to bed crying and honestly thought that maybe I was dying.

BUT then, this morning, when I woke up, the hives disappeared almost completely. I recall jumping out of bed the second my eyes opening up, and staring at the mirror to see how my body was. what the fu#k?! hardly any hives, I thought to myself unbelievlngly. weird! I had this incredible thrist for water. drank like 2 pints.

like I said earlier, I had to go out to get groceries. around 9am, I dressed and went out. did the grocery shopping. got my haircut. went to the sizzler at siam discovery for lunch. snack at mbk. during the maybe 8 hours that I was outside, I didn't experience any outbreak of hives. strange, I thought to myself.

the dude called me a couple of times yesterday. but I didn't let on about my condition. spoke to da brain a little. got emails from mike jagger and the watcher. returning soon.

when I got home at 6pm thereabouts, I was tired to the bone. went to sleep. woke up from the power nap at around 9pm.

it just turned midnight on my clock. physically, I feel average. not really itching. but am somewhat wary of the hives happening again since I had such a bad case of it just yesterday. not sure what caused the hives. the only thing I can think of is the chinese broccoli that I cooked up for a meal a few days ago. and then, there is the new brand of milk I bought to go with my cereal. suffice to say, I tossed both out after the experience with the hives.

did I go to the lobby, or the parking lot? answer...would you if you were in my state of mind?

going to get some sleep now. planning on going to the hospital early tomorrow to get my annual physical exam.

good night everybody. thinking... happy memories.

my mantra..

happy memories.... since moving to thailand, I've been trying to follow this new philosphy of mine. basically, it comes down to wishing all my friends happy memories. and that includes not trying to complain too much. or become a conveyor of bad news.

a quick review of my last posts has got me thinking that I am wandering somewhat away from this goal. so, I decided not to keep you all abreast of my physical problems, anymore.

happy memories.... the most important thing in life.

I went out today to stock up on groceries. you won't believe the fruits they have around here. I bought 2 kilos of these ultra sweet lychees that were absolutely massive. so big, you could not pop them in your mouth.

after shopping for groceries, I went to the sizzler over at the central mall for lunch. the time was about noon. early for me. strangely enough, there was nobody around. maybe 5 tables at most. I took my merry time eating savoring every bite like it might be my last. that sizzler at the central mall has some real cuties working there. it's times like this that make me wonder why so many rookie lounge lizards tell me it is hard to meet girls here in bangkok.

as I see it, they are EVERYWHERE. duh.

I didn't do much else today after the trip to sizzlers and shopping for groceries. went home to rest.

for those of you wondering if I went to the hospital yet. the answer is no. planning on going tomorrow to get my annual physical exam. cost is about 6k baht. I think I will make it to the hospital really early to avoid the crowds.

not sure when I will go to the parking lot for a look see. maybe when duece comes back from pattaya. who knows?....

life is ever changing. one day, you may be healthy, another day, perhaps not. one day, you may be alive, and the next day, ....just a memory.

heat rash.

nothing to worry about. it's just heat rash. using some simple commonsense and observation, I have come to the conclusion that all I have is a simple heat rash.

stupid me.

granted, I never had it before in my life. I guess when you get older, all kinds of things pop up when you least expect it.

the hint that drove me to believe it is heat rash is - when I turn on the air/con, it disappears. an hour of air/con, and it is totally gone. the itching, the leg cramps, the rash, everything gone.

when I go to sleep, I don't leave on my air/con. which is why I get the itching really bad when I wake up. I wonder if that is why timberwolf hangs out in the lobby so much? ..one of those things you don't know the answer for - UNTIL you get old. hehehe.

so, now the question is - will I make it to the parking lot tonight? I'm not sure. will play it by ear. not a spring chicken anymore.

AND you young guys want to wait until you are age 65 to retire??? it's one area where duece bigalow and I agree on. IF you have the money already, don't wait. retire NOW. ..unlike wine, your body doesn't get any better with age.

GET those happy memories while you still can....

I stayed home last night, AND also tonight...

because I developed this intense need to itch my feet and hands. I'm not sure what is causing the symptoms. but I plan on doing my annual physical on monday. so, I will ask the doctor what is going on then.

a quick surf on the net brought up many possibilities...

allergic reaction to something... shingles... diabetes... gout... insect bites... etc.

I stopped taking the medication for my bell's palsy a few weeks ago. so, I don't think it is that.

the itching is most intense when I just wake up. subsiding as I start to move around more. how intense is it? rubbing my feet 15 minutes when I wake up. rubbing hands and forearms off and on constantly throughout the day.

it's been 2 days now.

yeah. I would have stayed longer. but I had something else to do that required my going to thai immigration the next day. (or rather in 6 hours).

as it turns out, I only got like 5 hours of sleep before I went to thai immigration to do this visa thing. after the visa thing, I hooked up with the matador at mbk. we did some window shopping together. 3 HOURS worth of window shopping. we parted at close to 6pm.

yeah. I was pretty tired. fell asleep as soon as I got back to my place. woke up at about 10:30pm. still tired. decided not to go out. so, here I am watching tv, and getting ready to play my "dawn of war 2".

I conked out last night..

like we planned, I met up with wesley snipes in the lobby at 5:30pm. actually, he was waiting for me in the parking lot. we went inside to the lobby just to make sure there were no other lounge lizards interested. I saw one of the early bird lounge lizards, bemmer, hanging out in the softseats. but he was with some of his friends. so, I left him alone thinking that he was not aware of my dinner invitation.

some of the other lounge lizards whom I invited called to say they were busy with other things. ..got a call from super glenn. he's back in town.

anyway, wesley and I decided on going over to sizzler for dinner. got there at maybe 6pm. went to the one over in the central world mall. luckily, we got there just before it really got busy. no waiting in line for a seat. they had the wednesday night special for 199 baht. so, I ordered that.

wesley and I parted after dinner. he went home. I did my usual window shopping for about an hour. and then, took the bus home. I was going to go directly to the parking lot to hangout. but the buffet got me so drowsy, I had to take a nap.

well, I'm sure you can imagine what happened after taking the nap, right? the next thing you know, the time showing on the clock is around 1am. going to the parking lot at that time was definitely not an option.

did my fall back option of playing "dawn of war 2" and surfing the net for about 3 hours. slept at 4am thereabouts.

it is about noon now. another day of no plans to do anything. ..looking outside my balcony, the weather looks nice. not really hot. blue skies. tempted to go out. but more than likely, I will just go back to sleep. ..think I'll make something to eat now. play maybe an hour or 2 of my "dawn of war 2". then, get some more zzz before the witching hour. and the parking lot.

another SES day... for those of who not familiar with lounge lizard terminology, that's "sleep eat shit" day.

david letterman paid me a visit...

yesterday, I played my "dawn of war 2" for about 5 hours. then, there were 2 hours of my debating issues with people on the net.

at around 9pm, I got dressed and headed out to the parking lot.

..yeah. I know. I said I was going to go check up on some indoor moo ka-tats around victory monument. so, what happened, you ask? ..I got lazy. sue me.

I was somewhat hungry when I got off the bus near the parking lot. so, I made a beeline over to the mcdonalds near there to get something to eat first. lo and behold, I saw duece bigalow feeding his face so to speak. while munching on my filet o'fish value meal, duece and I chatted it up.

afterwards, we walked over to the parking lot together. hung out for maybe 30 minutes. then, lounge lizards started to come out of the woodwork. first, it was winnie the pooh, then, it was sweetheart, craig constantine, the smothers brothers. the big surprise of the night was seeing david letterman strolling up the parking lot towards me. I haven't seen the guy for at least 3 months.

after maybe an hour of bullshitting in the parking lot, we decided to rest in the lobby. boy! did that air/con feel good. kilroy the stud came by to greet us. he informed me that EQ San was in town. as for timberwolf.. yeah. he was there. (isn't he always there?) I saw captain kirk walk by in a daze. he didn't see me. I think something is on his mind because he looked like a young pup who lost his master. (broken heart?)

david letterman and I chatted the night away. and before we knew it, it was 2:30am. time really flew. we went outside to do some oogling. I was surprised to see duece bigalow and craig constantine still shooting the breeze.

at around 3:30am, I went home. tired to the bone - AGAIN.

...well, it's about 3pm now. just woke up. I sent out the invitations last night to see if anybody wanted to join wesley snipes and I for dinner. but everybody seems busy. the plan is to meet at 5:30pm at the lobby to decide on where to go.

if you are interested, wesley and I will be there. ..time to get cleaned up.

a new routine developing....

well, it appears I am starting to get into this new routine where I go out once every 3 days. I didn't go out last night preferring to stay home and watch the stock market. and filling in the gaps with playing "dawn of war 2".

I located another long lost family connection yesterday. this little girl that I knew as a 3 year old is now 30+ years old. AND get this... SHE has 3 kids. between all my nephews and nieces, I count at least 40 new faces. talk about WOW!

all of a sudden, I feel really old.

tomorrow is the moo ka-tat with welsey snipes. duece bigalow says he might go if I locate a moo ka-tat that is indoors. so, that is what I plan on doing tonight before going over to the parking lot. ...check out some indoor moo ka-tats over in the victory monument locale. ..that reminds me. I should send out invitations now to see who else is interested in going. lazy me.

all-you-can-eat seafood, thai food, chinese food. at about 250 baht or 8 dollars. what more do you want?

FOOD! the SECOND most important thing in life.

the latest on my bell's palsy.

I think I'm getting better. one of the side effects of bell's palsy is - it makes you really tired. well, get this. yesterday, I stayed up for almost 16 hours straight. yeah. getting back my stamina and endurance.

about time...

I just woke up after only 7 hours of sleep total. BACK to being a nightowl.

got word from da brain to stop looking for the magic bullet blender here in bangkok. he's going to buy it in the states and bring it over. da brain got me interested in the gadget. so, I might get someone to buy me one too and bring it over. I hear they make great smoothies, fruit shakes, milkshakes, etc.

the gossip... errol flynn tells me he is coming over in august. most probably dennis the menace is also coming over at the same time. and maybe even frank sinatra. who knows? august is also when the priest said he would be coming over to start his retirement here in thailand. ...hope to see you soon, bro. the soft seats have been empty lately. some of us lounge lizards need to fill them up.

3 more weeks, and da brain will be back. I haven't been back to the oishi express in a while. something to look forward to.

well, that pretty much wraps up the latest with me. energy levels are returning to pre-bell's palsy days, I think I will be able to go to the parking lot tonight. I think I'll take a 3 hour nap now. when pond arrives, I'll let her clean everything up, at which point, I will go back to sleep. for how long, I do not know.

told wesley earlier today, I never heard of it. there I was at about 6am bangkok time playing my "dawn of war 2" when da brain pops up in my yahoo messenger. curious as to what was up, I engaged in a conversation with him. it seems he wants to buy a magic bullet blender IF they have it for sale here in bangkok, thailand.

like I said, it's the first time I have heard of a magic bullet blender.

BUT being a good bangkokbuddy, I will go around town looking for it since da brain wants it. anything for the da brain. being retired, I have nothing to do anyway. so, looking for this thing will give me a reason to get out of my apartment.

da brain suggested I research the gadget on the internet before I actually go look for it. the following appears a number of other people...

also need a break from it all. got comments from big skippy, and jack dawson telling me they are planning on taking trips somewhere to get away from the city. malcolm suggests I go up his way for a break. hehehe.

frankly, I don't know why. ..but a week indoors is no big deal for me. even 2 weeks indoors is no big deal. if I have my computer games, cable tv, and the internet to surf, I'm ok. really, honest to god.

now, if I could only find a female who feels the same way. it could be a party every night.

anyway.... so much for sweet dreams....

last night, I didn't go out because I was burned out bigtime. tonight, I didn't go out because of the stock market. even though I don't have much money in the market anymore, I still enjoy watching some stocks that I used to have.

this one stock, SVA - sinovac biotech, has been really seeing some action. about 3 months ago, it was like at 75 cents. a couple of hours ago, I saw it go to $4.98. normal number of shares traded is around 100k. today, it is close to 4 million. yes, something is up. and as a result, I'm watching it.

looking at stocks, looking at women... it's all the same. looking at stuff.

I have about midnight on my clock. guess I'll play some "dawn of war 2" now. after I come up for air, I'll check out the stock market again. nothing else on the agenda.

feeling much better today. rested up. a trip out to the parking lot maybe in order for tomorrow night.

life is good.
<img
